Wahoo Transferred To The Completed Box

Do you have unfinished projects and you’re unsure where they are going, well meet your sister … that’s me.

My unfinished pile is forever growing and instead of trying to sort them out it’s easier to start another.

Whilst having a Skype session with Dot last week she convinced me to start completing some of these pieces.

Well here is a project, which has been sitting in my craft room for months and months but now transferred to the Completed Box.

To be fair all the crackling, stamping and embellishments were done but the whole thing was black and white.  Colour was all it needed but I couldn’t make up my mind … hence relegation to the unfinished box.

Colours finally used are Quinacridone Violet and Green Gold from the DecoArt range of paints plus black gesso.

The above started life as a wooden Christmas wall hanger, bought quite a few in the January sale because I knew they would be easy to alter, see here.

Stamps used are: La Blanche – Clock Collage, and Artistic Outpost – Generation Redux.

Love these close up pics as it details so much of the background.  Also it shows the glossy accents which was used on the inner workings of the clock.

Last entry for the Craft Stamper Challenge which is Anything Goes, (only three pieces allowed for each challenge).

Thanks for the kick up the proverbial, Dot – definitely needed it.

Wowzer! Just look at all that fabulous crackle, and the colours you eventually managed to decided on are completely amazing. Love the aged look the Green Gold gives to the Q.Violet, and the images are perfect too. A brilliant piece, and well worth the wait.

Shirl, I am SO GRATEFUL you finished this project. It really speaks to my soul – and the artwork conveys the struggle I have going on – wishing I could do more, and then realizing, I CAN do more IF I accept my limitations, and broaden myself in new directions – all I need to do is SEARCH for the new directions, and be wise enough to find my niche in those new areas. I’ve especially learned through the hard exacerbations these past 2 years that I can best delve out, seek newness, and grow, when I accept how I presently am. It’s such a waste of time to fight a battle over which I have no physical control LOL – thanks for this amazing piece of artwork – the colors attract me, yes, but it is the elements of time, femininity, strength, courage, and pursuit that have spoken so loudly to me! Thank you, and please thank you friend.

On another topic – yes, I am your long-lost sister, with lots of unfinished projects. My style has changed so radically that I actually tossed a few, but long to finish the others. I shall strive to do so. Thank you for inspiring me, Shirl.

    hugs,

    Hi Shirl,
Wow your finished art is gorgeous. I love the textures and colour. I used to always finish my designs start-finish in one ‘sitting’. Lately I find myself creating backgrounds and then setting them aside. Most stay on my desk until finished in a day or so… but I do have a box of unfinished that I should dig out and see if I can make something from them 🙂 I’m finally getting some time for myself, once the house is clean again, I’ll get back to creativity… unless of course the weather is perfect for gardening 🙂 Cheers xx
