Showing two more pages today from my Stamp Journal. Not sure if you saw my other posts about this book but only stamps and inks are allowed.
Two colour ink pads were used on both pages, Memento Summer Sky and New Sprout.
For those keen eyed crafters who say they can see the colour black … this wasn’t mentioned because technically black isn’t a colour, or white for that matter.
A variety of stamps are in play on the pages and there is a list below showing but a few of what was used.

Whilst giving the ‘Craft Cranny’ a tidy up I came across this Shabby Chic styled book that I gave a class on with my Saturday girls last year but never blogged.
It has separate signatures, so when opened it lays flat. You can make this style of book with as many papers and signatures as you want.
Here is a larger Shabby Chic styled Junk Journal which I made in a similar way.
The cotton running stitches on the sides show that there are four signatures in this book.
Front cover is made of material with ‘Heat n Bond’ fused to the back. This makes it rigid, almost feels like cardstock.
Then the fun part begins, throw whatever you like at it.
Gesso was randomly painted all over, then came modelling paste through a stencil, next was pretty pieces of lace and netting which surrounded the image before lastly adding more Gesso.
Here comes the excessive quantity of photos lol.
First pic has such a beautiful image on the left which was done using the Image Transfer Technique. Not the one where you leave to dry then wet and rub off with your fingers, oh no, tooooo messy.
The method used here is where you adhere it with glue, then smooth flat with a credit card before peeling off gently. This leaves more of a shabby, distressed look but is not so time consuming as the other way.
Most of the the papers in this book were dyed by myself with coffee.
Try to make a day of it when dying papers because nothing is safe from the wet coffee mixture.
Before drying the papers in the oven place a doily on top of the wet paper then dry. Below is how the papers look, cool eh!!!
When finished place everything in a plastic container ready for another day’s crafting.
Again this first pic of a very austere but regal lady was done by image transfer. Bird and numbers were stencilled onto coffee dyed paper.
Created lots of pockets for tags plus most pages have stamping on them.
Nearly all the tags going into the pockets are from G45 and you can just see hints of washi tape used for decoration.
We’ve put the clean and tidy journal away for the moment and created two pages in the mixed media one instead.
A very different journal indeed, all grungy and painty with loads of texture, this is definitely the touchy feely one of the two.
Not much colour used on these pages because the previous ones here were very vibrant and busy so a more subtle tone was called for.
Out came the Pebeo modeling paste plus some Tim Holtz tissue paper. Chalk paints were used alongside some dry brushing with Gesso.

Not much been going on in my ‘Crafty Cranny’ simply because I have been MIA again (another short break to the UK).
That’s the holidays over for the time being, next break is AUSTRALIA.
FSC wants to see ‘Modes Of Transport’ for this month’s challenge which the lovely Dani picked as her theme.
It’s all about my stamp journal again, love the neat, crisp, clean look of these pages. Getting to use loads of my stamps which have been gathering dust for tooooo long. Only inks and stamps are used in this book … see first pages here.
For these pages I did a “before and after” starting with the horse then moving onto a motor vehicle before finishing with a van.
By the way the motor vehicle and the van set were both virgin stamps. It’s OK, both wrists have been slapped, especially as I have had the PaperArtsy set for about five years and the car for two.
Reverse masked the horses then dappled with coloured spots.
Can you believe that the last time I used these Visible Image stamps was in April 2015 here just after I had bought them at Ally Pally.
Masked off the ‘AFTER’ and also the van then stamped over with a crackle stamp.
All stamps used for the journal pages, inks are a mixture of Versafine and Memento.
