Back Cover Of A Little ATC Book

When this is posted I’ll be heading off to the UK for a quick visit to see two of my brothers.

The fur babies are being left in the capable hands of Andrew, which they will totally love as he is the one who feeds them.

Thought I would whet your appetite and leave you a teasing look at the back cover of an ATC Book, which was made from scratch, with grey board.

Join FSC With Beautiful Blooms

FSC is into ‘Beautiful Blooms’ for this month’s challenge which the lovely Claire picked.  My card managed to meander into a very collaged vintage piece all on it’s own.

The beautiful stamped blooms are from a Studio 490 set called ‘Wildflower Art‘.  Fussy cut them before colouring and adding glossy accents.

If you look very closely you will see some torn tea bags on either side of the card which gives it a rather nice tatty feel.

I have Dot to thank for the reminder about tea bags.  She has just started into her tea bag phase which reminded me that I have a box full of dried out tea bags left over from my itty bitty Tea Bag Book  which was made a while back.  Gosh that was 18 months ago and it was also a DT piece for FSC.  Anyways these are now crying out to be used hence the shredded pieces added to the card.

Just one close up pic which shows some of the layered ephemera and stitching.

Sorry about the glare from the flower on the tag but that’s the camera picking up the shine from the glossy accents.

I would love it if you hopped on over to see all the DT’s work as they are simply stunning.  Also don’t forget that the winner of this challenge has $20 to choose anything they like from Flonz’s store.

A Look Of Haughty Disdain

In my previous post I made a canvas with a rust technique and just knew the girls would love to do this so in the class today we made a miniature version.

Lots of painty dimension was added to a 5″ x 7″ canvas plus they used a product which they have never used before … ‘Beeswax’.

All the images were stamped onto tissue paper before adding a wash of colour onto the back.

Now as you know, tissue paper when wet becomes very tricky to use and shreds rather easily.  Everything nearly went to pot but all was rectified in the end and each went home with a rather tasty looking canvas.

Father’s Day Wall Hanging

As I am off home soon and Father’s Day is fast approaching I have made this canvas board wall hanging for the grandchildren to give to their dad.

Before the canvas can be hung I need to source some sturdy wire but the eyelets are in place ready and waiting.

The edges have been given a makeover with the rust technique which Andy Skinner shows how to do on one of his youtube videos.  The three toffs have been stamped onto corrugated cardboard then covered with melted wax.

A wash of metallic silver paint was also added to the board which is something I very rarely use (if ever).

I wanted to try to hide the gentlemen in the corner with the binoculars so added a few layers of black paint, then a layer of melted wax before trying to scrape some away.  Very pleased with the result and think I achieved what I set out to do.
