One Of Those Spooky Moments

Definitely had a spooky moment this morning when I visited Yvonne’s blog Meggy’s Way as she was showing a card that she had made with coffee stirrers!!!

The spooky part is that last Thursday I was crafting with a friend who was having a clear out of her old stash.  She had loads of coffee sticks that she had collected from various coffee shops (as you do!!!) and she was going to bin them because she didn’t know what to do with them.  Also she had something new in her stash, Gelatos which she had bought on my recommendation.

Did a quick make for her where I combined 4 of the coffee sticks to make a frame and used the Gelatos for the background to give her a few ideas.

Didn’t get to finish the card whilst with Pam so I took it home with me ready to finish off.  Finished it this morning ready to take the photos.

Delayed the photo taking, as usual, by having a quick hop around blogland and … woah … when I hopped onto Yvonne’s blog she had posted a card where she had used ….. coffee stirrers.  Now tell me that’s not spooky.

The coffee cup, world and the globe are all stamps from Stampin Up.  The pics are from the Ephemera Pack by Tim Holtz.

The Saturday Class Was ‘All About The Men’

The FSC challenge this month is All About The Men and again I have combined my card with the Saturday class (two birds with one stone and all that)!!!

To enhance the background I dry embossed onto black cardstock, then using the best tool ever … (my own little itsy bitsy index finger) delicately proceeded to spread gilding wax over everything to highlight the clocks.  Next using the same delicate little itsy bitsy index finger (cleaned it first) dipped it into the Gesso pot and lightly feathered it over the edges.

Definitely not a fan of using mirri card but sometimes a piece just cries out for it and this was that time.  Mat and layered it behind the background and also the stamped images.  You can find the handsome suave hunk (George Clooney lookalike) here.

We had a real disruption in the class this week … Crafty Friend Turned Up … and to say it was raucous would be an understatement.  We probably laughed all through the making of each piece and how anyone got anything made is a mystery to me.

Here is the second card they made.  This time there was lots of inking, white embossing and stencilling going on plus the ripping of vellum.

I would love it if you hopped on over to see all the DT’s work as they are simply stunning.  Also don’t forget that the winner of this challenge has $20 to choose anything they like from Flonz’s store.

Congratulations My Beautiful Granddaughter

How proud is this grandma and grandad today???

VERY PROUD INDEED

Amber passed her theory test first go and now she has just passed her driving test first time round with zero minors.  This is quite rare apparently.

How cool is that at 17?

Mummy and daddy have already bought her first car for her … just the insurance to find now!!!  Good luck with that Amber.

New Journalling Classes

My Saturday class have all bought a new Journal book each because they all want to go to another level with their inking, layering and stamping.

I created this page to show them the type of things they will be doing in their new books.

Page close up.

Time For Some Travel

Below is my make for Vintage Stamping Challenges and the theme this month was picked by the lovely Claire which is all about Travelling.

Seeings as how we are in the holiday season most of us will be travelling around on our hols so what better theme could there be.

I picked two stamps here and here to use on my card from Flonz’s range of beautiful stamps.

Molding paste was spread through a honeycomb stencil then crackle paste added over the top.

The gentleman on the old fashioned bike is tissue paper which was applied with mod podge over the paste and crackle.
