Floral With Fliss

Fliss gave us this challenge and who can resist flowers and more flowers … no one … Fashionable Stamping Challenges would love to see your flowers this fortnight.

I have made a mini album from 2 pieces of 12 x 12 paper but because I was so late taking the photos the inside ones didn’t come out so good, will have another go in daylight.

Can you see that huge white flower taking up the whole of the front … who said what flower … this was cut with the TH Tattered Florals die in vellum, stamped with versamark then embossed with white embossing powder. The little bird is a retired Stampin Up stamp and the paper was stamped all over with script.

Can I remember where I got the romantic freebie image from noooo … I just hop around and find things but usually I file everything neatly away in a folder and label where it came from but not this one. Printed onto canvas paper which gave it a gorgeous look almost like a miniature oil painting and inked edges. Downsized the image of the pretty lady, printed her also onto canvas then die cut with a postage stamp die.

The teemies have all made really delicious creations for you to get some inspiration for your projects so why not pop on over to have a look.

Fave Ice Cream

Well summer finally came, for the last three days anyway but all is changing again and guess what … rain is on the way … wahoooo … I DON’T THINK!!!!

The family have another week to go of their hols, at least they got to see some sunshine and spent three days at the beach.

It’s the start of another challenge at Fashionable Stamping Challenges and this time round we would love to see all those

SUMMER ICE CREAM COLOURS

Avril chose this delicious challenge … can you guess what my fave ice cream is yum yum mmmmmm … Strawberry … just love it.

My card has been made using the Antique Frame from Spellbinders which I first embossed directly onto the card instead of cutting it out. While the frame was still on the card I blended over with TH Victorian Velvet Ink. Used the same ink to stamp the edge of card also stamped onto a plain piece of white cotton ribbon. Cut out the frame with same white cardstock then placed directly over the embossed card which gives a fabulous raised effect which you can’t really see. Stamped the lady over the VV DI ink then with a paintbrush dipped in water I coloured out some of the ink to leave lots of whiteish looking shaded areas.

You really must go and see all the beautiful creations which the FSC fashionettes have created this time round they all look good enough to eat.

Crackled Trinket Box

Sunday means FSC time and can you believe that we are one year old on Tuesday … another year where time just flew by and left me standing.

Had fun fun fun with this DT piece an altered wooden box, they come in a set of two, this is the smaller.

Painted with red emulsion … oh my what a lovely mess, then added the crackle glaze … very sticky fingers … not the sticky toffee ones so resisted the urge to lick. Waited until dry before adding another layer of emulsion this time white … should have seen the mess on my fingers after this layer of paint, still having fun though.

Sanded all edges and corners to distress even more … by this time even my hair looked distressed, dry, brittle and frazzled.

Stamped over with various designs to add lots of interest plus I added the little paper stamps which are from a Graphic 45 collection. Finished off with Vintage Photo DI … I was on such a high by this time even the dogs were looking good for me to paint. Guess what I did to glaze the top layer … yayyy good ole clear nail varnish … only the good stuff mind none of your cheapo rubbish.

Don’t even know if what I did to alter this box is right but it all worked for me plus it looks good so in my book that’s what counts.

If you think I had fun making this then check out all the DT’s creations they look fantabulous.
Paula’s looks an interesting piece to alter can you imagine the mess I would get in if I attempted to alter her piece. Mmmmm might just give it a go.

FSC Get’s Messy & Inky

Because I have had lots of queries asking whether there is a way for people to know when I have posted I have added a link on the right hand side bar which if you add your e-mail address you will automatically be notified of new postings.

I made this for my DT piece at Fashionable Stamping Challenges whose theme this fortnight is Getting Messy and Inky. I so enjoyed making it that I made another to show my Saturday class how to make … posted yesterday

The pocket for the tag was made by cutting out a nestie scalloped circle from card stock then cutting out a plain nestie circle from paper and glueing one on top of the other. You then cut the circle in half and add a score line either side which when folded gives you the pocket for the tag. Because you cut the circle in half you end up with two pockets. I actually worked my pockets out so that they house an ATC and I made the tags myself to fit the pocket. The nesties used are the largest of the Grand Scalloped Circles and the largest of the Grand Circles which I put through my mean machine the Big Shot Pro.

If you want to see what all the other Fashionettes have created just hop on over and feast your eyes on all their amazing creations.

Fashionable Stamping Challenges have a Design Team Call at the moment so if you think this could be you pop on over to see all the details.

New YouTube Video Tutorial

This is the box which I show you how to make on my YouTube channel but there are some extra embellishments on this box which I added after I had finished the video.

The flowers are an added touch which I made with lace and ribbon which are probably my fave embellishments to make they just add elegance to anything you make. Also finished off the back of the box and for this I stamped a couple more of the Flapper girls and then lightly coloured with Copics, one of which was decoupaged over the girl already on the box.

Watch this space I am making another video at the moment … have started to loose the nervousness and so enjoying making this third one which is a fabric album!!!

Oriental

Sunday 1st July, that’s another month gone already and still no sign of our summer ah well there’s always next year 😯

I have made a video tutorial of how to make this box but it’s not ready yet, hopefully will be posting sometime today … fingers crossed!!!

Our new theme this time round at Fashionable Stamping Challenges is Oriental, below is an ATC box I have made so that I can store all my ATC’s that I have collected over the years … instead of lying in an ole shoe box!! They can now sit on my desk 😎

Can you believe I never noticed that these are my husbands initials until he pointed it out … that’s what comes of being married for nearly 30 years!!!

You have to go see all the Fashionettes creations they are just awe inspiring especially as this theme seems to have been a challenge for even us 😉

Nature Sew Enjoyable

I sew 😆 enjoyed this project, a bit time consuming but very enjoyable.

Stamped the honey bee image onto a piece of white Aida fabric (think it was a 27 count) then embroidered it, how cool is that really pleased with how it turned out.

I was lucky enough to win these Honey Bee Stamps from Chocolate Baroque some time ago and I was just waiting for the right time to use them so as soon as I saw what my teemie sister Yvonne had picked for her theme at Fashionable Stamping Challenges I knew I was going to have a play with them.

What is the theme I hear you asking … NATURE … what else could it have been 😎
I chose all of the colours for this project because they remind me of nature … Sunshine, Greenery and Woodland.

The first lot of pics is how everything looked before I knew what I was going to make for my DT piece … didn’t use everything shown.

Can you see the little jam jar in the 3rd pic well in there is a piece of ribbon and lace soaking in the new TH DI called Squeezed Lemonade.
I find this the easiest way to do it if I want to change the colour of my ribbons or lace (anything really).

More pics but these are of the stamped embroidered Bumble Bee which when finished was backed with some wadding, stitched to keep in place, spritzed with Tattered Angels Gold Glimmer Mist … (masked off first) … die cut then lastly frayed the edges.

The beehive is stamped onto cotton gauze fabric which I coloured in with copic markers, also padded it with wadding, stitched around the edges then finished off with Picking shears … all left over from my sewing days plus the hoop is another left over from my cross stitch days. Added an eyelet so that I could slip the ribbon through from the recycled envelope.

Anyway this is what I finally pieced together … a recycled envelope which when opened has two tags in the pockets with loads more lovely things done to them. The backing is my fave cereal box painted with emulsion then crackle glazed before being inked and stamped onto. The stamping on the tags has been gold embossed and then lightly coloured with copic markers.

So hope you have enjoyed the before and after but you really should take a look at the Fashionettes work displayed today it is all stunning.

Straw Man

Magical and Mystical is the challenge this fortnight for Fashionable Stamping Challenges.
My thoughts are with my very dear friend and teamie sister … love and hugs Lynne, thinking of you.

I am not a fairy person and any stamps I used to own I gave to my granddaughters so thinking cap on and I came up with the Wizard of Oz. Papers and stamps all came from The Craft Barn but the bird was one I borrowed from Brenda when we had our crafting day this week. Stamped onto a skeleton leaf then added lots of texture with colouring, inking, embossing plus when I distressed the edges of the black card I added the shavings to the bird.

If you look closely you can see I have used the masking tape technique where you tear off strips and layer onto cardstock … or cereal cardstock … I then inked, stamped and embossed over the top with various stamped images.

My Trinket Box

I started this box a while ago but didn’t really know where I was going with it until I saw the challenge at Fashionable Stamping and then I just knew it was going to be my DT piece. This time round we would love to see Steampunk and yes I am one of the Stampettes who has never done Steampunk before, this is my first time. Apart from the fact I don’t really have any appropriate stamps I am also one of those rare people who doesn’t like to put altered wings on things. There is loads going on with the box but will only bore you with a little info.

The large die cut was cut out from a piece of cardboard which was covered with ripped layers of masking tape, inked with a black DI then stamped onto with various stamped images before putting through an embossing folder. The leftovers were used to stamp a PaperArtsy bird onto before cutting out with a bird die. Stitched around the edge of the lid before using more green acrylic paint as another dimension and of course lots of crackle paint.

I made compartments for the inside and you can just see some of my crushed bottle tops also lots of embellishments which I have made and not used yet. Check out those little loops showing through underneath that is going to be on my next project.

This is what is on the inside lid, lots of delicious pockets for my tags to go into.

New York City

Well this was certainly a challenge for me, Fashionable Stamping want to see your Cities Of The World for this fortnights theme
guess who didn’t have anything not even any paper that would have been suitable.

Out of desperation I made my own background paper with images from the Graphics Fairy … first picture shows the paper I made with no embellishments added. Here are the links for the images used … Sheet MusicPatriotic.

These images come with a white background so I had to edit them in GIMP (a graphics program) converted to a png format and made them transparent. I also changed the colours – very pleased with how it turned out.

This is the finished card which shows all the lovely stamping.
I chose New York as my city because Estelle (owner of the Stampsmith) sent my ordered goodies in an envelope which was covered in stamping and some amazing postal stamps (kept these for another project). Ripped and tore pieces of the envelope which you can see below, stamped Ophelia onto white card then inked with TH Stormy Sky.

Never been to NY … maybe one day … but please pop on over to see where all the Stampettes have been travelling to plus we would love to see which city you would like to visit.
