Wahoo Transferred To The Completed Box

Do you have unfinished projects and you’re unsure where they are going, well meet your sister … that’s me.

My unfinished pile is forever growing and instead of trying to sort them out it’s easier to start another.

Whilst having a Skype session with Dot last week she convinced me to start completing some of these pieces.

Well here is a project, which has been sitting in my craft room for months and months but now transferred to the Completed Box.

To be fair all the crackling, stamping and embellishments were done but the whole thing was black and white.  Colour was all it needed but I couldn’t make up my mind … hence relegation to the unfinished box.

Colours finally used are Quinacridone Violet and Green Gold from the DecoArt range of paints plus black gesso.

The above started life as a wooden Christmas wall hanger, bought quite a few in the January sale because I knew they would be easy to alter, see here.

Stamps used are: La Blanche – Clock Collage, and Artistic Outpost – Generation Redux.

Love these close up pics as it details so much of the background.  Also it shows the glossy accents which was used on the inner workings of the clock.

Last entry for the Craft Stamper Challenge which is Anything Goes, (only three pieces allowed for each challenge).

Thanks for the kick up the proverbial, Dot – definitely needed it.

Soft Delicate Hues Of Blue

It’s been a long time since I did any journaling pages so I decided to give the little canvas book that I made an airing.  You can see the book here.

FSC – Black And White With A Hint Of Red

Fashionable Stamping Challenges this fortnight want to see ‘Black And White With A Hint Of Red’ on whatever you decide to make.  Dot picked the theme for this fortnight and what an easy make it was.

On my one layer card I have used stamps from the Artistic Outpost, Apothecary and Generation Redux.

Stampers Anonymous, darkroom door and Stampin Up are the other stamps used.

FSC Wants Numbers

Fashionable Stamping Challenges this fortnight want to see “NUMBERS” on your make.  Amanda picked this theme and I thoroughly enjoyed making this card.

I also enjoyed taking the photo … yes you did read correctly, all my whining and whinging about photo taking is a thing of the past  (I hope).

Andrew bought me a super duper light tent with all the fandangle of lights on stands that goes with it.  (OMG it’s huge!!!!!)  Took the photo with the white background (it comes with four different coloured background sheets) and I was very impressed with the results so left it white.  I usually like to do a coloured background around my work which I create in gimp.  This is my first take and I can see a lot of practising ahead with the contraption but I am going to really enjoy the challenge of it .

A huge thank’s and more Andrew.

The background was made by spritzing water onto the card before dropping some granules of coffee onto it, leave until it soaks in then wipe off any excess.  Dragged some paint and ink across the card when all was dry.  The sewing machine also saw the light of day for the first time this year!!!

It was so easy to achieve the tarnished look on the die cogs.  Cut them out with greyboard, inked with versamark before sprinkling with black soot and aged mahogany distress embossing powders.  Finished off by rubbing some gold gilding wax on the edges..

I would love it if you hopped on over to see all the DT’s work as they are simply stunning.  Also don’t forget that the winner of this challenge has $20 to choose anything they like from Flonz’s store.

Upper Class Toff

What a spiffin upper class toff this old chap looks from the Paris Memoirs collection of Tim’s stamps.

First saw him on Hels blog here, it was love at first sight so I had to go and buy the set.  Thanks Hels for the fabulous inspiration and also for making me spend more dosh lol.

He came Saturday morning and I had him inked and coloured onto card by Saturday afternoon.  Making things I love is easy but the photography bit not so much that’s why he is only just on the blog today.  Also my first time of inking some stamps I was lucky enough to win at the Compendium of Curiosities Challenge #11 and the generous sponsor for this particular challenge was Inspiration Emporium.  I chose an Artistic Outpost collection, (plus some other stamps) and used the building from the set.  Other stamps used are from Stampin Up and Creative Expressions.

Spiffin Old Chap

I wanted everything one layer but it seemed to be missing something so I ripped and tore a piece of book page, added an itsy bitsy piece to the edge and corner which transformed it immediately.

It would be rude not to show Hels how she inspired me so I have entered into her Sunday Challenge – Anything Goes.  Thanks sweetie x x

Even More Stamping

Thank you for all your kind comments about my Nuts and Bolts Album, you can see the first few pages here but be careful what you ask for!!

The lovely Alison from Words and Pictures left a sweet comment and at the end said “hope you’ll let us see the other pages some time”. Well here they are Alison, a mega photo fest of the rest of the pages but you will be pleased to know that these are the last. Alison mail me your address and you can have this little mini album sweets .. (that is if you want it)!!

The beauty of this album is that you just undo the bolts and add more pages when you feel the need. After this little stamping fest I don’t feel the need!

I really had to sit on my hands with some of the pages because each of my stamps were shouting … “use me”. The noise was starting to get deafening because the masks and stencils wanted to get in on the act.

Love the above page which has various stamps on it but the girl is from PaperArtsy called Buttons Plate 3. I cut an aperture so that you can see the bird on the next page (incidentally he just happens to be sitting on another PaperArtsy mini) and when the page is turned you can see a pair of eyes.

Dancing At The Palais

Can you remember queuing on a Saturday night outside the local dance palais and checking out all the talent with your girlfriends.

I certainly can and whilst looking at these images Generation Redux … which were still on my desk from my last tag here … vivid memories of my dancing days came flooding back.

Definitely lighter on my feet in those days 😯

Gosh, how the mind works is such a mystery, can’t fathom for the life of me why dancing at the palais jumped into my head. Had such a smile on my face whilst reliving the memories of dodging some unsavory characters who wanted a dance.

Designed this tag with those thoughts in mind!!!

Sad – Not Me

Not sure where I first saw this stamp set – one of you lovely ladies in blogland no doubt – but I just had to have it.

It’s an Artistic Outpost set called Generation Redux
Redux means – brought back, restored … just thought you might like to know that … well I did so I googled it, wahoo now we all know.

She really looks quite serious and very studious … totally didn’t have enough room on my tag to stamp all that so just made do with saying “sad” instead. Stamped her with pink chalk paint, turned out good even if I say so myself.

Have a look at the five tiny squares on the left, can anyone tell me what they are the waste from?

Decided to tell you instead – they are those horrible shiny backs that you take off the teensy tiny foam pads. One fell onto the tag and it blended so well that I decided to leave it there and add more!!

Absolutely Spiffing Old Chap

Never ever wanted to plonk an image onto another item to alter it, simply because it just doesn’t seem to gel with my brain cells and my eyes. Weird or what!!!

Something in my head tells me that it looks ugly and completely wrong. Well decided not to listen to what my eyes are telling my brain and just went for it.

Coward that I am definitely nothing major to begin with … just baby steps.

For my baby start used this PaperArtsy Mini 03 and this stamp here from Flonzcrafts.

Other stamps used are from Artistic Outpost Generation Redux and another of Flonzcrafts here.
