Totally on cloud nine when I was picked to be a DT member for Sentimental Sundays and this is my first card for them …. please slide your eyes across to the side bar and there you will see all the links to the other Sentimental girls so just hop across and visit them …. trust me you won’t be disappointed …. and another thing Sentimental Sunday’s have some freebie’s up for grabs, but only for one week so you’d better be quick if you want them.

Nice easy challenge for you all …. Birthdays + a sentiment …. Andrew came up with the sentiment on our son’s birthday card and we just laughed our socks off when he came up with this little gem …. hope you get the joke …. oh no …. sorry JP spelt goulies wrong should be ghoulies …. (blame your Dad the proof reader ok me)!!!!

I found this little beauty of an image …. ugh, if you can call it that …. on one of Annika’s cards (one talented lady) and as soon as I saw it I knew that I was going to buy it but even better it was a freebie from Make It Crafty how lucky was that.

Entering for:
Part Time Tuesdays – Carrot cake colour challenge – the colours they want to see primarily are orange, brown and white/ivory and also a birthday wording.

Elizabeth Bell’s World

010346010349010345010344

Entering for the Elizabeth Bell’s World October project which is to make a 3 x 3 note card box or tote. I opted for the tote bag because I will be making a box for the Swaps Anyone at Lets Ink It Up …. hop over and have a look.

I know I used the same image as last time …. different colours though …. but I can’t get enough of her she is gorgeous …. can you believe I looked just like her when I was younger …. if you believe that then I know you think pigs fly.

The sentiments on the little 3×3 cards are all a digi download and you can buy them from Raindrop Echo Designs at Whimsy Stamp Store they are easy to use and the sentiments are adorable, just right to cut out with your nesties or any other die cuts you have. I made these ones quite small because they had to fit onto a little 3×3 card but it didn’t affect the quality whatsoever. Used my Promarkers again because I wanted her vibrant looking …. I use my watercolours when I want a softer effect.

Does anyone else have this same problem or is it just my camera. the top right picture is the true looking colour of the card I used, it is a lovely sort of teal colour but the other images look very blue to me and yet I took them all at the same time. If I get time will try and take again to see if I can get the proper colour card on all the pictures, if not, ah well I can live with them because I have the real thing to look at.

Make A Scene

010340010341010334010333

This is my DT card for Let’s Ink it Up and their challenge is: Make A Scene

What can I say about my card except that I threw everything at it except the kitchen sink, so if that’s not making a scene I don’t know what is.

Our fab sponsor for this challenge is Tickled Pink Stamps who is offering you this fantastic Prize Package – of a $10 Voucher to the Tickled Pink Store.

Here’s a little about our fab sponsor: “Tickled Pink Stamps is based in Australia and is the home of the Lil Lolita and Lil Lads Stamps. They are everything quirky and sweet all in the one stamp and perfect for any occasion. Tickled Pink Stamps also has a range of sentiments and images to match with the gorgeous Lil Lolita and Lil Lads ranges. With new images coming all the time there is always something there to suit everyone and help bring out the quirky in us all….”

Back to the card, I used a lot of my fave things, distressing, glimmer misting, glazing, masking, punching, stamping, embossing, stitching think that just about sums it up. I used the PB stamp called …. the forever dream …. awww such a pretty name, another PB stamp called bliss and another called Sparklers …. love my PB stamps …. the tree stamp is an Art Impressions stamp.

My card was all ready to put together but somehow the cream lace didn’t fit right, so what do all good crafters do, they throw the glimmer mist at it, love it now

My card fits a few challenges this week so here goes:
Entering for – The Shabby Tea Room their challenge is …. Chocolate Covered Autumn …. they are showing the most yummy inspirational photo.
Stampin for the Weekend – Halloween/Fall
Creative Inspiration Challenge – Halloween/Fall
Charisma Cardz Challenge – Vintage

Black Rose – Phil Lynott/Thin Lizzy

010332

Well knock me down with those feathers …. I don’t usually take pictures of my commissioned cards but this one is an exception because it is for a very special lady, I don’t know the lady who the card is being given to but the brief for the card was as follows:

A black rose on the front of the card in 3D, the lady is very glamorous and would sometimes wear feathers in her hair, likes diamantés, the rose had to go in the middle of the card, her name, a particular verse and the date of the birthday on it. When I read all of that I thought not my cup of tea …. this is going to be a Barbara Cartland card …. until I read further down the brief and it said the card was for the mother of the late great Phil Lynott, then everything made sense.

Phil Lynott was a rock legend and part of the very huge hit band in the 70’s called Thin Lizzy. Those of you in blog land, unless you were part of the seventies era, will probably not have heard of the band, but all you others will have. Such a brilliant person, and my husband was a huge big fan of his in his youth. If you would like to read more about Phil and Thin Lizzy just take a look here.

Anyway back to the card decided it had to be quite simple looking …. otherwise as I said very Barbara …. you know the rest. Also could understand the brief loads more because one of Thin Lizzy’s Albums was called Black Rose, again if you want to see more info look here. Would have liked to put a black feather with the white but none in stash, tried red ribbons but they didn’t look right so went with the burgandy.

Well that’s my 15 mins of fame …. gonna milk this and dine on it for years …. blah blah …. did I tell you when I made …. you get the picture.

For my first project on Let’s Ink it Up I have made a Waterfall Memory Album …. (lots of photos) …. the first photo is the front of the album and then just like a waterfall card you pull the ribbon and the pages flip over. All the pages which are blank are where I am going to put photos.

This was a marathon project with lots of stamping, colouring, glimmer misting, distressing, ripping, tearing, reverse masking, flower soft, rub-ons, punches, stitching, micro beads and anything else I could lay my hands on, last but not least they are all in those beautiful Autumn colours for the challenge. I hope you enjoy looking as much as I enjoyed making and can’t wait to add my photos.

Oops forgot to say I have two more piccies to take of the album but they will have to wait until light is better tomorrow …. Last two posted enjoy.
