Altered Holiday Box

Not sure if you remember my crafting holiday to Rhyl in North Wales with two friends … one a crafter the other a book reader … at the beginning of July. The holiday where we didn’t get as much done as we hoped because the weather turned into a Mediterranean scorcher.

Actually we did get some things done and below is the circular box which I altered. Also started a canvas but didn’t finish … ehh still on my desk waiting to be completed!!! Coloured some images which I will be adding to cards or an album … decisions, decisions ahhh.

What I love most about this box are the buttons on the top. These were made with a mold to which I added Frantage Embossing Enamel and clear UTEE. Added four little cotton reels to the bottom of the box which look really neat as teensy tiny feet. Stamped the Elizabeth Bennet from Indigo Blu onto shrink plastic.

Covered the inside of the box and the inside lid with the same decoupaged napkins as I used for the top. When everything dried I gave an all over wash.

Wings & Things At VSC

Still feeling very chilled from the holiday and in between getting things back to normal in the home I have had chance to make a tag as my design team piece for Vintage Stamping Challenges.

Wings & Things is the theme this month and I have chosen to use this stamp here from Flonz Crafts. Die cut the bird cage which is a large X Cut Die then added metallic gilding wax.

To enter this months challenge just enter your creation and maybe it could be you who wins the $20 from Flonz’s store. Visit the DT’s blogs for more inspiration and also to leave them some love.

Clean & Simple At FSC – Ship Ahoy

HI ALL … WAHOO … I’M BACK

Ah well, finally back from our hols in Portugal and feeling quite refreshed and raring to go.
After having such a fantastic time with all the family, when we entered the house everything was awfully quite. No Byron or Penny (the fur babes) to greet us because they were still on their hols.

Picked them up the next evening and how happy were they to see us. The kennels are fantastic but being away for three weeks was more than enough for them and they practically ate us. As you can imagine the house is not very quiet now.

Fashionable Stamping are having a Clean & Simple Challenge this fortnight which is fine by me because I still have all the unpacking, washing and, dare I mention the dreaded word, dusting to do. I have Meggymay to thank for making my first challenge back such an easy peasy one … thank you sweets.

Below I mounted a piece of handmade paper onto a blue piece of cardstock which I had stamped one of Flonze Crafts stamps onto … you can find it here. Masked it off then used a Stamps Away Aperture Mask so that I could ink the edges with Stormy Sky and Weathered Wood Distressed Inks. Used another mask to ink in the birds.

Topped everything off with some stitching and a sentiment – now how easy could that be?
Time for you to enter your C&S creation but before you do check out the DT’s beautiful inspiration they are all gorgeous.
