Saturday Classes Up And Running Again

Today’s class make was a 5″ x 7″ canvas and the techniques used will all be applied to a clock canvas that we will be making in the next few weeks.

Below is the canvas that the girls made today.  I applied black paint around the edges of the sample make but the class opted to leave the black paint off.  Some also left off parts of the stencilling.

Inks were only used for the stamping, the rest was all paints and stencils.

Sometimes when you take a class if they change the composition too much then the overall effect starts to go wrong but this time what the girls did completely worked.  Well done everyone.

Because I had used the colours pink and cream on the original canvas my colour choice for the demonstrating piece was yellow and peach.

Never ever get to finish my demo in the class because I am too busy teaching but decided to sit and finish the canvas after all had gone home.

As you can see different stamps were used also.

Lovely combinations of stamping and stencilling, and I really love the sunshine colours of the second canvas and beautiful tinting of the images.

Gorgeous canvasses! In fact the 2nd inspires me to try (I have the stamps and the stencil!). Enjoy your weekend Shirley!

Hi Shirley, it’s amazing how different the canvases look when you use different colours and stamps. Both look brilliant! I am so glad that you managed to finish it after your class.

Two real beauties Shirl, I especially like the colour palette on the first as it’s so striking, the orientation also work well with one of my favourite stencils.

Both absolutely fabulous. I love the depth of colour that’s been achieved on them both, and you’ve got some great impressions with the stamps. What black ink do you use Shirley? I seem to get lots of gaps when I stamp onto canvas but yours looks like it’s been stamped onto paper. I love the colour palette on the second one, such lovely warm tones and you’ve used some fabulous stamps. I think I might be coming to you for some mixed media tuition 🙂 Crafty Hugs, Sandra x
