Little Princess

Gosh first of June tomorrow …. where oh where has this month gone. Three weeks time and we are going to have the longest day and we all know what that means …. the days start to get shorter.

I can remember when I used to sit outside of an evening in the Summer until midnight and it was still warm and light. Have not done that in a long while …. ah well as they say those were the days….

Onto my DT card for the Crafty Angels – this week it’s a sketch.

Bought the magnolia stamp from the Crafty Angels online shop and also the beautiful rose in the middle of the bottle top. Yep made a brad lookalike from a bottle top, filled the middle with diamond glaze and put the rose in when it was still wet. Looks quite good …. as usual photo doesn’t do it justice. Made lots of french knots around the magnolia image. Papers from my favourite digi download Pink Petticoat.

Her Shyness

Just a complete sucker for cute images. Can’t believe I have only just found this image isn’t she gorgeous? Wanted to enter the challenge for Colour Create …. not sure if I am too late, they want to see the colours Soft Green & Light Aqua on your card and started looking at the DT’s blogs where I came across Di’s Digi Downloads where she can be bought …. you really must go and see all the sample cards as well they are just going to blow you away. Anyway bought a few so you know what will be coming up on my cards in the next few weeks. I’m sure you can recognise the papers by now they are from Pink Petticoat one of my favourite digi shops.

Look at the fret work on the card …. I am totally a happy bunny at the moment because I have also learnt how to put lovely lattice work directly onto my card with the Cricut Expression. Andrew is also pleased that I am finally using it – only taken me 3 years. Will be posting three more cards when I take the pictures and all with lovely new lattice work.

Cool Dudes

Crafty Angels this week has a colour combo of …. Teal & Brown …. this just cries out boys to me.

Not often I make a boys card …. more girlie girlie …. think it’s a throw back from having two boys and no girls.

Images are a download from, Digital Scrapbook Pages. No colouring this time just a lot of sanding, ripping, tearing, inking, sewing …. by hand …. and cutting out with the trusty nesties. The sentiments are rub-ons …. tried to give these the distressed look and it worked quite well …. I am sooo into these at the moment.

Off to find some challenges:

Keep singing the song in my head …. “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” …. lucky it’s only in my head, singing voice isn’t the best.

Paper pieced some of the digi image and then coloured the rest with Pro-markers. Printed directly onto the card the background trailing flowers …. added lots of sewing, lace, ribbon and pearls …. just how I like it hope you do too.

Bet you haven’t noticed …. not an inked edge anywhere.

What a fantastic day Saturday was, everything went well. Got home after class and decided to make my card for Crafty Angels because Andrew was watching his boys as he calls them on the tele …. err can you believe it Aldershot on TV prime time Saturday afternoon …. no neither can I? Well they lost but we won’t go there. It’s the play off’s and Aldershot are still in with a chance of promotion but only if they win their game on Wednesday. Now I can hear all the little grey cells thinking why is she talking about football …. well if they win on Wednesday they will be playing the final at Wembley and what does that mean girls …. a trip back to the UK …. and …. shopping …. see that wasn’t difficult knew you’d get there in the end.

Anyway back to Crafty Angels …. ripping and tearing is the challenge for this week …. so just had to ink those edges.

This fabulous digi image is from Whoopsi Daisy Designs, and it comes with another 3 different images on the sheet which are equally as cute as this one …. if you pop on over now Linnie has a freebie on offer. While there you should have a peek at sheet 53 which is already coloured …. wow oh wow …. not sure but I think this is a new thing because they never used to be coloured. Also have a peek at Sheet 3 …. now I am not usually a fairy person but I bought this because the images are soooo pretty, can’t wait to make a card with them.

Masked off the image before I inked all over with mustard seed which was also used for the edge of the scalloped paper, stamped over the image with the little Tapestry stamps – just on one side, then coloured the image with distress inks. Ripped, curled and inked the edges of the green paper which is also from Basic Grey Origins with dusty concord …. lastly inked the flower with same, cut a circle shape for the base and added lace and a birthday sentiment from Stampin Up.

When I saw this image for the first time it reminded me so much of my little Penny Black – so couldn’t resist adding the wording and colouring her with black soot.

Just For You

010195010194

Here she is girls and everything on this card, except for the ribbon and cerise pink paper is from Craftwork Cards which I purchased from the sweetest little craft store in Craanford called Cottage Crafts.

The aperture is made with a nestie, I then cut another nestie die with the beautiful purple pearl paper …. try saying that after a few …. centred the die through the aperture, then added the coloured image to the middle. Used Pro-markers to colour tweetie bird.

A simple but very elegant looking card.

Stitched a layer of soft white lace on the inside of the card …. which was given to me by a very talented carmaking duo …. Jenny and her Mum Linda …. along with some other delish goodies …. and made two apertures so that the pretty lace could be seen through …. click on the image for a larger peep. Stamped flower image is from Stampin Up and coloured both images with my pro-markers. At the centre of the flower is a really pretty rose which was bought from Laura’s shop …. eh that reads like I bought one rose …. it’s really a large pack of them.

Teabag Oriental Style

Lovely Saturday morning here in Ireland …. sun shining …. just makes you feel that summer is on the way …. we can but hope …. have just realised something in all my eight years here I have not heard one person say …. top of the morning to ya …. and yet I always associated that saying with the lovely Irish people. Must google it and find out where it originally came from.

This adorable oriental card is for my class today …. if you would like more info click on Saturday in the right side bar.
