Peek a Boo Annie

I have been hankering after Annie just forever and ever. When back in the UK a friend told me the Crafty Cow had a 15% sale so off I trundled and when I saw her….. well you can only imagine my joy. I also bought the window which I have used on the card and Becky (can’t wait to use her).

Entering this into the Allsorts Challenge…. it’s a sketch this week and a DT call. I have to say the sketch is very good and easy to follow thanks girls.

Water coloured her and the window curtains onto watercolour paper then cut them both out. Stamped the inside flap curtains straight onto the lilac card… gosh I was in seventh heaven when doing this card she is just adorable. The photo looks strange because the flap kept falling open and it covered the end of the card but you get the picture (pardon the pun) of what it looks like. The other photo is of the inside flap, stamped trailing vine and added flower soft.

The window aperture is cut away and see through but when I took the photos it looked black so with my graphics program I manipulated the black to pink, so you will have to visualize it see through. Card looks better in the flesh, might, if I have time, try and take better photos today.

Used vellum for the first mat and again stamped the vine around the edges… did this because I knew the vellum wouldn’t show up very well on the photo. Wanted to to see the pretty paper underneath which is Basic Grey – wisteria that’s why I used vellum. The sentiment is on the bottom right of the inside flap but have not shown because this card is for a very dear friend.Shirl

Baby Tag Book

010058

Simon Says this week New Baby and I have made this baby tag book.

The book is made from just one sheet of 12 x 12 paper and the stitching this time is by hand.

Pieces of cereal boxes were covered with paper to make the front and back covers of the book.

I then drew a template for the tags to fit into the pockets of the book and printed baby images onto them.

Used a MS punch for the border and the inside corners, added tiny pearls to the front and the inside of the book. Flower centres are tiny pearl brads. Stamped a little lamb image in the corner.

Stamped a doggy and lamb image on the inside of the book in the corners and then stamped again onto yellow paper, cut out and decoupaged over the images.

Used a circle punch to make the openings for the tags. Ribbon was added to tie the book together and the same ribbon was used for the tags.

Anya Distressed and still in the Pink

010054

I think Anya looks really pretty surrounded with all her finest shabby chic odds and ends.

Coloured her with Pro Markers & Copics, scrunched the card very carefully to crease it, sanded the paper then cut and distressed all the edges before I brushed them with ink. The papers, which I stitched on, were also ripped and distressed, (have to say this is what I love doing).

Randomly pleated the pale pink lace before I stitched onto the card. Made two bows with more of the lace and also cut a couple of strips of lace and tied in a bundle with some string (had to bleach the string because it was the wrong colour) then teased apart. Flowers and pearls are all from my ever growing stash.

Have just found some more challenges to enter her into…

K L Stamping and Scrapping # 14 – Nesties Punches or Dies

Paper Take Weekly Challenge – Pretty Pink Papertake

Crazy 4 Challenges – Pretty in Pink

Creative Inspirations Challenge #24 – Distressing.

Crafty Creations – Textures, they want at least three different textures on your card.

PaperPlay Challenge – Pink, White & Green

Charisma Cardz ChallengeLeanne has chosen this weeks challenge and it’s…. Anything New….my new is the pink lace. She has just moved to the UAE and I am sure she will love it. We lived in the Middle East for seven years and just adored the ex-pat way of life… still do as we now live in Ireland.

Back home to the UK (after all this time I still call it home) this week and just can’t wait as I have not seen my beautiful grandchildren since September. Time to take lots more photos of them and to update my side bar as Amber is already moaning (as an 11 year old girl does) that the photo is horrible.

010050

This is for the One Stop Craft Challenge #63 – Fancy Edges or Corners. Can you believe it until I started to type the heading, I read the challenge as an ….and instead of an or …. oh well have to get the ole peeps checked out but the corners do look nice.

You should pop over and take a look because all the DT cards are amazing.

Just realized another blue, purple and pink card …. must change my colour scheme for the next card.Shirl

Owls Well

010049

Woo-hoo internet connection is back and can post cards again.

The little owl was a freebie from my stamping magazine a while ago and the larger is from a Dawn Bibby set. I stamped and embossed both images onto purple pearl paper and then cut out. Picked co-ordinating papers (which are a digi download from Pink Petticoat) and put through a MS punch. Made a flower with some ribbon and added a paper flower plus brad in the centre. Punched out some leaves and made a bow with another matching ribbon.

Another card bites the dust as my granddaughter has asked me to bring cards home with me on Wednesday because lots of her friends have birthdays in March… including hers.

Tilda

010045

Entering this easel card for Die Cuts r us Challenge which is to make a project inspired by the colours in the DCRU image. Have to say I just love these colours and making this card was such a pleasure.

Papers used are all from Pink Petticoat a lovely digi download shop which I found a long time ago and can’t get enough of them, I can always find a colour match for my projects.

Also for the Just Magnolia Special Monthly Challenge paper pleating, which I love and there is a fabulous tutorial by Mina.

Tilda was coloured with Copics and Pro Markers then sat her on two nesties. I stitched the paper pleating with a scalloped stitch to hold it all together. Have to say my dressmaking comes in handy at times like this but it is much easier with material than paper. Lots of matting and layering with pleating, scallops and ribbon. MS punch was used for the pleating edges and the waste pleats were added to the bottom of the card.

Stamping up punches and sentiment, along with an art impressions stamp at the top of the card, flowers, brads, gems and dew drops were all added to make Tilda look oh so pretty.

I opened the card out full length and took a picture to show you how pretty the colours are.020008010046

Knitting Daisy May

010044

Wow we are really getting the white stuff this year. Grandkids rang this morning sooo excited because their school is closed and Daddy is also home so they are all going sledging this morning…. oh to be young again and have all that youthful energy…. no way back to my cards.

Patricia is going to love this one as she is into her knitting at the moment. I have also picked up the needles again, first time in…. can’t remember moving on.

Another CDM image …. what am I like, can’t resist her at the moment.

Entering her for both these challenges:

Creative Card Crew Challenge # 42 – Distressing

My Time To Craft Challenge # 73 – Blue & Brown.

Used so many colouring items on her – Copics, Promarkers (which P has lent me to see if I like using them) and distressing inks. Used another fancy stitch for the paper, flowers, baubles and tassels all from stash. Really into the tassles at the moment.

Skip into Spring with Daisy May

010042

This card sings…. Spring to me.

Hope you have all popped over to Daisy May Digi Stamps to collect your freebie.

This card has been made for a very special person’s birthday, will be putting a name and sentiment on the card later.

Linnie has written on her blog – Fill her basket with your choice of embellies … which I did … flowers, flowers and more flowers … This has given the card a lot of height so I am in the process of making a box that matches the card, will post when done.

Because Daisy May is looking behind her my interpretation of the image was … something falling out of her basket. She has been coloured with both Pro Markers and water colour pencils. Cut her out with a nestie frame (scalloped edge one) then cut out another frame with DP, cut off the scallops and edged around the image. Matted and layered her. Used a MS deep edge punch – floral vine, which at the moment is one of my favourites. Picked a scalloped and a straight stitch for the papers which are all from K & Co, lace flowers and jewelled brad from stash.

Holly

010041

Had some Basic Grey – Indian Summer – papers on my desk and was looking for a digi image on the computer when I came across these Holly and Madison images which I bought a while ago.

They come as black and white or already coloured. This is Holly already coloured and she matched the papers quite well.

Rolled the edges of the paper and printed the image onto white card I then cut out with a nestie, inked the edges with Rangers ink – mustard seed. Added a bit of extra definition to her belt, coloured in with a Sakura black glaze pen. Her boots and flowers also have glaze on them. Stitched black beads around the corner and coloured in a path then stamped little cobble stones all over.

The black trellis work was left over from my last card, black lace, black and burgundy flowers and blue brads all from stash. Sentiment from Stamping Up, the little flower coloured in with a Sakura red glaze pen.

Next card will have a spring feel because the last two are still in winter mode judging by the colours.

New Love

010040

Can you Adam and Eve it I have just broken my New Years Resolution ….. Decided not to make the usual this year (diet, spend less money etc) – I’m sure you all get the picture …. my resolution was …. to start using less of the digital download papers and use more from my stash. I have DT papers all over the house (especially K & Co and Basic Grey just love them) but I bring them out, stroke, look and then put away again (sure I’m not the only one).

My first card for 2010 is for all these challenges:

Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge New

Lily-Boo Too Challenge Blog Valentine

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge #64 New Beginnings

Rainbow Lady’s Challenge # 84 New

By the Cute and Girly – New

Crafty Ann’s Challenge #5 – New

Cute Daisy May ChallengeLove

The image is from Cute Daisy May Digi Stamps download, (by the way if you hop over now there is a New Year freebie up for grabs and she is gorgeous – please please please don’t forget to come back).

So far, this part OK, resolution still intact. The next part is where it gets broken….. wanted to use the colours of the Fussy and Fancy Blog….. can you believe it, after hunting ages through my stash could not find the bubble pinky papers I wanted. Hence went back to good old favourite Pink Petticoat. Quickest time I can remember for me to break my resolution….. ah well, get to keep my stash.

Printed image and then cut out with a cookie cutter, used my water colours pencils to colour. Got to use two of my new MS punches. Punched out two hearts and added a nestie label which I put through the printer to add the sentiment. Flowers, bauble and cord all from stash.
