Looking Puzzled

Forgot to show this weeks class card which was made with a scalloped card from Craftwork Cards, very simple to make but the colouring takes a little while.

Before the black cardstock was layered onto the card I stamped and embossed with a pretty swirl stamp. Cut part of the butterflies wing around the edge but only enough so that it covered some of the diecuts. Used Copics to colour the Sarah Kay stamped image. Embellished with micro beads and added diamond glaze to her hat plus the tablecloth in the basket.

His & Hers Cards

Wow long post because I have combined two DT cards but please scroll down and see Andrew’s Valentine’s card ….

Sunday here again and that means another Sentimental Sundays but today you get to see two cards because Let’s Ink It Up also has their monthly challenge so you get two cards for the price of one.

Now I mention price because as you know Andrew won’t buy me a card from the shops …. no no not because he’s mean …. well that’s what he tells me …. but because bless him he says they are not worthy enough for one so talented …. have you ever heard such a load of old waffle …. but I fall for it every time and love him to bits for even thinking it …. thanks hun …. shhhh don’t say anything, but I think the real reason is …. I spend so much money on crafting goodies that he thinks I should use them …. he has a point ….

Before I go any further I have to say the response for last months challenge was tremendous you gave all the DT’s a hard time choosing the winner and top 3 so we had to make it a top 5. I want to say another huge thank you to Suzanne and Claire for asking me to stay on as a DT member at Let’s Ink It Up, chuffed doesn’t begin to describe how I feel and also sad because we are saying goodbye to some very talented ladies who I wish all the best.

Anyways this is the card I made for myself, it is an easel for the Let’s Ink It Up challenge which is on Australian time and as you know they are way ahead of us …. we would love to see your Romantic/Valentine’s projects. This is the card I made for myself and I love it. Took a lot of working out for me to stamp the letters onto the shrink plastic and then to shrink them down so they fitted just right into the circle apertures and still spun around …. hey presto it worked they spin nicely. Used my Cricut Expression …. you know the one I am not very keen on …. but saw the lovely Summer In Paris Cartridge and couldn’t resist, stamped and embossed the lovely Sketched Lady and Eiffel Tower from Clarity stamps again, because it’s my card and I can, guess what else surprise surprise it’s a pink card.

We have two sponsors for this challenge, Whiff of Joy Stamps who have kindly given a Willow With Champagne Rubber Stamp and Mad For Markers who have donated a set of three markers, a pack of Xpress It Card and a Copic Swatch Book, what fantastic prizes for some lucky winner.

Time to run on over and have a look at all the superb inspiration from the other DT girls, leave a hugable comment and enter your lovey dovey creations.

Sentimental Sundays challenge this week is Valentines and here is Andrew’s Valentine’s card, cute eh. We are being sponsored this week by Deedee’s Digis and when I saw this cute image I just knew what I was going to make. A double easel card was needed for this project, printed off two images, changed one of them so they were facing each other then paper pieced both with lovely yummy bright colours. Both cards will look lovely on the mantelpiece next week. I really would love to see all your beautiful creations …. that’s the nosey part of me …. so mooch on over and see all the other DT girls creations, it would be great if you would leave some love and enter.

Wahoo check out Let’s Ink It Up they have announced the new Design Team …. a huge congrats to everyone …. pop over to all their blogs and leave lots and lots of hugs they deserve it because they are all such a talented bunch of girls x x x

Lots of changes going on, you have all seen the new blog design, we have a new badge and now there are two teams of designers …. team A and team B …. this all kicks off in March and we are having two challenges a month.

Suzanne and Claire you are two truly amazing ladies for all the hard work you do in maintaining LIIU well done.

Nostalgic, whimsical, cute, she’s all of those and truly reminds me of days gone by, when little girls wore browns and reds, so what better colours to chose for her. Masked her off then stamped, inked and distressed the edges of the tag before colouring. Made the background with the cheapest copy paper, threw on glimmer mists, stamped swirls all over with TH distressing inks and also cut out 4 different flower shapes from the same paper then added a brad. Used a MS punch for the edge of the vellum wrap

Entering for:
By The Cute & Girly – Red is all around us – Use red + one other colour
Papertake Weekly – Anything Goes with flowers for the optional extra

Sarah Kay Decoupage

010023010022

We must be the proudest grandparents ever at the moment, our grandson Alex – 9 years of age – played football for Crookham Rovers every Saturday morning. He was asked to go for a trial at the Aldershot Football Ground and you’ve guessed it he got in, he is now playing for Aldershot. His Grandad supports Manchester United but his first love has always been Aldershot Football Town, ever since he was a little boy, so how proud do you think he is at the moment that Alex is playing for his team, absolutely cockahoop.

Now back to the card. I very rarely make decoupage cards anymore because the cutting out is too painful for my hands, but these new Sarah Kay decoupage are just so beautiful and extremely easy to do because they just pop out.

This card was the project for my Tuesday ladies. They all had different images, background papers and embellishments.

The second card I demonstrated along with them but I didn’t finish mine until this morning. Added some lace and stitching. The lace flower I also made and added to the tag instead of a sentiment. Just love feathers and thought it gave a nice touch to the background.

Again all went home with beautiful cards and lots of oohing and aahing followed them.

Country Girl

010008

Sugar Nellie stamps are just fabulous this is the first one I ever bought.

Followed Challenge 23 – Judy’s sketch… well as close as possible… I always have problems in following sketches because I tend to drift off and do my own thing but I think this time I followed it quite closely.

Used Basic Grey paper pad, Sultry – inked edges with Rangers worn lipstick and stitched onto card. Stamped image with black StazOn and then cut her out. Used Faber-Castell water colour pencils to colour her in. Sat her on a nestie and surrounded her with dew drops.

Brad in the middle of the flower is from Papermania, married the centre of the brad with one of the papers.

A Time to Ponder

010006

My advice of the day – never make a card when you have a head cold. Started this card on Tuesday…. what’s today…. yeh that long, wish I had listened to my own advice.

She still looks adorable despite all the head pain when making her. Love the stitching around the edge of the blue and purple paper (Pink Petticoat), not sure how well you can see the garland stitch. Also added the same stitch around the setiment.

Did the paper piecing again and also the finishing touches with copic markers. Slight problem with the ink and the markers – my own fault can’t even blame the usual suspects (hubby and Penny) – used the StazOn ink pad instead of my Versafine, won’t do it again. The Copics and the ink bled into each other. Managed to get around most of the problem (wasn’t going to waste all that work).

Nestie cut out with purple core card and distressed, flower coloured in with Copic V06, dotted lots of petal pink Liquid Pearl and last but not least candy tots.

Feeling better today and can’t wait to get started.

We meet Again

010005

Promised another card with this image on it and also the around the page fanned shell punch.

Miserable day here so had to take a picture of the card while light wasn’t too bad, might try again later because she looks so much better than the picture shows.

Have to go out at the moment will put more info about the card when I come back….

….Back again – stamped image with Black StazOn, no embossing this time. I tried something different with the image today… paper piecing, it’s something from my patchwork quilting and applique days. Enjoyed it so much will be doing again.

Stamped the image three times, once on white cardstock, second on the matching blue paper and third onto green paper. Cut out the bits from each piece of paper that I wanted and then matched to the image on white card. Proceeded to colour in with Copics and added Liquid Pearls. Cut out with nestie labels 4, distressed edges with Rangers ink – faded jeans and matted behind. I am quite a harsh critic with my work but this turned out great.

I wish you could see the flower better because there are 6 small little flowers in the centre, coloured the stems with copics and a dash of Liquid Pearls to finish. Papers from Pink Petticoat, and stitched onto card, bows, jewels and flowers from stash.

Please leave a comment and let me know what you think.

Woof Woof

010011

Bought this stamp at the crop yesterday and couldn’t wait to use it. Stamped and embossed it with black embossing powder. Next time will try without embossing, disappointed with light reflecting on image and left no room to colour pressies.

Coloured in with watercolour pencils. Lace, card and paper were all stitched on, edges made with Martha Stewart punch. Flowers were punched with various punches and hand sewn together with a gold bead. Single flowers, bead was glued on. Ribbons from stash and papers from Pink Petticoat.

Soooo Cute

Just had to post this tonight after coming back from Laura’s crop (Crafty Angels). Isn’t she just the most adorable stamp?

Will post the other card later, want to tweak a little with some embellies.

Lauren had a little lamb

010013

This is one of my favourite stamps (truth be known they all are).

Stamped the image onto glossy card and coloured in with US Art Quest watercolour palette.

I called it “Lauren Had A Little Lamb” after my Granddaughter.
