Lauren’s Very Special Card

010180010183

Here is a very special card for a very special little girl her name is Lauren and she is my granddaughter. Have not been home yet to see my grandchildren since the beginning of March and miss them all so much.

Not sure if this has been done before …. probably has but I haven’t seen it yet …. I made the diamond pop up card for her but it looked too small so decided to put in onto an easel card …. turned out really good. If it’s out there let me know would love to see what other bloggers have created.

Made another flower with lace but to make it zing I added a paper flower, rose and a butterfly. Added lots of sparkle to her name and number also onto the stamped images. Coloured little Mimosa and Mimo Roses with pro-markers. Cut out name and number and then 3D them with foam pads.

Creatible Belli challenge wanted birthday with old and forgotton …. the old …. I used my Cricut Expression, which has been stuck in the cupboard for a long time …. Andrew bought it for Christmas for me 3 years ago, complete surprise, and I have hardly used it. Wanted to add Lauren’s name to the card so dragged it out of the cupboard …. dusted it off and set it to work. I am really going to try and get on with it. Entering for these challenges:

Isn’t she just gorgeous…. wow I just love my new digi image from Fred She Said…. Smelling the Cherry Blossoms, love these easel cards also.

Did my usual watercolouring and made my own flowers.

Wanted her hair to have a real sheen to it so added black Sakura glaze and also put red sakura glaze to the edges of her kimono and dotted the trees also. Stamped some trailing vine and grass onto the image. Papers are from Pink Petticoat, these digi papers just lend themselves to lots of different projects because you have so many colour choices.

Just couldn’t resist it and used stitching again.

The little pearl flowers are more or less the colour of the blog header for Fred She Said….

Tilda

Entering this easel card for Die Cuts r us Challenge which is to make a project inspired by the colours in the DCRU image. Have to say I just love these colours and making this card was such a pleasure.

Papers used are all from Pink Petticoat a lovely digi download shop which I found a long time ago and can’t get enough of them, I can always find a colour match for my projects.

Also for the Just Magnolia Special Monthly Challenge paper pleating, which I love and there is a fabulous tutorial by Mina.

Tilda was coloured with Copics and Pro Markers then sat her on two nesties. I stitched the paper pleating with a scalloped stitch to hold it all together. Have to say my dressmaking comes in handy at times like this but it is much easier with material than paper. Lots of matting and layering with pleating, scallops and ribbon. MS punch was used for the pleating edges and the waste pleats were added to the bottom of the card.

Stamping up punches and sentiment, along with an art impressions stamp at the top of the card, flowers, brads, gems and dew drops were all added to make Tilda look oh so pretty.

I opened the card out full length and took a picture to show you how pretty the colours are.020008010046

Easel Calendar

010038

What a day we had yesterday – no internet connection or e-mail for the whole day or night…. and sad to say I missed it. Card pictures not too good the storms made the light impossible (not taking them again).

Found these lovely papers called Golden Harvest on a digi web site – the Digichick aren’t they just fabulous. Also to buy with the set was the 2010 calendar papers.

Copied and pasted the monthly calendar into a word document and downsized so they would fit onto the card. After printing, they were all cut to the same size and stitched together so that the months when finished can be torn off easier.

Matching flowers were cut from the paper and put on the sides of the card and used a Fiskars punch to make edging strips. Two pieces of matching looped ribbon were added to the centre of each large flower – brads, ribbon and beads all from stash.

Bit time consuming to make but well worth the effort. Can see me making more and giving to friends as little gifts.

Entering into two challenges with this card
