Dot and I both agree that we wished we had started our art journaling in a smaller book rather the the normal A4 size.
Feeling more comfortable with this A5 book because when starting something in the larger version my interest tends to wane before it is finished. Where as with this one I can’t wait to finish.
Love the first page with all the sewing, stencilling and collaging but the second isn’t too shabby either … lol.
Used the same colours on the second page but whereas the first has collaged layers the second is one flat layer. Both are a nice contrast to each other.
Finally bought one of those small date stamps because when looking back at the pages I like to know when it was started.
Close up pick of those collaged layers.
Already started the next pages!!!
Love both pages Shirl – I keep telling myself that I should start an art journal but never seem to get around to it, I think I fear a blank page. Perhaps I’ll take a note out of your book and start with an A5 size. Thanks for all the projects that you share and the inspiration that this brings.
You really are kicking off the new year in style Shirl and are clearly on a crafty roll with more lovely inky work.

Gorgeous pages, the smaller is working well 🙂 Have a great day, Shirley xx
Don’t you love using some of our “oldies but goodies” in the way of stamps? Especially the virginal stamps? LOL Or those that are seldom used? My project tomorrow does that – using a bunch of stamps that are old old OLD, some have never been used! Thanks for the tip about the size of journal to choose, and how to actually express myself as well. Lovely colors, too! Happy New Year, Shirl! I hope that 2017 is especially good to you, and that the promise of new beginnings creates wonderful journeys! hugs, de
beautiful pages…
Lovely pages here Shirley, I have never got in to art journalling I must admit…..but there’s always time!!!! xxx
I love the contrast between the layered side and the flat side…and how the similar colours bring them all together so beautifully.
Great start, I can’t wait to see this journey unfold.

Beautiful pages, love all the detail. Happy Sunday, Shirleyxx
Just catching up (nothing new there) fabulous journal pages, love the contrast with texture/flat opposite pages.
Looks like you had fun with all this inkyness.
