Face Your Fears – I Dare You

We’ve put the clean and tidy journal away for the moment and created two pages in the mixed media one instead.

A very different journal indeed, all grungy and painty with loads of texture, this is definitely the touchy feely one of the two.

Not much colour used on these pages because the previous ones here were very vibrant and busy so a more subtle tone was called for.

Out came the Pebeo modeling paste plus some Tim Holtz tissue paper.  Chalk paints were used alongside some dry brushing with Gesso.

Selection of stamps, stencils and tissue paper used.

Andy Skinner Back On Hochanda

Didn’t buy a thing when Andy was last on Hochanda in August because I bought a lot of DecoArt products from The Craft Channel when he aired there last year

He’s back on Hochanda today showing some different goodies but this time round, not sure how it happened, but things just fell into my basket.

Hope they get here before Christmas so that I can have a play.

Totally been using the other goodies just never get around to showing anything made with them.

Sandra this is definitely grunged up and yes my fingers were twitching to distress the edges on the last card – your comment made me laugh.

As soon as my goodies arrived this was my very first project which made me extremely happy as it turned out not too bad for a first go.

Andy was at the other channel on 22nd October 2015 so this has to be at least a year old.

Father’s Day Wall Hanging

As I am off home soon and Father’s Day is fast approaching I have made this canvas board wall hanging for the grandchildren to give to their dad.

Before the canvas can be hung I need to source some sturdy wire but the eyelets are in place ready and waiting.

The edges have been given a makeover with the rust technique which Andy Skinner shows how to do on one of his youtube videos.  The three toffs have been stamped onto corrugated cardboard then covered with melted wax.

A wash of metallic silver paint was also added to the board which is something I very rarely use (if ever).

I wanted to try to hide the gentlemen in the corner with the binoculars so added a few layers of black paint, then a layer of melted wax before trying to scrape some away.  Very pleased with the result and think I achieved what I set out to do.

Sticky Backed Canvas

Bet I’m not the only one with the dreaded cold but thankfully it’s nearly gone.  Didn’t feel like making anything so I am showing something that I made about 8 months ago.  It was when Irene was over for a holiday and we toured the West of Ireland.

Had a play with sticky backed canvas which I stuck onto one of the pages of a little gatefold album.  Used DI inks and also a mask from Andy Skinner called ‘Made To Measure’.  Only used elements from this mask but I also used two other masks which I can’t remember the names of.

Might not have made anything this week but I have been playing with my Christmas Present.

Wahooooo I got a Brother Scan and Cut.  Been having the time of my life with loads of paper being scanned.  Finally cut into some of those G45 papers that were bought only for stroking.
