How many of us can remember ourselves as a little girl sitting on a chair with sewing or knitting in our hands. Maybe your memory is of a winters evening being so engrossed with your needlework that nothing else mattered except the pure enjoyment you felt. When I saw a postcard with this little girl on it my memories came flooding back and I had to have it.
Punched 9 little tags from some leftover embossed cardstock which was sitting on my desk and stamped the sentiment “Love To Sew”. Added to the tag with little French knots, better than glue because they still swivel about. Even the little alphabet stamps I bought come in a traditional wooden old fashioned pencil case … found them again in the big tidy up!!! Check them out here. Cut her from the postcard and stitched onto a tag. She will hang in my now re-vamped and tidy craft room. Don’t think it will stay tidy for long!!!

What an absolutely darling image Shirl. Love the colours you’ve used too – a real autumn feel to it. This will look great in your craft room and no-one will notice any mess when you have such super things on the wall to look at. Love, Margie x
This is rather nostalgic. I won a darning contest at Sunday School when I was six years old. It was for the older children but Mommy entered my work. Imagine. When I tell my grandchildren they say, “what is darning”. When I try to explain it , I may as well be speaking Greek.
I love the image, colors and all the small tags you used got letters.
Blessings,
Carole
PS
They bring me all their jeans, work clothes, pants or coats too mend. Sometimes that takes a miracle.

Beautiful tag Shirley! The image is sweet and the colours are great. Have a fabulous day, Shirleyx
Oh so sweet.. I do remember this as my mother, who is still very active at 85, taught me to knit (at 7 years old), crochet and quilt. I could never master the handwork she continues to do so flawlessly..I am a machine girl when it comes to sewing and quilting…but that pic not only reminds me of those moments but the sheer bliss of getting lost in a project! I still am blessed to share those moments with her but I am a lot older than the girl in the image – LOL.. What a delightful projects… love everything about it!! xxx
She’s so utterly adorable! What a wonderful tag… I’m afraid I’m a complete sewing refusenik – sewing machines and I have a long and ugly history, and I spent many years putting up hems using double-sided sellotape! Doesn’t mean I can’t admire a lovely sewing make though, and I so envy those who can add stitching to their papercrafting projects – it’s a look I love but can only dream of!
