Captured Forever

Each year on my birthday one memory always comes to mind … something that somebody said to me many years ago. It always triggers a picture of me holding my mum’s hand as she is standing speaking to a friend. I can remember the day as if it were yesterday.

It was my birthday, so I didn’t want to stand around chatting. I was doing the usual child thing, fidgeting about, bored and saying “Are we going now?”. Her friend laughed and turned to me saying “make the most of today because as you get older they will come around so fast and you won’t want them to”. I can remember thinking gosh it takes ages for a birthday to come around. As a child I didn’t realise the meaning of those words … I do now.

Who watches The Paradise, just love the clothes … especially what Katherine wears … and the era? Last week’s episode was the taking of photos. How stern did they look when posing, no sunny smiling faces in those days.

Used another freebie image from Astrid. Thanks for these, sweets, we really appreciate all your hard work in giving us these.

Made this 5 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ photo frame. Forgot to take a photo of the back but I used the Sizzix Small Easel Die which makes a terrific stand. Cut the Sizzix Scalloped Frame three times then layered one on top of each other so that I could recess the photo. How terrified do they look!!!

December’s main theme at Crafts-Too-Challenge You is The Natural World. There are two parts to the monthly challenge and today we are starting the first part which is add a flower.

Used a Crafts Too stencil with some molding paste to create the rose effect, the flourish die is also a Crafts Too. The larger flowers are a Stampin Up stamp called Flower Shop.

The rest of the design team have worked really hard to bring you some amazing inspiration so pop here to have a peek.

Funkie Junkie 12 Tags Of Christmas – #10

Christmas Tag #10 – Funky Junky Style

#1 tag is here with the rules. Linda’s # 10 tag and the Funkie Junkie Boutique is here. That’s it I am up to date that is until Monday when Linda will be posting her #10 tag.

Not long now and I can put away my Christmas stash … truthfully … how many of you can’t wait to do the same?? Borrowed a friends holly punch to make this tag as I wanted to take my inspiration from Linda’s leaves and the red berries. Guess who’s hoping that she can get some Christmas crafting goodies in the New Year sales!!!

Cold & Frosty Colours

This month is Cold and Frosty Colours at Vintage Stamping Challenges.

That’s what I love about challenges you can interpret the theme anyway you want. Sometimes you might not be thinking along the same lines as others but thinking outside the box is definitely what we love to see at Vintage Stamping Challenges.

How cold and frosty does she look and Mr Owl looks quite chilled as well so I surrounded them with colours that I thought went well with their mood.

So that is where my card started, with that very chilling icy look of hers and his, then I built the colours and card around it. You can find Mr Chilly here at Flonz Crafts. Printed her onto canvas.

The birds are a Crafty Individuals stamp but the tree is so old I am unsure where it came from.

This Is Where I Would Love To Be At The Moment

I don’t do enough of these one layer projects. Not sure why because you can pack as much into them as an OTT layered card.

Fashionable Stamping Challenges this fortnight is:

In The Holiday Spirit.

Our fabulous teamie sister Terry picked the theme this fortnight and all I can say is thanks babe it gave me the chance to get away from those gggrrrr Christmas cards (Christmas I love to bits, cards maybe not) and just play away.

Dot and I went for a holiday theme, mine is a wish you were here Postcard of France and hers is a bathing beauty. Now some of you eager beavers will spot that France isn’t exactly hot at this time of the year but a girl can dream can’t she!!! And it was the only stamp I had with the name of a country.

This image always reminds me of my two granddaughter’s, Amber and Lauren. Getting homesick so I am going to stop right there.

Loved doing this postcard so much that whilst all the goodies were still on the desk I made another, just slightly different.

The Crafty Individuals stamp CI – 283 was just perfect for the postcard. Then came the inks, paint and pure heaven on a piece of card.

Please please pop on over for a peak at what the rest of the Fashionettes have created they are all stunning as usual..
