Funkie Junkie Bonus Tag #2

Well I did it, really wasn’t sure I was going to as I had to attend Waterford hospital for my check up today. This is my 2nd and very last bonus tag for Linda’s challenge.

#1 tag is here with the rules. Linda’s #2 Bonus Tag and the Funkie Junkie Boutique is here.

Thank you Linda for taking the time to give blogland this challenge and for sharing all your amazing tags so that we had inspiration along the way.

I ordered Tim’s stencils from Linda’s Boutique and when they arrived she had very kindly sent me some lovely little freebies, two of which were the jumbo tags that she sells and also a metal corner piece. Both have been used on my tag.

I followed the #2 bonus tag as far as the folding for my inspiration then off I went on my own merry little way.

For the 8″ tag I made my first score line at 1″ from the top (where the hole is) then I turned the tag around and scored at 3.5 from the bottom. When folded this makes a cute looking envelope.

Covered front and back with G45 papers but when adding the back paper I did not glue over the cardstock flap, instead I left the paper so it made another flap and trimmed the edges to match the front. This made a patterned flap and a plain. The plain flap was painted, then coloured with gilding wax before adding crackle medium. The metal corner embellie was also given the gilding wax treatment. Dimensional paste was added down the edge with a stencil and this too had a touch of wax.

Two magnetic discs were added to the inside flap and covered over with paper but guess which wally forgot to cover the two discs on the front piece of cardstock? When opened you can see the discs but I will rectify that later … might see how they react to wax as well, lol. I also stamped a Thank You on the inside lid.

When opened you can see the lovely sentiment paper with a very romantic image. On the back there are gorgeous roses showing.

Funkie Junkie Bonus Tag #1

I might just make the finishing post with Linda’s tags. Below is one of the bonus tags and that leaves just one more to make.

#1 tag is here with the rules. Linda’s # 1 Bonus Tag and the Funkie Junkie Boutique is here.

All my Christmas stash has been put away and because I am only just making my bonus tags there is not a bit of the seasonal stuff in sight. My inspiration came from the sentiment on Linda’s tag – “Hello Friend”.

Bonus Tag

After clearing away the dust I used another stamp that has only just seen the light of day … slapped wrists because they were bought quite a few months back. The stamp is a PaperArtsy called Buttons. Also used a little gold gilding wax around the edges of the framed lady.

Thinking Of Each & Everyone Of You This Christmas

This is what we have all been waiting for … wahoo – it’s Christmas!!!

Wishing You A Very Merry Christmas

Have fun with all those pressies but lets not forget to spare a heartfelt thought to all those who won’t be with their loved ones today.

Christmas Tag #12 – Funkie Junky Style

#1 tag is here with the rules. Linda’s # 12 tag and the Funkie Junkie Boutique is here.

What better way to finish Linda’s 12 tags of Christmas than showing #12 on the actual 12th day. The inspiration for this one came from Linda’s stars and also the colour palette. Lucky me got to use another of Tim’s stencils … no prizes for guessing which one!!

That completes all of my Christmas tags and you can see everyone of them … here

This final tag has had the usual paint, crackle, embossing, frantage, tissue paper, molding paste etc…

Printed all the images onto tissue paper and the sentiment. In GIMP I cut and pasted the Santa image onto the sentiment, which is a digi from Whimsey Designs. I sent Santa to the back and overlapped the sentiment then printed onto white tissue. The boy and girl image is from a Joanna Sheen Victorian Christmas CD which I have had forever. Before printing this image onto tissue I changed it from plain to a canvas effect this gave it a more olde worlde look.

Funkie Junkie 12 Tags Of Christmas – #11

Christmas Tag #11 – Funkie Junky Style

#1 tag is here with the rules. Linda’s # 11 tag and the Funkie Junkie Boutique is here.

I am going to be so disappointed when Linda posts her final tag as I have enjoyed following along with everyone of them.

Today’s tag on Linda’s blog is probably my favorite to date but we still have the 12th to go so I will wait until she has posted this before I make a definite choice. My inspiration came from the trees, colours and reindeer on her tag.

The tag has been painted, crackled, stamped on (not literally), embossed, frantaged to an inch of it’s life as well as adding the gorgeous napkin reindeer with a layering of Mod Podge.

Not long now and I can put away my Christmas stash … truthfully … how many of you can’t wait to do the same?? Borrowed a friends holly punch to make this tag as I wanted to take my inspiration from Linda’s leaves and the red berries. Guess who’s hoping that she can get some Christmas crafting goodies in the New Year sales!!!

Christmas Tag #9 Funky Junky Style

#1 tag is here with the rules. Linda’s # 9 tag and the Funkie Junkie Boutique is here. That’s it I am up to date that is until Monday when Linda will be posting her #10 tag.

Loved everything about Linda’s tag which made deciding where my inspiration was going to come from quite difficult. In the end I decided not only on the colour palette but also the rose flower, the raffia and also the huge silver snowflake. This is what I came up with.

You will be pleased to know that I have made three purchases this year to add to my Christmas stash, this Tim Holtz Christmas Blueprint stamp set was one of them. Couldn’t resist some more hand sewing so with some silver thread I did a back-stitch around the sentiment, Holiday Greetings.

Had a little play around in the graphics program which I use … love to play!!!

Funkie Junkie 12 Tags Of Christmas – #8

Christmas Tag #8 Funky Junky Style

#1 tag is here with the rules. Linda’s # 8 tag and the Funkie Junkie Boutique is here.

Wow still loving every minute of making these and following along with Linda’s 12 tags of Christmas.

My inspiration this time round came from Linda’s jolly little fat man on her tag. Of course I am referring to Mr Santa Clause himself … who wouldn’t look quite the same if he was all suave and slim like James Bond … well would he???

Inked the background of the tag with D I’s, Ripe Persimmon, Pumice Stone and Fired brick. Dipped last year’s free snowflake stamp from C S into some white paint to decorate the edges. Used it again then cut out before adding a S U sentiment to the middle. The Holiday Greetings is also from S U. At the bottom you can just see I have used a La Blanch stamp called Unfinished Script with Versamark and white E P.

Now onto Mr Clause himself, a really kind and generous lady called Maria gave each of us at my class last week some Father Christmas paper napkins.
So big jolly fat man himself has been torn and added with M P. How cute are those cheeks, don’t you just want to pinch and say who’s a pretty boy then!!!

Funkie Junkie 12 Tags Of Christmas – #7

Christmas Tag #7 Funky Junky Style

#1 tag is here with the rules. Linda’s # 7 tag and the Funkie Junkie Boutique is here.

Finally got around to #7 with Linda’s 12 tags of Christmas but I am happy to say that I have done #8 and #9, just haven’t got around to taking the pics.

My inspiration for this tag came from Linda’s teensy little tags that she used on her make. I’m a tag kinda girl so any excuse to use them.

Started the background by painting first with a mauve/purple type of colour. When dry put into an embossing folder before dry brushing some white paint very gently over the top.

The little reindeer was stamped onto corrugated cardboard with Versamark then a coat of white E P before heating. All the letters spelling out Christmas came from an M & S Alphabet Stamper Set and the letters spelling JOY came from here.

Still going with Linda’s tags but this was a real throw together last night as I am off to the UK today for my son’s birthday tomorrow.

The Day before Halloween!!! I am sure JP would have hated being born on the 31st!!!

My inspiration for this tag was Linda’s beautiful bow which I just happened to turn into a knot.

Sorry all have to dash and catch a boat … sailing at 8.00am and loads of things still to do

Funkie Junkie 12 Tags Of Christmas – #5

Yippee and yayyyy, a very dear crafting buddy lent me some of her Christmas crafting goodies. Thank You Sweets.

She took pity on me because my Christmas stash is rubbish so now I can craft on in STYLE!!!

#1 tag is here with the rules. Linda’s 5th tag and the Funkie Junkie Boutique is here.

Entering this one into the Craft Stamper Take It Make It Challenge – they want to see some splishy splashy splatter.

Why am I showing the back as well you ask … well, I couldn’t make my mind up which side to add my embellies. Finally went for the other side because the splatter looked so cool.

Wrong!!! Should have used the back side because I ended up covering all my lovely splish splash splatter… ah well can’t get it right all the time!!!

Firstly painted the front and back of my tag with a gorgeous turquoise chalk paint before flicking with some gesso and stamping with a splodge from the Stampin Up set called French Foliage.

Stamped onto vellum before adding gold E P onto one of the stamp sets loaned to me. This set is called Beautiful Season from Stampin Up (now retired).

Linda’s inspiration came into play at this stage as I die cut a frame from the Spellbinders Blossom Five with some corrugated cardboard. then framed the bird image.

Other stamps borrowed and used are Mini Holidays Three.

Footnote: Just want to say that the tag, paint, splodge stamp, vellum, corrugated card, rope and string used are all my own!!!
