A Little Birdie Told Me

Showing two more pages today from my Stamp Journal.  Not sure if you saw my other posts about this book but only stamps and inks are allowed.

Two colour ink pads were used on both pages, Memento Summer Sky and New Sprout.

For those keen eyed crafters who say they can see the colour black … this wasn’t mentioned because technically black isn’t a colour, or white for that matter.

A variety of stamps are in play on the pages and there is a list below showing but a few of what was used.

Hope Everyone Is Still Enjoying Christmas!!!

Last week Dot and I were creating some backgrounds with the Gelli Plate, nothing else just creating backgrounds.  Then she got so tired and went to bed.

Yuk … that time difference really mucks about with our crafty time!!!

Carried on crafting and below are just two of the backgrounds which I made.  Turned out super cool, so decided to forge ahead and work on the left hand picture.

So from this …..

came this ….

Absolutely love the Gelli plate and how it works but who had it for about 4 years before it came out of the packet?

Shame on me!!!

Wow how much lovely crafty time did I miss out on by leaving it on the shelf?????

Reason it stayed on the shelf was because the first time I used it I was at Crafty Friend’s house and we used hers.

Ahhhh but we used it with ink and Shirley totally didn’t like the result it gave so mine stayed on the shelf, unused, still in the packet, for all that time.

Saw a video, about a year ago, where they were using paint so took it out of the packet and had a go.   Whoa …. what a difference it made and since then I have never looked back, use it so much now.

Penny For Them

Dot will be surprised, I managed to finish these makes and even post them.  Today was all about playing around with painted backgrounds, using very few colours and making one layer pieces.

Firstly this is one of my favourite stamps so she just had to have centre stage.  Paints used are TH Distress Paint – Barn Door and Mustard Seed.

Next is this rather elegant tag.

It seems like forever that I have made a tag but this one was a joy to make.

Last but not least is this tiger stamp which is from one of Sheena’s sets.  It was bought many moons ago in one of those mad moments of … I just have to have it.

First time of inking and now I am wondering why it took me so long as he is gorgeous and stamps like a dream.
