Flowered Canvas

Last Saturday’s class was all about finishing a canvas that we started a few weeks ago.

Needle, cotton and material were used to make the beautiful flower and the image is from G45, “A Ladies Diary”.   Lots of other elements were used on the canvas but nothing could escape the gesso, crackle medium or acrylic paint.

Ooooh, lovely Shirley, it’s one of those I would love to reach out and touch to feel all the textures – would make sure I din’t have inky hands first of course.

Lovely vision of a shabby chic make! Oh and I can spot a die that I haven’t used for AGES (Nellie Snellen if I recall). xx

  3. Shirl says:

Not Nellie Snellen Christine it’s an old Spellbinders frame die one of their very first dies. Do you remember the old dies that came in a red case?

Hi, Shirl! So glad you opted to complete this incredible canvas! While the elements are beautifully complementary to your choice of G45 papers, I am more drawn to the the ways the soft colors promote the strength of femininity. It’s quite interesting how each of the women are looking in a different direction, following their own dreams, while supporting one another in their endeavors. It reminds me of our dear blogging community as we encourage one another to grow in our individual styles. This is gorgeous, Shirl. Thanks for inspiring me today! Love, de
