STOP PRESS!

Well – that all went reasonably well … am I glad it did, Andrew didn’t even tell me he was doing it, came home Saturday and no access to Shirl’s Cards … hadn’t even put up my post for this week’s Sentimental Sundays Challenge … anyway a huge thank you again hunny for making things easier for me x x x x x x

Ignore the comments below – we ARE now on our new site so hopefully things will be a little faster and a lot more reliable!

Sunday again and what a glorious one it is, sun splitting the sky yet again and wahoo clocks have gone forward so bring on those light nights.

Heart Song Designs as well as Raindrop Echo Designs Whimsy Stamps Digital Collection are this weeks sponsors for Sentimental Sundays and for our challenge we would love to see all your beautiful Cute & Cuddly creations and not forgetting the sentiment … as if you would!!!

Followed the sketch from Heart Song Inspiration for my card and the image is from Heart Song Designs which I coloured with Pro Markers.

After colouring the image and before it was added to the card, I scanned it in so that I will always have this image if I wanted to make a quickie card for anyone but I was able to make separate little images for my blog post … coool eh. The card definitely wasn’t complete until I added the sentiment from Raindrop Echo Designs which I thought went beautifully.

On The Move

Hi – not often I get to post on here! 😆

I’m currently in the process of moving Shirley’s site to a new webserver so as a temporary measure I have had to disable all comments. As part of the move this site may go “off the air” temporarily.

If you can see this post then you are still accessing the old site – so please come back again in a few hours and hopefully we’ll be all moved.

If you can’t see this post then we’re already in our new home and comments should be active again. 😉

If you can’t see the site at all then it’s probably all gone horribly wrong! 🙁

Now – stop surfing the web and get back to your crafting!

Another Flipsy Flopsy Book

Our Suzanne at Let’s Ink It Up works so hard for wanting the challenges to be just right for you each fortnight and she has a real passion for wanting to give something back to all our followers so, every two weeks we will be hosting a … FEATURED STAMPER. All you have to do is become a follower at LIIU and e-mail your interest … Suzanne will do the rest … good eh … but … yeah always a but … no digi images allowed.

Anyway made this for the Let’s Ink It Up Swaps … Caz was my partner and the book I received from her was just amazing, a true keepsake … thanks Caz… forgot to post pictures … meant to take more but had already posted it off . All pages have been left blank ready for Caz’s photo’s

You can find the tutorial for these books over at Laura’s The Paper Trail. Check her out all I can say is wowwwww … I only added three pages to this album and made the front cover different … what am I like just can’t help altering things and putting my own slant onto it … makes it feel more like mine then. This is another creation I made here following one of her tutorials.

Little Bit Of Spring

010490Happy Sunday to everyone and wow the last two days have been glorious, wall to wall sunshine so my card this week for Sentimental Sundays has a spring feel to it. It’s all about the sentiment this week. Please check out the girls creations for a little bit of inspiration, there is always a lovely surprise to be found when you go blog hopping … read on further to see what I mean.

010489010491010490

Only used two colours with my white card and being in the spring mood it had to be lemon and green.

My choice for colouring was chalks because I wanted a soft and whimsical feel for her, netting was placed over the image when completed, which totally gave it the floaty feel. Used yet another one of my fave techniques for this card … masking … just love it because you can achieve such wonderful results.

What am I like for playing … Andrew hates it because he’s the one who usually has to sort out the mess when it all goes horribly wrong … all he hears is this high pitched shriek followed by Andrewwwww … yippee not this time hun … it worked and not only have I made a lovely background but also learnt how to place her separately.

I adore my cardmaking and playing with paper … nothing can beat it … but I also love the computer side since I started my blog, it gives me so much pleasure to display my cards and projects in such a pretty way.

Had a quick mooch around … as you do … to see what challenges she would fit and came across the Make It Colourful Challenge saw Barbara’s card … just another quick hop to check it out … or so I thought … and hey presto my inspiration for trying this new technique came within seconds of seeing her absolutely beautiful blog, with all the extra little images dotted around … just had to try it for myself and so totally delighted with the results … thank you Barbara for such a pretty blog Forgotten Scraps.

My Fave (at the moment)

Had an inking bonanza day with Patricia and Margaret last weekend, I so enjoyed it because it was my first stamping, inking and just playing for ages, so at this moment in time it is my fave tag … ask me again next week which is my fave and I will have changed my mind.

Made the background by stamping onto acetate, turned it over to wrong side and spritzed with Making Memories Mists, covered with diamond glaze, placed a piece of copy paper over the top, and waited to dry. I took a nestie shape, found a piece I wanted to cut out, then layered it onto my tag. The tag is resting on the rest of the collage acetate … it’s also hiding the hole which was left by the cut out piece. Made our own flowers and brads.

010488

Just have to tell you this girls, Patricia also made a tag … not telling tales out of school … but she has not got the best eye for anything straight … watch out for her new blog which is coming soon …seriously though she is a brill crafter, adores anything vintage. We made the tags ourselves and who would have thought anyone could have laughed so much at someone trying to get the comers of the tag even, she nearly ended up with no tag left.

The stamps used are Patricia’s, the new TH ones from QVC, I never bought them … wish I had … but we all borrowed them, that’s what crafting with friends is all about sharing, playing and having the best laugh ever … no wonder we all love crafting.

Flag Card

Hi Suzanne haven’t done a flag book before but I made this card about 5 years ago.

It works on the same principle as the book, never knew what to call it … now I do … eh Flag Card!!!

Ummmm I feel my third tutorial might be this card.

(Click on image to see larger view)

It works on the same principal as the book, also the left hand topper on the card is the same as the larger image in the middle.

Another Tag To Share

One really happy bunny, posting another tag to share with you today with stamping onto acetate, spray inks, sewing, sticking, glueing, oh just about everything that gives us crafters a buzzzzzz. Have had a huge flare up with my RA and things like the above really take it’s toll on my hands but medication has kicked in again and life nearly back to normal. I love making cutesy, cutesy cards with flowers, ribbons and D papers … which doesn’t put to much pressure on my hands … but my first love is stamping, inking and getting totally messy. Photo rubbish, so much glare from acetate and bling baubles on the card, tried to sharpen but that made it worse, doesn’t help that the sun is splitting the sky today … not complaining after our winter … but it’s creating shadows everywhere.

Have to give Andrew a huge kiss because he puts up with a lot at times like this … never complains ever, just supports me … but he is going in for a minor op with an overnight stay, in two weeks and I know he is a bit apprehensive … (never been in hospital before) … so just want to say babe my turn to be there for you and luv ya hun.

010486

Made a full A4 sheet with lots of different stamped images so that when you need a quick image to put onto a card or tag you just select the piece you want and cut out.

The piece I selected for this tag was stamped with a Hero Arts stamp called Misty Garden Pattern, stamped it … and several other images … onto acetate, turned over to wrong side and spray misted with Memories Mist …. love these … covered with diamond glaze then put copy paper over and left to dry. Used the lovely freebie butterfly from Stamping Up Magazine and the stem of the flower is a tiny bit of chiffon material I had left over from making a flower isn’t it gorge. Hope you enjoy, I certainly did and there will be another tag to share with you tomorrow … what a busy bee I’ve been, really making up for lost time ha ha.

Inky Fingers

At last finally got those fingers inky again and made a just for me tag.

010485

Used all those lovely ingredients that make your fingers mucky for days but who cares this was fun.

Stuff used … stamps, inks, crackle paint, glimmer mists, glossy accents, glamour dust, lace, charms, stitching and last but not least made a beautiful rose with fabric.

Quote was found on a great web page you can find it here.

Go Green – Colour/Recycled

Go Green … The Colour/Recycled is the challenge for Sentimental Sunday’s this week, plus a sentiment, so we would dearly love to see all your fabulous creations, be it the Colour green or Recycled, you can even use both if the fancy takes you … wahoooo … today the choice is yours. Me chose the colour green option this week so pop over and collect your freebies, see all the loooovely inspiration from the other teemies and don’t forget, if you win, you get to pick four individual sentiment sets from

The Raindrop Echo Designs Whimsy Stamp Collection.

Please, please don’t forget to add your sentiment, we have had some beautiful creations not entered into the prize draw because no sentiment was added.

Now how cute is he, another Penny Black image called … Fly Away … on my project. The tag has the actual original image stamped and coloured on it, then I scanned it and printed off a copy ready to make the card. As you can see the scanned image is much sharper and the colours have changed a little, but still not a bad likeness. I was also able to change the image so that he looked the other way. Guess what I forgot to do … put my signature on the tag … silly billy.
