Oh no, so busy writing this post that I missed seeing the rain ouitside and guess who has only just put her washing out …. yuk, yuk and more yuk …. oh well ….

Apart from the nights starting to draw in …. and the weather …. it’s all a sure sign that Autumn is on the way.

There are lot of challenges out there wanting to see Autumnal colours and Craftalicious is one of them the challenge this week is to see Harvest Festival/Autumn on your card. Stamp Something, would like to see fall colours.

It’s no good I am gonna have to run and get it in ….

Wrapping Paper

010304

When I hop over to the UK, my number one shop to visit is Paperchase to see what new sheets of wrapping paper they have …. Andrew says I could open my own shop just selling wrapping paper. My love of wrapping paper stems from when I first started cardmaking years ago and there were no craft shops selling DP papers like there is today. Irene and I used to make our own cards and decoupage mainly from wrapping paper.

The paper, which the card is standing on, was one of my latest buys from Paperchase. I cut out two of the images, one of the Eiffel Tower which I stuck to the tag, the other is the little girls, coloured in their hair to make them look quite funky and then add diamond glaze. Still have loads more images to use especially the girl with the umbrella.

A Spoon Full of Sugar challenge want to see Spots and Stripes this week.

Used my I-top brad imagi thingy for the ummmm second time …. only had it a year …. but happy with the result and will be using it more often …. she says with fingers crossed behind her back.

Can you see a new button on the blog …. yep I am going to be making some tutorials …. watch this space….

Thought it was time I did another Christmas card while I am still in the mood and some colouring in. When last back in the UK, Irene, Diane, Clare and myself made a couple of these slider cards and I fell in love with them. Irene found a tutorial for them and we set about trying to follow it …. after a lot of confusion, laughing, swearing, huffing and puffing, we finally deciphered the instructions and made one.

Coloured image with a mixture of copics, markers and staedtler pens but left the card quite simple with hardly any embellies because the image is so cute.

Visage

010294010293

This is the first time I have used this freebie stamp from the Craft Stamper Magazine, she is called Visage, and is designed by The Stamp Man. Isn’t she just so sultry and elegant when stamped and embossed.

I used two embossed frames for the centre piece, taped them together at the left hand side then scored a line so they would open. Stamped and embossed the image with black embossing powder then cut out with a Nellie Snellen die. For the corner of the card I stamped and embossed with white embossing powder the PB Fantasy stamp …. just the tip of the stamp is all I used. The flowers were fun to do, punched out 4 little flowers and spritzed with glimmer mist and the rose for good measure.

Let’s Ink it Up wants a charm for their challenge and The Ribbon Girls want Black, Orange & White for their very first challenge, didn’t have a black charm but found this beautiful pendant in my stash and coloured with an overhead marker. Stitched on the delish ribbon and made a large bow with the rest.

Meljens Designs challenge want to see Autumn Colours for their challenge this week. The Corrosive Challenge – Clean up the dust. Stamp Something with fall colours. Stamptacular Sunday Challenge – Season’s Change. Wild Orchid Challenge – Ribbons & Bows

I really love the overall result of this image she looks mesmerising, enjoy.

Monochromatic Christmas

010282010290

Thanks Jenny and Linda for such a fabulous crafting day last week we had such a fun time but poor Jenny had a bad head for most of the day so she made an appointment with the opticians and yep glasses were needed. They look absolutely gorgeous Jenny so stop moaning about them. Like all crafters they are so generous with their goodies and I found these beautiful pearl and glass beads and also these new Craftwork cards in their stash …. aren’t they just sooo divine.

Threaded the beads onto cotton then made a spinner card …. ooo it looks so yummy and elegant. The aperture is made with a nestie and papers are also Craftwork Cards. Punched a snowflake edge onto the vellum then added black ribbon. The image inside is from the Joanna Sheen Silhouette CD.

Penny Black Meets Magnolia

010283010284010281010285010286010289

Lots of folding and scoring to make these two envelope cards but well worth the effort. The cards themselves are each made from a single sheet of 12 x 12 paper …. think they were both from a QVC buy. Loads of stamping, masking, colouring, inking, glitter, micro beads, diamond glaze and punching went into these two projects but enjoyed every minute. Put the cat through the swiss dots embossing folder and covered the dots with micro beads, added stitching and lace to the Penny Black card.

Vintage Tag

010276010278010277010279

While in the UK last week I bought five new Penny Black Stamps, one of which is the large music background which I have been drooling over for some time now …. had to buy in bulk this time because not sure when I will be next in the UK.

Irene and I had a fun three days of crafting and we stamped the PB Poppy Poem onto a tag, coloured in with markers, then masked off and over stamped with the music, inked and distressed the edges.

Had a little blog hop …. don’t have time when home so was having withdrawal symptoms …. and saw The Shabby Tea Room has a challenge for tags so revamped my tag and added it to a larger tag, again used the music and poppy but this time coloured with distress inks, topped off the poppy and torn stamp with glossy accents. Made a rose with the salvage edge of a piece of material and inked with TH Spun Sugar. Stitched a corner edge onto the tag with some material and added beads. The little postcard came from my stash, I tore the stamp off an envelope and you can just see a 2009 postmark across it.

Quick Trip To UK

060022

Sorry for the lack of posting but have been back home to the UK for four days with the grandchildren, Lauren started Junior school for the first time and I just had to be there to take photos of the big day.

First day went well but she was oh so tearful on the second day and wanted to go back to the infant school because her best friend is in a different class from her now.

Oh to be 7 again and my only worry is which class I am going to be in.
