VSC Wants To See A Christmas Song

Vintage Stamping Challenges has a Christmas Song challenge theme this month.  This means you can make anything as long as it has a Christmas song or carol.

The stamp I chose from Flonzcrafts, which you can find here, is called’ Mother Reading Book For Children’ which fitted in just nicely.  Coloured mainly with DI’s  – Peeled Paint and Barn Door but also added a white hi-lighter pen and coloured pencils.  Ripped a piece of  G45 paper from the ‘Twelve Days Of Christmas’  collection and the other paper was from my stash.

I can so remember myself sitting on the sofa, when my boys were younger, and reading to them just as this mother is doing.  What an age ago that was but how happy the memories make me feel.

To enter this month’s challenge just click Mr Linky at the bottom of the VSC web page and maybe it could be you who wins the $20 from Flonz’s store. Please visit the DT’s blogs for more inspiration and also it would be nice to leave them some love.

I can see we are both G45 fans Shirley, but they do lend themselves to Flonz stamps so well as your lovely creation proves.

I have loads of G45 Christmas too… Mine is Emporium and Nutcracker sweet. Love this delicate image and your colouring is on the perfect side of vintage. The addition of the caroller silhouette (if that is a caroller) is a great detail too.

Fantastic card Shirl, perfect colouring of the image, as usual. So wish I had bought the carolers too.

  4. Love how your created this sweet vignette. The coloring on the image is really great–with markers and pencils! Also like how you shaded around the chair. Super project!

Hi, Shirl! It was great hearing from you today, and I cannot thank you enough for your kind comments – so encouraging, as your artwork is wonderful and so endearing in quality. Love this pretty, cozy scene with the feel of some beautiful soul outdoors singing carols – but more – it seems like the soul of this mom is not merely reading to her children, but singing at heart into the great beyond of those wonderful little minds! Great card, Shirl! hugs, de

  6. This brings back so many memories of reading to my kids too. Lovely card Shirl. Jenny x
