Funkie Junkie 12 Tags Of Christmas – #2

I love love love Christmas. Such a magical time of the year, … BUT … big but as well … I don’t like making Christmas thingies!!!

I think it stems from a time (yonks ago) that I made and sold loads and loads of cards. Needed the money to feed my habit, … you can breathe again now … I mean the CRAFT HABIT … not the illicit stuff. It got to the stage that I loved Christmas coming around but definitely not the crafting side of it.

Where is this going you ask?

Just finished tag #2 for Christmas Tags Funkie Junkie style, see my #1 tag here and the rules. This is Linda’s 2nd tag and the Funkie Junkie Boutique is here.

Problems came to light when I started #3, I am sooooo struggling. Not with the ideas part but with the very very limited Christmas stamps and goodies I have!!! Everything is coming back to bite me now because I very very rarely update my Christmas stock. Probably only buy one thing each year. Can you believe I don’t even own a Christmas mask or stencil!!!

You would laugh your socks off girls if you could see my Christmas stash.

Anyway this is a challenge and I am going to forge ahead with strong determination and get to the finish line.
This last sentence is for me girls, not you, just to make me feel better!!!

Loved Linda’s colour palette so this was the starting point for my tag. Used an iridescent spray instead of perfect pearls and also an ancient Sizzix Bauble die (now retired) which I triple embossed and stamped into. Don’t even ask about the tree stamp!!!

Well, looking at this one would never guess this was a challenge for you, it is totally stunning!!! Old stash or not, it is just beautiful and I absolutely adore the colours you used!!

How lovely… the stamping on the fabric looks beautiful, and I love your texty bauble. Gorgeous subtle colour palette and fab textures throughout… I agree with Astrid: it certainly doesn’t look like this was any trouble at all! But I do understand – I find Christmas makes tricky (especially before December), though I have collected quite an array of Christmassy stamps (of course!).

Thank you for your lovely recent comments – and well-wishes… Sadly it’s not just unpacking of boxes, there’s still packing and sorting going on too!! We were lucky enough to be able to take the tenancy from the 1st October so have been shifting stuff across ourselves. Removers will do just the six or seven large pieces of furniture (including beds!) that we can’t do on the 15th, then some rapid final clearing before handing keys over on the 18th. It feels like it’s been going on forever, but at least the end is in sight now!!

Another gorgeous design, love your style 🙂 I know what you mean about the ‘habit’… new things are always exciting, but we have to find room for it all. I keep giving things away. Have a wonderful weekend, Shirleyx

Determination fits the bill Shirley as you are making beautiful things, so forget the old times having to create to sell and give us more of these fabulous designs.

  10. Wow, I love what you have done with the colors and the way you added a hint of blue-green into the mix. You might be limited on supplies, but obviously not limited on talent. This came out beautifully! The embossed/stamped ornament is wonderful, especially the tiny scrap of fabric tied around it and the Santa stamped on the fabric is a show-stopper. Thanks so much for sharing with us for week #2. Can’t wait to see what you have for us for #3!

    Hugs,
    Linda
