Dot is one of my fabulous teemie sisters from FSC and we have been having fabulous fun by skyping each other, Silvia is another teemie sister who has joined in with the fun. On one of our little natters … 2 hours + … Dot and I were discussing TH DI and she didn’t realise that Stamping Up inks do the same thing, they are also a water based dye ink.

The two tags below started off as a little demo to show Dot how they worked but then I decided to embellish and finish off. The first tag was inked, did the dropped water technique, dry embossed, stamped onto it and because my needles and cottons were on the desk I finished off with beads and millions of French knots … well a few anyway because as you know I adore doing these. For the flowers I stamped onto kitchen roll, cut out and spritzed with Memory Mists. When you have moulded the flowers into how you want them to look spray with hair spray and leave to dry this will harden them.

Used the same colour on both tags … simply because the inks were out … how lazy is that … same techniques as above but at least I used different stamps this time.

My Trinket Box

I started this box a while ago but didn’t really know where I was going with it until I saw the challenge at Fashionable Stamping and then I just knew it was going to be my DT piece. This time round we would love to see Steampunk and yes I am one of the Stampettes who has never done Steampunk before, this is my first time. Apart from the fact I don’t really have any appropriate stamps I am also one of those rare people who doesn’t like to put altered wings on things. There is loads going on with the box but will only bore you with a little info.

The large die cut was cut out from a piece of cardboard which was covered with ripped layers of masking tape, inked with a black DI then stamped onto with various stamped images before putting through an embossing folder. The leftovers were used to stamp a PaperArtsy bird onto before cutting out with a bird die. Stitched around the edge of the lid before using more green acrylic paint as another dimension and of course lots of crackle paint.

I made compartments for the inside and you can just see some of my crushed bottle tops also lots of embellishments which I have made and not used yet. Check out those little loops showing through underneath that is going to be on my next project.

This is what is on the inside lid, lots of delicious pockets for my tags to go into.

Dancing On Air

Time for Tuesday Treasures again and the treasure on my card today are the buttons I have made, love making these.
The reason I call them my treasures is because they are bottle tops which Andrew crushed for me so that I can make pretty things with them. Now I don’t think he really understands my obsession with crafting but if there is any heavy donkey work to be done he will help. I have a box full of crunched up bottle tops just waiting to be turned into little treasures. Thanks babe.

Both bottle tops have been Gessoed, whilst still wet I added pieces of voile gauze, the first I made two holes for the cotton to go through then added crackle accents, my second I again added voile but this time added a piece of purple material plus the crackle accents. This piece started off as a 6″ x 6″ piece of cereal box, Gessoed then added pieces of cotton voile gauze, the beautiful stamped image is from Crafty Individuals and coloured with copics. Another thing my little treasure did was buy me all the copics ahhhhh.

Another fave thing I did … haven’t done it for a while though is printed onto kitchen roll then die cut with various dies before adding to the edges. Love the dimpled effect you get when you use a quilted piece of kitchen roll. Below are the two images I printed out.

Song Bird

My fave makes are tags and this one is all about birds. Stamps are from PaperArtsy and Hero Arts. Lots of texture to this card with some hand stitching thrown in for good measure. Used the TH Marker pens for the colouring, wasn’t very sure about these to begin with but they are growing on me.

Found an old necklace which had a ball and chain for the clasp so cut some off and attached to the birdcage.

Victoriana

We had such a quiet and lazy Bank Holiday Monday that I had a just for me day with my crafting. After speaking with my granddaughter Amber in the morning I felt inspired to make this DL card which has all my special things on it, pretty digital image, stitching, scrunched up vellum, inks, flowers, ribbon, pearls and not forgetting me fave colour … pink. The bottom flowers were spritzed with Memory Mists then opened the beautiful picture in my graphics program, selected only her face which was then printed off and cut out with an oval die.

Here is the gorgeous image I used which I found in a folder on my computer, not even sure where it came from as I have had it literally years.

ATC

This ATC is for the Stampotique Designers Challenges but you must use one of their stamps.
Now some people will think that this little guy (Weasel) looks creepy but I think he is cute and Puss Puss is just soooo sweet.
Sprayed some gauze with Glimmer Mists then glued onto cardboard (size 3 1/2″ x 2 1/2″) stamped Weasel with black Versafine ink (because of the size of the card his legs were cut off, trust me he felt no pain) then coloured with Marvy Le Plume pens (very delicately because the gauze moved) also stitched on a pocket for the tag.

New York City

Well this was certainly a challenge for me, Fashionable Stamping want to see your Cities Of The World for this fortnights theme
guess who didn’t have anything not even any paper that would have been suitable.

Out of desperation I made my own background paper with images from the Graphics Fairy … first picture shows the paper I made with no embellishments added. Here are the links for the images used … Sheet MusicPatriotic.

These images come with a white background so I had to edit them in GIMP (a graphics program) converted to a png format and made them transparent. I also changed the colours – very pleased with how it turned out.

This is the finished card which shows all the lovely stamping.
I chose New York as my city because Estelle (owner of the Stampsmith) sent my ordered goodies in an envelope which was covered in stamping and some amazing postal stamps (kept these for another project). Ripped and tore pieces of the envelope which you can see below, stamped Ophelia onto white card then inked with TH Stormy Sky.

Never been to NY … maybe one day … but please pop on over to see where all the Stampettes have been travelling to plus we would love to see which city you would like to visit.

Swinging Time With Flowers

May Flowers is the theme this time round at Little Miss Muffet Challenges so I used the TH Tattered Florals die then added my own handmade rose … made a little bow with the left over material. Decisions decisions, which image to use, but Riley won out in the end.

We have a new member joining our team this week so please hop on over to say hi to JOEY also Barbara has some exciting things happening soon.

Time For Summer

First time of using these stamps from Crafty Individuals they have a challenge on at the moment called Time For Summer which was just perfect for my card. I have used C1-283, C1-302 and C1-235 which are all adorable. Stamped and embossed the two little girls twice, once onto the cardstock with pink embossing powder, then onto pink vellum with white embossing powder, cut out the vellum image with a spellbinders tag die which I overlaid onto the cardstock image. Stamped the flower image onto a doily embossed with pink again then coloured with TH Bundled Sage. For the mat on the inside of the card first stamped with the flourishes, embossed with Pastel Peach then inked edges with the TH – BS

Enjoy, if there are any other details you would like to know just ask sweets.

Come Fly With Me

Well there it is the painted raffia which I used as a stencil on the previous page, did a little bit of stencilling before I added to the card, it was still wet with paint and left a smudge behind … but it matched perfectly with the little girl (coloured her and the birds with the TH marker pens)also love the little tag which I made into a handbag for her. Stamped onto the green striped ribbon then added some little dots to the edges so it all tied in together.

The album is coming along nicely but not doing another page today because I have to make a card for my card class tomorrow, not to worry will be working on it again on Sunday.

Lots of different stamps used if there is any that you would like the name of just lave a comment and I will get back to you.
