FSC Meets A Playday

Fashionable Stamping Challenges want to see you Paperpiece onto your project this fortnight plus our generous sponsor Flonz Crafts will be giving the winner of this challenge $20 to spend in his shop.
Can you Adam and Eve it … that’s believe it for all you non cockney’s … this used to be my one true love with crafting … how times change.

Two crafty friends came for a play day on Monday and one brought with her the new Big Shot Pro Die Pocket Page and Tag plus all the six Prima Doll Stamps … yep she had them all, oh what a day we had … crafty heaven for all … ehhh except Andrew.

This die can only be used with the Big Shot Pro Machine … no she didn’t lug this huge beast to my house, I already have one but I didn’t have the die. As you can imagine we all had a cut out fest and then sat down and started to make our albums.

These are two of the tags which will live in the album … sorry girls had to chop off all their legs at the knees because they are just so humongous and wouldn’t fit onto the tags. The stamps are about 7.5″ up to 8″ in length … that’s large.

Prima Album 5

What better papers to use with the dolly stamps than the Graphic 45 Secret Garden Collection … now these stamps are just like Marmite … you either love them or hate them. I love them, might be something to do with the fact they have no face … not sure what that says about me!!!

Used six pages for the album and each page has a stamped girly tag poked into the pocket. Every image has been paperpieced with the G45 papers. Below is the front of the album and showing the first Prima Doll.

Prima Album

Who is this album for you ask my granddaughter … LAUREN. Her birthday is in April when she will be ten so this is her birthday card … eh album. The stamps used here are from the Prima Romantique Collection which should appeal to any little girl especially when paperpieced.

Lots more to show but that can wait for another time. Right now you should hop over and catch what all my other teemies have made … utterly amazing what you will see.

A Chilled & Calm Tag

Keeping to the theme of things used because they are flavour of the month with me, I made this tag with these gorgeous stamps from Tim Holtz. No dust growing on these yet … love them to bits.

Stamped the faces with a DI then stamped the 2 green clocks off the page. Next came the water throwing, which at this stage left it to dry and made myself a Latte with the new little gadget Andrew bought for me.

Whilst drying the moulding paste jumped into my little puddies and cried use me, who could resist. Put some in a little pot and mixed with an acrylic paint called Sage. Gently dragged it though a Prima 12 x 12 Clock Mask, again left to dry … finished the last slurp of Latte before stamping another clock into the middle. The leaf and torn brown clock were stamped onto kitchen roll and added with Modge Podge. A left over flower from one of my classes, a little ribbon, three eyelets and voilà my finished tag.

Faces

Tomorrow you get to see what I have made for the new challenge at Fashionable Stamping Challenges, very girly girly.

The project came about because it was bank holiday Monday here in Ireland and two friends came for a play day at my house … enough said until tomorrow!!!

Another little sneak peak below and maybe you can guess what the challenge is???

Window Of Flowers

Just popping in quickly to show this card which has the most adorable image on it from Nicecrane Designs and you can find her here.. Used the window die again because it is my fave at the moment.

Tend to do that when I buy something which I really like … flog it to death … then on the shelf for a few months gathering dust. Hands up among you crafters who doesn’t do that with their new goodies.

Pretty Girl

Here is a little sneak peak of what I will be showing for my Fashionable Stamping Challenge Project on Sunday … you will just have to pop back to see what I have made with them.

Swirls At FSC

Lots of exciting things happening at Fashionable Stamping Challenges.

Firstly FSC has their very own DOTCOM address which is www.fashionablestampingchallenges.com this means that if you have us in your bookmarks or favourites can you please make sure you update your link.

Another piece of exciting news we have a new sponsor called Flonzcrafts who will be giving the winner of each challenge $20 to spend in his store. Now that really is amazing. So what will you have to do this fortnight to win this fabulous prize … just show us those SWIRLS.

The DT sweeties have really pushed the boat out and made some truly inspirational pieces for you to have a look at.

Below is a card which I made for a friends birthday, she is very elegant and wears some amazing outfits and these stamps were just right. You can find one set here and the other here.

This works out really well for an inspirational piece at Vintage Stamping Challenges, their challenge theme is Spring Is In The Air.

Ensemble Of Elegance

Feeling more confident with the continuation of the journal so I started this page from scratch, mmmm might be using that book soon!!!

Sorry for the glare from the camera but after the Gesso layer and the Dylusions ink – Vibrant Turquoise I worked with an opalescent texture paint. Not only that but I painted with the Adirondack Dimensional PearlsStream (yep they watercolour) this matches the Dylusions ink beautifully. Not surprised one bit about the glare because the whole ensemble is very shiny … gorgeous. Another paint which I coloured with is the Martha Stewart acrylic satin called Jonqil.

Entering for the Crazy Amigo Challenge – Woman

Journey Of The Birds

Another page finished from my new venture into Art Journalling.

I loved the before but the after was so much fun to do. Printed the birds in black and white onto tissue paper then coloured in with acrylic paint and a Letraset 1.0 black pen, then shaded with my finger whilst still wet. Lots of shading with my finger on this page as I found it gave a better definition around the images. Stamped the large Vintage stamp from Artemio as a backdrop for the sentiment Joy Of Journey from Stampendous.

Had to use the frantage, plus whilst still hot did lots of finger dragging … must be something about getting my mits dirty!!! Blended a little Black Soot ink around the edges just to take away some of the whiteness.

The die cut background on the first page is a left over piece of grease proof paper.
It must have fallen onto the floor when I took out the original cardstock … used it to release the die easier on another project … but because it is as light as a feather, didn’t realise this had happened. Andrew found it and left on my desk. What can a girl do with such a flimsy piece but add to the background.

Hope you enjoy these pages, you can see the original post here.

Spring Is In The Air

Vintage Stamping Challenges are feeling all warm and sunny for their challenge this month, Spring Is In The Air.

My DT card is very fresh and clean so different from my last post no inky fingers when making this card plus my fingers are nearly clean again.

Because the Lady Painting stamp was already on my desk from the last project I used her again for this card.
The image is from our sponsor Leo at Flonzcrafts and you can find her here.

Acetate has been added to the window die which is from Tonic, take a peek to see more of their products.
For the larger butterfly I first stamped onto the card then stamped once onto blue paper, stamped again onto yellow paper. Cut the two butterflies out and layered over the first stamped image. This gives a real 3D image. Really love the stamped sentiment which just makes you melt when you read it.

How generous is Leo from Flonzcrafts he will be letting the winner of this challenge choose $20 worth of stamps from his shop. You have one month to enter the challenge so thinking caps on and show us how you are so looking forward to Spring.

Hope you enjoy the card and if you want to see more pieces from my DT sisters please hop on over and leave them some love.

New Foray

Well here goes … this is my first foray into the world of journalling …
basically it’s me finally attacking a new venture of Art Journalling.

Long post so sit down with a cuppa/wine and let the

Journey Begin

Went to a craft extravaganza in Athlone yesterday hosted by Kate from Create With Kate and joined Karen’s class where a few of us started on another journey in the world of crafting. Wish you could have seen us, we had such a ball plus my fingers look as if they have been living in a coal bucket.

I have been dabbling for ages … just haven’t had enough confidence to show all the weird experiments which I have been doing.

Come on you all know what it’s like when you try something new nothing is good enough. I just needed a gentle shove in my confidence and that is what I got from Karen yesterday so a huge thank you sweetie pie because this is where my journey into journalling will begin.

I bought the Dylusions Journal but will definitely NOT be using until I am ready … that’s the neat freak in me, just don’t want to mess it up … OK those little minds are whirring and saying … “but isn’t this a messy craft Shirley”!!!! … I know sad or what 😯

We started three pages in a gorgeous book which we were given (guess what I didn’t want to mess this up either, just wanted to stroke it) using different mediums so below you will see the before piccies and one of the pages completely finished .. tah dah … here goes … what do you think?

Be gentle with those comments please I feel fragile enough with this new venture!!!! 😀 but also I would like your comments on where you think I am going wrong. The quicker I learn the quicker I can use my new book (ummmm maybe, might just stroke this forever)… enough of the waffling here goes …

Before piccies which I really was very pleased with.
When I showed my work to Andrew this morning I so wished I had the camera in my hand, the look on his face was priceless. I’m sure he was thinking …

OMG not sure which Shirley I would rather have. The one who used to clean the house like a maniac and move all the furniture so that in the night I bumped into something which wasn’t there the day before or the Shirley who spent so much money on card stuff and hasn’t used most of it. Wow what is this going to cost me now!!!!

He of little faith, wait until he knows there is a buyer out there just waiting to part with mega bucks for one of these pages!!! Seriously, he never said a word.

Relax babykins I have most of the stuff … (she says with her fingers crossed behind her back only a little white lie, OK maybe a huge whopper).

This is one of the pages finished and I am totally in love with it … can’t wait to finish the other two … wahoo.

In Karen’s book, she had a page which I fell in love with and I so want to make someday, so watch this space for more pages in my little book … still not using my new dylusions book just yet.

Friendship Is Everything

Made a handbag card for today’s class plus we are using the bleach technique again … see post below. Very clean and simple lines for me!!!

This time I have stamped and embossed with white embossing powder, then coloured the inside of the roses with bleach.
The handbag closes shut with two magnetic circles which are hidden by the papers.

Picture not very good … shouldn’t complain really after the winter we have had … but the sun is shining so bright again today and my camera does not like it.

The above is one side of the handbag when opened and below is both sides.

Up Up & Away

Before I show this weeks class card I really should show what we made last week.
We did a bleach technique but instead of stamping with it we coloured instead.
Stamped the Hot Air Balloon from the Grand Tour Collection at Indigo Blue … I actually won this set from Craft Stamper Magazine … then heat embossed with black powder.

Always test a piece of your cardstock first to see how much colour will bleach out. With a small paint brush, paint the bleach over the stamped image … do not go to near the edges as it will bleed. Next dab the bleach around the edges.

Chose a darker cardstock for the tag which I then stamped all over with a script image (no embossing this time). Covered very lightly with a coating of gesso, then again dabbed the bleach around the edges.

The bleach doesn’t interfere with the stamped script, it actually takes out the colour of the cardstock allowing the script to show better. We then stamped and embossed with white powder a sentiment in the centre. Attached the balloon image to the card but left a pocket for the tag to slot into.

This made such an elegant looking man’s card, enjoy … plus I will be back later with this week’s class make.
