Quote Away At FSC This Month

FSC wants to see ‘Quotes’ for this month’s challenge.

PaperArtsy have to be up there as one of my fave all time stamps.

My quote came from the denazinski Art stamps ZA08 and the flower from EclecTica ETS08.

Would really love it if you hopped on over to see all the DT’s work as they are simply stunning.

Ink Art Designs Etsy Shop is sponsoring FSC and they will be offering a stamp for the winner of each new challenge.

Just Because

Showing some cards just because …

Made the family all Valentine’s cards – firstly is the one I made for Amber, turns out it was her only one … awwww.

Below .. the first card was made for Alex to give to his girlfriend Amy, middle card is Lauren’s.

Last but not least the other was for my DIL to give to my son.

This one was made in one of my classes.

New Header And New Challenge At FSC

Happy 2018 to all of blogland and I sure hope that this year will be a good one for each of you.

Over the years I have turned more and more to paints in my artwork so what better way to start my first blog post of the year but with a new look.

The header has been designed by me and I think it depicts the work I do a lot better than my last header, hope you like it?

Saturday saw the first class of the year with my lovely ladies, Phil, Maria, Theresa and New Phil (we call her this because of there being two Phil’s but she is by no means new anymore).

These four ladies have been attending my Saturday classes for years now and we have such fun (as well as some serious moments of artwork).

It’s my turn to kick off the theme this month at FSC and my choice is an ‘ANYTHING GOES’ challenge, so I combined my FSC piece with showing them how to make a wall hanging with lots of yummy stamping and colouring.

I have used lots of stamps on this piece and all are from PaperArtsy with some added doodles from me.

PaperArtsy are up there amongst the top of my go to stamps.

Would really love it if you hopped on over to see all the DT’s work as they are simply stunning.

Below are some of the stamps used.

Lauren Rose

Can you remember that it was only last year when I found out that my youngest grandaughter loved CAS cards, well wasn’t that an eye opener for me.

So glad I found out because there’s nothing worse than getting a card which isn’t really your style.

The kitten stamp was still on my desk from yesterday’s make plus Lauren’s birthday is so close that my card below has been designed especially with her CAS style in mind.  She loves cats … the family had four once upon a time but now only have two … so you can see how perfect the kitten stamp was for her card.

Chose red because her bedroom is decorated in different shades of red and looks really gorgeous.

No colouring of the cat as this would have been too fussy for her taste.

Hope she likes this card as much as the one which I made for her last year, see here.

The heart is from a PaperArtsy stamp set … see below … look at the long slim legs in the set.  Only used one of the legs so the heart could dangle from it.

The dangly heart came about because I was going to put a small stamped happy birthday beside the cat but Dot suggested a little heart.

Ran with the idea and the above is what I came up with.  Thanks Dotty.

Modes Of Transport At FSC

Not much been going on in my ‘Crafty Cranny’ simply because I have been MIA again (another short break to the UK).

That’s the holidays over for the time being, next break is AUSTRALIA.

FSC wants to see ‘Modes Of Transport’ for this month’s challenge which the lovely Dani picked as her theme.

It’s all about my stamp journal again, love the neat, crisp, clean look of these pages.  Getting to use loads of my stamps which have been gathering dust for tooooo long.  Only inks and stamps are used in this book … see first pages here.

For these pages I did a “before and after” starting with the horse then moving onto a motor vehicle before finishing with a van.

By the way the motor vehicle and the van set were both virgin stamps.  It’s OK, both wrists have been slapped, especially as I have had the PaperArtsy set for about five years and the car for two.

Reverse masked the horses then dappled with coloured spots.

Can you believe that the last time I used these Visible Image stamps was in April 2015 here just after I had bought them at Ally Pally.

Masked off the ‘AFTER’ and also the van then stamped over with a crackle stamp.

All stamps used for the journal pages, inks are a mixture of  Versafine and Memento.

Would really love it if you hopped on over to see all the DT’s work as they are simply stunning.  Also don’t forget that the winner of this challenge has $20 to choose anything they like from Flonz’s store.

Good Ole Bubble Wrap

Showing pages from the new A5 art journal which I had to buy on my last trip home.

Two on the go now but I just might take this one home with me when I next go and leave it there.  That way I will always have something to doodle in.

Used some of the new PaperArtsy stamps that I bought whilst at a class with Helen Chilton, Sandy had her shop there.

Extended the ends of the flower petals with some doodling flourishes and added numbers to the leaves.

These are the first two pages when the book is opened and as you can see I have used the SU Beautiful You stamps plus a variety of others.

Clare has very little crafting stuff which is good because it means I have to improvise and use things which I haven’t used in ages.

Bubble wrap is one of those great alternatives to stencils and it came in handy for these pages.  Painted gesso onto it which gave a fantastic resist on the page.

Just A Number At FSC

FSC wants to see ‘It’s Just A Number’ for this months challenge which the lovely Brenda picked as her theme.

The smaller numbers on my card have been white embossed to make them stand out more on the painted and stencilled background.

Would really love it if you hopped on over to see all the DT’s work as they are simply stunning.  Also don’t forget that the winner of this challenge has $20 to choose anything they like from Flonz’s store.

Tag Time

Just back from the UK where we have been celebrating Alex’s birthday.  He has just turned 17, learning to drive and growing up way too fast.

Had lots of playtime whilst away and even managed to get to a class at the Craft Barn with Helen Chilton.  We made a Marquee Sign with lights but stupid here left it at Clare’s house.  You can see Helen’s make here but I used different stamps and colours on mine.

Also had time for some art journaling with Clare but had to buy a new A5 book because I left mine at home … now I have two on the go.  Note to myself when visiting Dot must remember to take it with me!!!!

It’s been so long since I have made a tag and today was just perfect to start one.  Beautiful sunny weather and lots of crafting time.

Bought stamps and paints at the workshop … Sandy had her shop there.  Below you can see I have used one of the new PaperArtsy stamps on my tag with some of the new paints.

The ‘Dream On’ sentiment came from the bottom of a stamp from Finnabair.

The eye stamp is so old that my poor little brain can’t remember where it came from.

Sorry for not visiting anyone whilst away but tomorrow is catch up time to see all that I have been missing.  See you soon.
