All Things Bright And Beautiful

Had a Skyping session with Irene yesterday where we played around with AquaTint Inks on a card.

This tag came about after our Skyping session because I still had some AquaTint Inks left in my palette which I wanted to use up.  Hence this very vibrant looking tag, used the brights set of inks so it was bound to be colourful.

Stampotique Designers Challenge have a theme at the moment which asks for Bright Colours.  This is definitely wear your sunglasses time when looking at it.  Used this cute stamp again called Lovely are the sound  (previous tag) but gave him a hat this time round.

Soon Be Christmas

Nearly into December so the class this week are making Christmas cards … again!!!

This time we are aiming for a really pretty grungy look with lots of messy paints and glitter.

The alterations window die is probably one of my all time favourite dies to use, especially in conjunction with Sheena’s ‘A Little Bit Festive’ stamps.

France Is In Our Thoughts

Thank you everybody for your kind comments on the tag I made yesterday as I know out there in blogland it is total bewilderment.

Just a little excerpt from a comment that Dot left …
“Lives lost, lives changed forever, and those feeling overwhelmed with what is happening in our world”.

Today I am showing the second tag I have made.

Blue Is Beautiful

Started this page a while back but because I caught Mr Nasty Cold have only just got around to finishing.

Have a few journalling books on the go, this one is the A4 size.

The photos below shows the first half of the two pages with a few added embellishments.

The second side I decided on no embellishments because I wanted to keep it uncluttered

A Forgotten Posting

Whilst posting my tag below I noticed I still had a post in draft.  How different is this from the tag below!!!!

This is a card we made a few weeks back in the class and I forgot to post.

The flower head has been coloured in with acrylic paints but the stem and leaves have been left plain.

Everything about this is CAS plus all the stamps used are from Stampin Up.

Live In The Moment

Metal embellishments aren’t usually my thing (even though I have loads of them).  Decided to change all that and in the future I will use as many as I can on my work.

Two down umpteen to go.
(Wonder how long this will last.)

Winter In Paris

The new challenge at FSC  this month is ‘Winter In Paris’.  Our lovely Dani chose the new theme and oh my the design team have really made the catwalk come alive with their stunning pieces.

It’s a great feeling when you dust off some old stamps and use them again and that’s just what happened with these Clarity ones.  Used to use them a lot yonks ago but sadly over the years they have just lain in a drawer.  I am sure they were probably the first stamps I bought on my very first foray to Ally Pally (quite some years ago now).  Also met the lovely Barbara Gray who was demonstrating them (she wasn’t so famous at the time) but needless to say I had to have them.

Another one layer card and the other stamps used are the trees and sun from Stampin Up plus the stenciled image ‘Francais’ is from DecoArt.

Stamped the lady first then masked off to protect her whilst doing all the other inking and stencilling behind her back … lol.

I would love it if you hopped on over to see all the DT’s work as they are simply stunning.  Also don’t forget that the winner of this challenge has $20 to choose anything they like from Flonz’s store.

Flicking And Dripping White Paint

Crafty friend came to stay last weekend where she joined in with my class.  As you can imagine it was chaos but very enjoyable and hugely funny.  It sure cheered me up I can tell you.

Whilst waiting for the class to start we had a play around in my craft room with some new PB stamps of mine.  We inked onto watercolour card before stamping the flowers.

Finally finished my piece by adding a Scribbly Bird stamp by Dina Wakley which I coloured with chalk inks and paint.  Dribbled white acrylic paint in the right hand corner before flicking with more paint.

I am sure Crafty friend hasn’t even looked at hers yet let alone finished it!!!

The close up shows the stencilled flowers and the modelling paste which I coloured over the top.

This is the journal page which the girls and crafty friend made in the class, very different from the above make.  Much more vibrant and very Autumnal looking.

How different each journal page looked from the next.  We used Gelatos for the background colours with loads of stamping and stencilling.

Well done girls by the time we had finished each page looked stunning.

Life Works In Mysterious Ways

A few weeks back Andrew took to his bed with a really bad dose of the flu … so I donned my Florence Nightingale nurse’s cap and looked after him.  Dear little lamb really was poorly.  Lucky enough I didn’t get a hint of the sniffles.

Travelled back from the UK two weeks ago after spending a fabulous time with all the family and guess who woke up the next day with the most horrendous racking cough and cold.  How does that work????  Hence very little on the blogging front has been accomplished.

Whilst everyone was either at school, college or working I had three fabulous days of crafting with Irene.  We each had two projects on the go which we were trying to finish. I still have two projects to finish!!!!  Not even sure that Irene has finished hers yet either.

So the clocks have gone back and now we are into November which means a new challenge at Vintage Stamping Challenges where this month’s theme is  ‘Traditional Christmas’.  The lovely Brenda chose it.

Very different for me this time round, I have made an 8″ x 8″ card.  Cut a window aperture with a very old Cookie Cutter die and placed a stamped image behind.  The background was made with a brick stencil and molding paste.  Painted and inked over when it was dry  before finger dabbing with gilding wax.

1

Before putting the die cut window through an embossing folder I stamped all over with a background stamp then lastly finger dabbed with gilding wax.  Used an Anna Griffin bunting stamp which also came with a little alphabet set and spelt out Merry Christmas.

I really hope that you can join us for this month’s challenge.  To enter just click Mr Linky at the bottom of the VSC web page and maybe it could be you who wins the $20 from Flonz’s store.

Please visit the DT’s blogs for more inspiration and also it would be nice to leave them some love.
