New Distress Oxides In Play

For this month’s challenge FSC is going with the theme of ‘Use Your Inks Anyway You Like’ which the lovely Dot picked.

My card below uses inks from the 1st set of Distress Oxides – vintage photo, iced spruce and fossilized amber.

Also rearing their heads are inks from the new 2nd set – frayed burlap and antique linen.

My preferred choice of card, for inks, is watercolour cardstock which I use a lot more of since the stamp positioners came into play.

Ring stamp is from Stampers Anonymous and I did the Iron Off Embossing Technique so that everything lays flat on the card with no shiny bits.

The other stamp is from Dina Wakley.

Would really love it if you hopped on over to see all the DT’s work as they are simply stunning.

Ink Art Designs Etsy Shop is sponsoring FSC and they will be offering a stamp for the winner of each new challenge.

Enough Is Enough – No More Birthday Cards For JP

Dot was tired by the time we finished Skyping today but I had time to show her the card I was working on.

Sometimes we have a good connection and sometimes not … so not sure how much she saw of the card … hope she likes what she sees in the flesh.

Used Dina Wakley stamps called Positive Women and Indigo Blu stamps Tasty Textures.

Paints were used for the stamping from PaperArtsy called Fresco Finish Autumn Fire and Bora Bora.

Had time to make this CAS card for JP’s birthday which means that Claire has a few to choose from.

Brenda, my lovely teamie from FSC did a post the other day here and mentioned about the stamping on her card (the trees looked drunk).  She assured us they weren’t.  Well that’s just what my sentiment stamping looks like … very wonky … but it really is straight.  Brenda I believe you!!!! lol

Made an aperture on plain white card with Sheena’s Perfect Partners Birds Of A Feather.

With a spare piece of copy paper, which had painty bits on it, I cut out another bird.

Closed the card and placed the painty die cut bird in the die cut space.  Hope you followed that girls!!!!

A Butterfly Time At FSC

FSC this month is having a Butterfly time and the lovely Dot chose the theme for us all, I really hope you will join in this month.

A vibrant and cheerful card just to put me in the mood for Spring.  Went with a yellow, orange and blue colour palette plus I used four stamps to create this piece, they are:

Dina Wakley Silhouetted Women, Studio 490 Original Art, Rangers Wings Quote and Finnabair Butterfly 3.

The butterflies are all 3D and the top two are flying her into the air.

To get this dimension, first stamp onto your card then re-stamp onto a spare piece of cardstock, cut out and layer over the original stamped image.

I would love it if you hopped on over to see all the DT’s work as they are simply stunning.  Also don’t forget that the winner of this challenge has $20 to choose anything they like from Flonz’s store.

That Time Of Year Again

Don’t you just love having birthdays?  Doesn’t matter how old you are the excitement never goes away (well not for me anyways).

Not going to say how old I am today but not quite at the three score years and ten yet!!!

Sharing with you the class cards which we made yesterday.

Made our own backgrounds on the A4 cardstock by brayering and using three different coloured inks.

My fave card from this selection is the “Cheerio Chaps” but the Dina Wakley Scribbly Birds is a close second.

More photos but this time I am showing a beautiful make that I received from Irene and as you can see a few crafting goodies were also included in the parcel.

A huge thanks “I”.

I had a really fabulous pressie from Crafty Friend (crafting of course) and Andrew bought me a light box which I have been after for ages.

Here’s a picture of what I bought for myself … as you do!!!!

Below is a pic of New Phil’s card from the  class yesterday (we call her that because there are two Phil’s)

Just had to take a photo because I loved the way her brayering on the card turned out.  The bottom piece looks just like a grassy meadow scene.

Flicking And Dripping White Paint

Crafty friend came to stay last weekend where she joined in with my class.  As you can imagine it was chaos but very enjoyable and hugely funny.  It sure cheered me up I can tell you.

Whilst waiting for the class to start we had a play around in my craft room with some new PB stamps of mine.  We inked onto watercolour card before stamping the flowers.

Finally finished my piece by adding a Scribbly Bird stamp by Dina Wakley which I coloured with chalk inks and paint.  Dribbled white acrylic paint in the right hand corner before flicking with more paint.

I am sure Crafty friend hasn’t even looked at hers yet let alone finished it!!!

The close up shows the stencilled flowers and the modelling paste which I coloured over the top.

This is the journal page which the girls and crafty friend made in the class, very different from the above make.  Much more vibrant and very Autumnal looking.

How different each journal page looked from the next.  We used Gelatos for the background colours with loads of stamping and stencilling.

Well done girls by the time we had finished each page looked stunning.
