My Sweet Rose

010170060015

What a journey I have been on with one of my fingers.

Had the joint removed on 8th September 2009….pins were inserted to fuse the bones together…only removed the pins two weeks ago….finally after seven months of awkwardness they took the stitches out yesterday (stitches weren’t in seven months LOL) and my finger has healed beautifully.

Another journey starts today, Andrew and I will be at Waterford hospital all day again will update later.

Roses are my favourite flower and my ultimate favourite is Blue Moon…such a fragrant smelling rose.

Made a box card that lays flat to go into the envelope (not sure what the proper name is) and used the Ethereal Forest Designs Rose for my centre piece…..coloured with Pro-Markers…..little confession time….wanted to use the same colours as the blue moon rose but picked up the wrong pro-marker oops-a-daisy….or in this case oops-a-rose.

Didn’t have much time to complete the project so I used the papers already on my desk from the easel card I made yesterday.

Two male cards together….. what am I on?

This is one of the eleven new Ethereal Forest Designs Store digi stamps and totally out of my comfort zone of what I usually like to colour.

Decided to use distressed inks because it was easier and totally surprised with the outcome…very pleased with it….

Hope you like the card as much as I enjoyed making it

Lily Bouquet…..

is one of the new images from Ethereal Forest Designs….haven’t coloured in many flowers but this is such a beautiful image that it was very easy to do.

Added digi sentiments as well which is another thing I don’t normally do…. until I am ready to give the card to someone… but this sentiment can be used for anything so decided to add now.

All new images are available on 1st April at Ethereal Forest Designs Store you won’t be disappointed so go and have a browse now.

Coloured with water colours and added diamond stickles.

Elymira

010149010151

Another stunning digi image from Ethereal Forest Designs this time it’s Elymira…the name alone is gorgeous.

Pop along and browse here all the other creations from the DT’s they are just stunning.

Coloured Elymira with copics, added loads of micro beads to the circles….they actually remind me of my favourite sweet in the pack of liquorice allsorts…they only come in pink or blue and are sooo yummy.

Used the Tim Holtz grunge board for the letter E which I painted with the Adirondack paint dabbers and then covered with glossy accents. Not sure who this card will be for so have left space above Elymira image for a sentiment.

Pink papers are K & Co Amy Butler and the nestie is Basic Grey, flowers, lace, beads and brads all from stash.

Enjoy looking as much as I did making

Easter Bunny Basket

010139

The Fussy and Fancy Challenge this fortnight is Easter and I have chosen an Ethereal Forest Designs Easter Bunny image…been saving this image especially for this challenge.

The Charm Barn are sponsoring this challenge and all charms used have been donated by them.

Made an Easter basket…one side has the bunny image and the other has the beautiful charm bunny ….sooo cute.

Every time I moved the basket to take a photo an egg fell off…so….as you do… I ate it. Didn’t realise until I saw the photo of the side where the charm is that I had eaten all the eggs on that side… oops.

Long story time……when home in the UK Amber’s Easter egg was sitting in a little box and I realised I could take it apart and make a template of it. It was too big to fit on an A4 sheet so after quite some time…. and a few chosen words….Andrew and I made a new template….had just made the basket up with copy paper… just to make sure it worked OK… when in walked JP and Clare and what had they bought me the same Easter egg but in a smaller basket…again a few choice words were uttered.

010146

Coloured bunny with USArt sparkling pearlescent pastels, added diamond glaze to the eggs and a pearl for his eye…..really lovely effect. His ears and tail are covered with flower soft which I then painted over.

Flowers are made with tissue paper and gives a soft and floaty look to the basket….have placed tiny little flower baubles in the middle of each. At one end of the basket there is a huge chiffon bow and at the other another tissue flower. The string of beads along the scalloped edge are stitched in place and also the lace trim beads at the bottom. Petals and white flowers from stash.

Jewel Dirt

010137

The face says it all she looks so pleased with herself.

Another gorgeous digi image from Ethereal Forest Designs and this is where you can buy her.

Wow… sneak peak week starts today so keep checking out all the other DT’s blogs to see what they will be creating… don’t forget to check back here also.

A little bit about Jewel Dirt… coloured her with Copics and Promarkers….. also added a little bit of whining because I don’t have enough of either…. and guess what Andrew tells me to stop the moaning because he has ordered me the whole set of Promarkers. Guess who’s walking on cloud nine and can’t wait for them to come…. me silly.

Used the Magnolia Vintage Yellow Quilt for one of the mats… not sure of the other two and used a MS round the corner punch.

Stitched all the layers together, ribbon, brads, flowers and card candy all from stash.

Sydney Snake

010121

Want to say a huge thank you for the girls at Cupcake Craft Challenge for picking my card Sweetie Bear as one of their top 5. The challenge this week is ***Going Green***

010122

Sydney….wow… he is just too delish… I know, I can hear you all say….he’s a snake… but look at his face soo sweet… even I would give him a cuddle or two. You can find him here and all the other beautiful digi images at Ethereal Forest Design Store.

Have used the new ultra fine flower soft all over him and I am very impressed with the results. Was not really into the original flower soft (stop screaming at me flower soft fans) but I did use it every now and again to hi-light certain areas. Now… the ultra fine is a different matter I can see me using this a lot more (hope your all smiling now).

Papers are from Basic Grey…. Marrakech and used a forked tongue stitch….well that’s what I am calling it.

Used another of the gorgeous Nellie Snellen dies… have five at the moment but want more….they are so much cheaper than the nestabilities… which I still love. Used a nestie for the sentiment… which is also another digi image from Ethereal Forest Designs.

Button, card candy and gems all from stash.

Sweetie Bear

010112

Had a wonderful time at home (UK), really miss the grandchildren already. Both birthdays went well and can’t wait for Lauren’s birthday in April she will be seven (the baby in the family).

Sweetie Bear is another cute image and you can buy her from Ethereal Forest Designs Store along with other wonderful designs. If you enter our blog hop…. there is still time…. you never know it could be you who wins the $10 voucher and then you too can own Sweetie Bear and more.

For my card this week I printed the image directly onto the card and paper pieced it. Folded it in half and cut around the image through both pieces of card. Left a straight piece either side to give substance. The inside is decorated with two flowers and a bow. Two of the flowers are made by me and two are prima flowers. The ribbon is from my stash.

Inked, distressed and sanded sweetie bear and the eye shadow is coloured in with a sparkly Sakura pen, lace is also from stash.Entering for the:

Here is my creation for the EFD Blog Hop:

Mischievous Mary’s turn this time and I have made a four drawer box…. very difficult to take photos of the box…. there is a photo with the drawer open (great place to leave my spare flowers).

Water coloured Mary and again added diamond glaze over the top (the in thing with me at the moment). Added the sentiment….. Things….. because things are what I will be keeping in the four drawers.
