Chinese New Year or Asian

010439010441010440

I know just call me your Highness …. oops, what I really mean is your Lateness.

My DT card this week sure looks oriental but not 100% convinced she is Chinese, which is the theme for this weeks challenge at Sentimental Sundays, we would like to see Chinese New Year – Celebrate Asia for your projects.

Oh no what am I like, just Googled Geisha and the image is definitely Japanese, the Chinese equivalent is known as YI JI or Qinglou Nuzi …. don’t quote me …. quote Google. Anyway, whatever, she is definitely Asian which counts, also don’t forget to pick up your freebies while entering for the challenge, sorry girls another reminder is for you to use a sentiment on the project.

No prizes for guessing what the stamp is called …. just in case you couldn’t guess …. Geisha …. it is by a company called Hobby Art, Surrey, which is only a few miles from where my son lives in the UK. Coloured with water colours, also added lots of gems to the middle of the flowers, stamped out 6 fans and made 2 butterflies with 4 of them. Haven’t got a clue what the writing says but I’m hoping it’s not rude.

Can you believe it my only grandson was 11 on Wednesday and who forgot to take a photo of his card before posting!!! Yeh, just knew you would be disappointed not to see it so I made another which is very similar. Made Alex a T slider card …. in his card I added a photo to the middle so when he pulled the slider it revealed his picture, cool eh. Used Timmy’s inks and also black embossing powder for the edges.

Image used is from Phindy’s Place called connected boy, you can find him here.

Colour Challenge At SS

ass

Sorry girls for being AWOL but every now and again life has to come before crafting and it has been one of those times.

My DT entry this week for the colour challenge at Sentimental Sunday’s is this cute little bag, I love making these because you can add raised dimension to the inside and it doesn’t get squashed when closed. The tiny little disc magnets from Basic Grey are fantastic for keeping the bag closed. I think the colours, for the challenge, are from Stampin Up, …. which I have very little of, can’t get here in Ireland …. but I have found similar things from my stash.

Take a hop and look at all the DT cards …. being naughty here because I never pick faves …. but if you want something to cheer you up and really make you chuckle in these cold winter months then check out Cheryl’s card here …. see told you it would make you giggle.

Playing With Acetate At Let’s Ink It Up

010421010420

010426

Before I get into my Let’s Ink It Up card I just want to say my I Feel Pretty card was chosen as card of the week at Phindy’s Challenge how cool is that. Note to myself must go back and check the challenges more often!!!

Check out the new logo at Let’s Ink It Up, they also have their first challenge starting today of 2011 …. yay …. Anything Goes …. good one to start the new Year off with and you have a whole month to enter, a teensy teensy little reminder girls no digi images allowed.

Wonderful creations as usual from everyone of the DT girls, they are just simply divine, hop on over and feast your eyes, not only at the projects but also at what you can win this month from our sponsor Zoe from Make It Crafty …. one stamp of your choice.

The first two images of my card doesn’t really show you that it is made from acetate, I think that’s because I photographed them with the wrong background cardstock, the inside image shows it much better. Really into the acetate but will try and improve the photography on the next project.

Wanted to try the new foam stamps …. which are really cheap less than £11.00 for the four, each stamp is 4″ x 4 1/2″ …. very impressed indeed, considering they are foam. Stamped the butterfly image from the set with Brilliance, Tiramisu which is a tri-coloured ink pad then embossed with clear powder. The flower is a decoupaged stamp which was in the sale at only £2.00. Stamped Anna Griffin butterfly four times with the same ink, twice onto matching paper and twice onto vellum, one for the outside and one for the inside, buttons, beads and ribbon from stash.

Come Fly With Me

Anything with wings is the challenge this week at Sentimental Sundays …. went with butterflies …. I think they look adorable on cards …. and the Magnolia image, which I coloured with Pro Markers is one of my favourites, she is so girlie girlie. Up for grabs is four individual sentiment sets from Raindrop Echo Designs Whimsy Stamps Digital Collection and a custom watermark/signature set from Custom Designs at Whimsy Stamps …. worth winning peeps. Not that any of you talented ladies will need inspiration …. but if you do …. hop on over and look at the other DT’s work it is all fabulous.

Papers I used for my card are from one of my fave designer Anna Griffin, butterfly is die cut from some very pretty blue vellum and then embossed, netting, pins, brads and flowers all from stash.
