An Anything Goes At FSC This Month

For this month it’s an ‘Anything Goes’ at FSC which couldn’t be easier for everyone.

Stamped onto some water colour cardstock using several different coloured inkpads and stamps.

All the main focal stamping has been done with a black Versamark pad.

Would really love it if you hopped on over to see all the DT’s work as they are simply stunning.

Ink Art Designs Etsy Shop is sponsoring FSC and they will be offering a stamp for the winner of each new challenge.

FSC – Animals – Class Make

FSC wants to see animals this month which the lovely Carola picked as her theme.

Been having a huge clear out in the craft room as Andrew is now working from home and I have given over half of my workspace to him.

The good news is that I now have two craft rooms as most of my non messy crafting has been moved into another room.

Only left my paints, spray inks, molding paste and other messy crafty things in with Andrew.

We still share the room during the morning but because he has lots of conference calls in the afternoon I then retreat to my other space.

Got these pretty lacy cards from C & C a few years back but just found them buried beneath loads of crafting stash.

They have got to be used up!!!!

My youngest grandchild Lauren turns 15 this month and I had this in mind when making my class card but per usual I found it hard to stop fiddling with it.

Should have left the flowers off which would have made it reasonably un-fussy for her.  Yet another card for Clare!!!

We made a mood board again but this time with inks and stencils before stamping over with white embossing powder.

The ‘Iron Off Emboss Resist’ technique then came into play because as you know trying to stamp onto an embossed area is not the best idea.

With a large Spellbinders die, part of the mood board was cut then stamped with a Carabelle image.

The little squirrel is also from Carabelle.

The remaining mood board was used for stamping flowers and punching out leaves.

My classes always start with the showing of the card that the girls will be making and then I demonstrate how they will be doing it.

The mood board below is the one I was demonstrating for the class and as you can see different colours and stamps were used.

All stamps are from Stampin Up plus the inks.  It is unfinished as I only had time to do one little piece of stencilling.

Will finish this week and then show you what I make fom it.

Would really love it if you hopped on over to see all the DT’s work as they are simply stunning.

All About The Leftovers

It wasn’t just about the cards in the class on Saturday but also with regards to the leftover paint and ink which is usually always left on the craft sheet.

The girls were asked to bring along their Art journals so they could mop up their leftovers in it.

This also gave the girls homework.  I asked them to finish their journal pages at home, bring back next week, then we could see how each completed their pages.

My finished pages, hopefully it’s a little inspiration, especially for Phil,  lol … (she’ll understand).  Worked on my mop up pages after the class had finished.

These are the two cards I taught in the class.

Tim Holtz Distress Oxides

Definitely look forward to April as this is when I go home, stay with the family, then trot off to Ally Pally.

Not this year, first time of missing the show since it started.  Family all flew to Spain for an Easter break plus my brother and SIL decided to go to Somerset.

What about all that money I saved? Yeah, as if … went on a spending spree at HochandaCarabelle Studio and Frantic Stamper.

Had the MISTI tool for awhile now and I have always been tempted to buy the larger version but so glad I didn’t because one of my purchases at Hochanda is the new Tim Holtz Stamp Platform … and all the Pebeo paints plus Sheena’s newest stamps and dies!!!!

Sorry Mrs MISTI looks as if you are going to be redundant!!!!

All the Oxide Inks arrived a few weeks back … it only took a week from the time I put in the order until they arrived.

Didn’t dive in and play right away, waited until I felt the time was right to have a go with them.  Made a few different makes using various colours and techniques.

Wanted to find out how good the image looked when stamped with the inks and also how they reacted to colouring in with a water brush.

Just took my time and slowly added water as I went along.  At each stage if I was happy with how it looked then out came the heat gun to dry.

DO’s used are: Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain also used the DI Black Soot.

Next make is completely different plus more colours used.

The card above uses DO’s – fossilized amber, worn lipstick, broken china and spiced marmalade.

All the colours were blended onto an A4 card which was then die cut with one of Sheena’s newest dies also the Thinlits Wildflower die set.

Stamped onto some of the waste card and fussy cut the lady plus some butterflies before adding onto the card.

List of stamps used.

A Little Birdie Told Me

Showing two more pages today from my Stamp Journal.  Not sure if you saw my other posts about this book but only stamps and inks are allowed.

Two colour ink pads were used on both pages, Memento Summer Sky and New Sprout.

For those keen eyed crafters who say they can see the colour black … this wasn’t mentioned because technically black isn’t a colour, or white for that matter.

A variety of stamps are in play on the pages and there is a list below showing but a few of what was used.

Starting A Journey With All My Stamps

Today is the start of another journal … but this one is going to be all about my Journey with stamps.

What prompted me to start another Journal … it’s because I’m addicted to buying beautiful rubber stamps but alas I don’t seem to use them as often as I should.  Going back to the UK this week and what’s at home waiting for me … yep you guessed more rubber stamps.

Below is a selection of gorgeous stamps which were part of my Christmas present and all are unused.  Not anymore!!!

No more will they lay gathering dust in my craft room, no more will they be un-inked for today sees the first two pages in my Stamp Journal.

There are just loads and loads of techniques that you can do with stamps so this journal will not include any paints, stencils, die cuts etc just inks, embossing powders and stamps.

Only two techniques were used on these pages, masking plus reverse masking.

With the Stampendous ‘Life Is Art Stamp’ I replaced the word paint with the word stamp.  Did a bit of reverse masking with the clock.

Making these two pages today gave me so much pleasure because I have at last, made a start, on those uninked stamps.

Showing the stamps used on the two pages.
