It’s Winter Time At FSC – Brrrr So Cold

Nearly two months since I have posted anything, now that’s bad … it’s not that I haven’t been making things, just more like experimenting and taking a different turn with my crafting. Have loads on the go but nothing finished.

Andrew’s mother passed away last month, she was 92, so things have been a little sad in the Chillman household.

For this month it’s ‘Winter’ at FSC the colder the better lol.

Stamped onto some beautiful material which I machine stitched onto a tag then added a die cut.  This is a double sided tag.

Below is the stamped image of whats on the other side of the tag.

This tag was going to be my piece for FSC but when I took the photo of it against some of my birthday presents it went so well with the material it was sitting on I changed my mind.

Hubby bought me a Gemini die cutting machine for my birthday and we also went out in the morning for breakfast at our fave cafe called The Book.  Will tell you more about this fabulous place another time.

After breakfast we went shopping and below is some of the stash that I bought.

The other pic is of some of the things I have been making.  More on that another time also.  Trust me I have been a very busy girl!!

The day didn’t end there, in the evening Andrew took me out for a meal and this was the biggest surprise of all.

There is a restaurant that I have been wanting to go to in Clonegal for ages and ages (in actual fact years) it’s called Sha-Roe Bistro.

Wow, I actually went there and it didn’t disappoint, it was amazing, had the best birthday ever.

Thank you again Andrew, you’re one in a million babe.

Would really love it if you hopped on over to see all the DT’s work as they are simply stunning.

FSC And Book Pages

The months just fly and fly … not sure where they go … but it’s that time again at FSC.

For this month FSC want to see ‘Book Pages’ and these could be stamped or real pages.

Chose to use real pages and used some lovely stamps from AALL & CREATE #83.

A few months back Hochanda had a great deal going for all of Fiona Paltridge’s new stamps which I couldn’t resist and this is the first one I have inked.  They have such a cute quirkiness which totally appeals to me.

Would really love it if you hopped on over to see all the DT’s work as they are simply stunning.

Quote Away At FSC This Month

FSC wants to see ‘Quotes’ for this month’s challenge.

PaperArtsy have to be up there as one of my fave all time stamps.

My quote came from the denazinski Art stamps ZA08 and the flower from EclecTica ETS08.

Would really love it if you hopped on over to see all the DT’s work as they are simply stunning.

It’s A Bug’s Life At FSC This Month

Announcement

One of the DT at FSC (Yvonne) is taking a break for September and October’s challenges so if you would like to be a guest designer for these months please mail details and you never know it just might be you as our Guest Designer.

*************************************

FSC wants to see ‘Bugs’ being used in your makes for this month’s challenge and the choice of theme was the lovely Dot’s.

Went into the Viva Las Vegas Stamp shop whilst in Vegas on my hols and OMG what an amazing place.  Truly a stamper’s paradise.

Flew on to Los Angeles after 5 days where I bought a Strathmore Mixed Media pad at Michael’s and whilst having some down time in the villa made a very quick journal page with two of the stamps I bought.

The journal page for my bugs piece uses the Butterfly Lady and also Wire Rings.

Bought quite a few Jane Davenport goodies from Michael’s also which I will post at a later date.

Would really love it if you hopped on over to see all the DT’s work as they are simply stunning.

Time To Use Those Inks At FSC

FSC wants to see those inks being used for this month challenge and the choice of theme was mine.

Inks are a great favourite of most people so I thought that this would be a perfect time to use them anyway you want.

Went for a very subtle background on my card so the main focal point would be my images.

Used the Versamark with white embossing powder and also brought out my markers for a little colouring.

Stamps are from Illusionary Artists – France Papillion

Seaside Time At FSC

FSC wants to see the Seaside this month which the lovely Hanne picked as her theme.

Wow, Summer has really arrived in this part of Ireland, we have had no rain for a few weeks now just wall to wall warm weather, long may it last!  My tan is coming along nicely just in time for my hols next month.  Not going to look like a milk bottle this year when I go away.

For some reason Clare and John-Paul let the grandkids pick where they wanted to go and they picked Las Vegas … can you believe it?  Apart from the fact that Amber and Alex can’t drink (Lauren’s still too young, only another 3 years to go) nor play at the casinos, that was their choice.

Off to see all the sights though, Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam etc.,

We made a compromise with the kids, only 5 days in Vegas then off to Los Angeles for a fortnight.

Whilst in LA Andrew and I are hopping off to San Francisco so that I can see the Golden Gate Bridge.  He’s been there before but I haven’t so now’s my chance.

Used Crafty Individual stamps for my seaside theme and also still using my dies.

Long time since I have shown a Saturday class card but better late than never eh!!!

Below are two of my makes.

My classes always start with the showing of the card that the girls will be making and then I demonstrate how they will be doing it.

We were going to make the seaside card also but there was no time left as we were running late.

I am sure there will be time in next week’s class to start it as we are only finishing off a frame that we started two weeks ago.

Would really love it if you hopped on over to see all the DT’s work as they are simply stunning.

FSC – Animals – Class Make

FSC wants to see animals this month which the lovely Carola picked as her theme.

Been having a huge clear out in the craft room as Andrew is now working from home and I have given over half of my workspace to him.

The good news is that I now have two craft rooms as most of my non messy crafting has been moved into another room.

Only left my paints, spray inks, molding paste and other messy crafty things in with Andrew.

We still share the room during the morning but because he has lots of conference calls in the afternoon I then retreat to my other space.

Got these pretty lacy cards from C & C a few years back but just found them buried beneath loads of crafting stash.

They have got to be used up!!!!

My youngest grandchild Lauren turns 15 this month and I had this in mind when making my class card but per usual I found it hard to stop fiddling with it.

Should have left the flowers off which would have made it reasonably un-fussy for her.  Yet another card for Clare!!!

We made a mood board again but this time with inks and stencils before stamping over with white embossing powder.

The ‘Iron Off Emboss Resist’ technique then came into play because as you know trying to stamp onto an embossed area is not the best idea.

With a large Spellbinders die, part of the mood board was cut then stamped with a Carabelle image.

The little squirrel is also from Carabelle.

The remaining mood board was used for stamping flowers and punching out leaves.

My classes always start with the showing of the card that the girls will be making and then I demonstrate how they will be doing it.

The mood board below is the one I was demonstrating for the class and as you can see different colours and stamps were used.

All stamps are from Stampin Up plus the inks.  It is unfinished as I only had time to do one little piece of stencilling.

Will finish this week and then show you what I make fom it.

Would really love it if you hopped on over to see all the DT’s work as they are simply stunning.

Spring Comes To FSC

We have some exciting news over on the FSC page this month as we have a new DT member starting but sadly we have lost the lovely Dani who has decided to step down.

Our new DT member is called Hanne and you can find her here.

I am sure you would all love to pop on over to say hi, also whilst there have some fun by joining in with the new challenge which is:

“Springtime”

The lovely Yvonne picked it plus I am sure it’s going to be a favourite with you all.

If it wasn’t for the snow still on the ground today would be a perfect Spring day.

I think you can tell by the photo of the card I took, the shadow from the butterfly really highlights how strong the sun is.

Decorated an envelope to match the card, love doing this especially if I am giving the card by hand.

The above card is the sample that I was demonstrating for the girls in my Saturday class which I never get to finish until the class is over.

Below is the actual card the girls made.

Would really love it if you hopped on over to see all the DT’s work as they are simply stunning.

Embarrassing First Use Of Stamp

A day late posting for this month’s challenge at FSC, so sorry, the theme is “One For The Girls” which the lovely Dot has picked.

The main focal point on my journal page is a fabulous dylusions stamp by Dyan Reaveley.
Yet another one of those stamps which hadn’t been inked until today, but she was bought in 2014!!!

Read on to see how I knew exactly when I bought it.

I first saw this stamp on my teamies blog Avril – you can see her lovely make here.  It gave me so much inspiration.
That was in August 2014… promptly bought the stamp and you can guess the rest … didn’t even use it.

To be fair moi didn’t realise how big she was.

Avril used it on another gorgeous piece here in February 2015 –
you should read my comment then – so totally embarrassing – not for Avril but for me.

Another stunning make here yet again from Avril in September 2016.
My comments are now making me red faced because the poor stamp has only just seen ink …

over three years later and I think it is now discontinued.

Would really love it if you hopped on over to see all the DT’s work as they are simply stunning.

My art journal is also dylusions but again it was bought years ago and this is only the second page used.
First pages below.

To be fair I don’t think I am the only one like this, most crafters take ages to use their stash.

The book is Dylusions Creative Journal and the stamp set is called – ‘Walk In The Park’.  Not sure if both are discontinued.

New Header And New Challenge At FSC

Happy 2018 to all of blogland and I sure hope that this year will be a good one for each of you.

Over the years I have turned more and more to paints in my artwork so what better way to start my first blog post of the year but with a new look.

The header has been designed by me and I think it depicts the work I do a lot better than my last header, hope you like it?

Saturday saw the first class of the year with my lovely ladies, Phil, Maria, Theresa and New Phil (we call her this because of there being two Phil’s but she is by no means new anymore).

These four ladies have been attending my Saturday classes for years now and we have such fun (as well as some serious moments of artwork).

It’s my turn to kick off the theme this month at FSC and my choice is an ‘ANYTHING GOES’ challenge, so I combined my FSC piece with showing them how to make a wall hanging with lots of yummy stamping and colouring.

I have used lots of stamps on this piece and all are from PaperArtsy with some added doodles from me.

PaperArtsy are up there amongst the top of my go to stamps.

Would really love it if you hopped on over to see all the DT’s work as they are simply stunning.
