Romeo & Juliet

I totally fell in love with this image called Juliet from the Stampsmith when I first saw it on Lynne’s blog and just had to have it, I also knew what I was going to do with it … yeh another album. Come back tomorrow and I will show the first page in the album where I have used another stamp called Ophelia which is equally adoring.

Thank you Estelle because when these stamps arrived in the envelope they were packaged with so much care that I had to keep it. I took the stamps off the envelope very carefully and even kept the stamping which you had done. One of the pages in this album has all these embellishments on it because I couldn’t bare to throw them away. I can see me popping back often for more of these fantastic stamps.

Fashionable Stamping Challenges has a new theme this fortnight which is EMBOSSING … either heat or dry … if you like stamping as much as me you will do both. My teemie sister Avril picked the theme for this challenge and it certainly made me happy πŸ˜†

Juliet has been gently coloured with Copics also stamped lots of flowers plus the butterfly has been stamped onto paper and vellum. It doesn’t really show but I used pink ink for the vellum and embossed with clear powder, papers and ribbon are from Stampin Up.

Please you really should pop over to see the all the DT’s creations they are all so inspiring plus I am sure you will just love them as much as I do also whilst there maybe add your creation so that we can all pop on over to have a peek and leave you lots of love.

Lozzer’s Sea Shell Box

Every year when my grandchildren come to visit for their summer holidays it is straight to the beach, I am convinced in a previous life they were all water babies. What is it that all children love to do while at the beach … uh huh collect sea shells so I have made this box for Lauren (Lozzer) to keep all her little treasures in. Found lots of little sea shells in one of the drawers in their bedroom so pinched a few to put on the lid of the box.

Fashionable Stamping has a beautiful theme this fortnight called Nautical so this box came in handy as my DT creation.

When Paula first suggested this challenge I only had a lighthouse stamp which Fliss used on her beautiful card but I managed to buy these pretty little Inkadinkado Stamps which are so cute. The little postcard image of the boy & girl has been stamped over with Versamark and clear embossing powder. Under the black flower is a flourish die, cut from cardboard then painted with acrylic, triple embossed then added mica powder, the shine is incredible, also did the same to the little star and the button in the middle of the bottle top.

Spring Time

SPRING IS IN THE AIR
is the new challenge at Fashionable Stamping Challenges and so appropriate for this glorious Sunday morning, birds singing, sun shining and all those light nights to look forward to what more could we want … don’t answer that πŸ™‚ The amazing Design Team have made some gorgeous projects to inspire you … with lots of yummy stamping because that’s what FSC is all about … and we have our resident guest designer joining us this week with such a pretty card that you won’t want to miss.

My card has a very subtle, soft and pastel feel to it … I have always loved very pastel colour tones for the spring and summer especially white.
Another waterfall card for my DT project with two very floaty flowers that I made from netting and a piece of material from Laura Ashley also the mat at the back has been dry embossed then punched the corners. The stamped image was cut out with a large rectangle nestability and matted onto a scalloped one loved how, when matted, it looked like a postage stamp.

Mmmmmm Chocolate

Fashionable Stamping start there new challenge for the next fortnight and the theme this time round is BINGO.

My DT project is a recycled toilet roll which I made into a bag, then added a Turkish Delight … my most fave Chocolate Bar mmmmm.
The first two pictures are the front of the bag and the next two are the back. The three lines of the grid I followed are … show some metal, lace and words which is the first vertical line on the grid. This could also have followed the middle horizontal line which is the lace, distressing and buttons because I made paper distressed ruffles on the bottom … love making these.

We made a version of this at my Cottage Crafts class yesterday and the girls loved it.
I will be showing another one I made tomorrow but this one has a Cream Egg in it … all my ladies had a treat because I gave them a cream egg to add to their πŸ˜‰ projects when finished. Minute on the lips, lifetime on the hips … at my age who cares!!!

Andrew has been flattening some bottle caps for me because they look gorgeous with a little picture in the middle then add Glossy Accents which makes it look like glass.

Loved Up For The Guys

Wasn’t sure I was going to get anything made for the challenge this fortnight at Fashionable Stamping but I have made this as a Valentine’s Card which was actually inspired by my friend Dot from Dots Dabbles … thanks hunny bunny.

Don’t you just love happy accidents … inked up my shoe stamp and then promptly dropped it onto the desk, lucky enough it landed on a sheet of kitchen roll. Retrieved with a sigh and then stamped onto my paper … ahhh but … it showed up with dots on the image. There are no dots on the original stamp and realised it had transferred from the kitchen roll. What did Shirley do … cut out the image which was on the kitchen paper as well (lucky enough it was perfect) inked the edges with Forest Moss. Guess what happened next when I was inking it split in two so I was left with a negative and positive image … me can see another tutorial about this πŸ˜€

Took a picture of the shoe stamp just to let you see there are no dots on it.

Butterflies Galore & First Video Tutorial

It’s Sunday and you know what that means for this week … Fashionable Stamping has a new challenge for you and this time we would like to see all those …

Butterflies Or Bugs. I decided on butterflies because they are so delicate and pretty … not that bugs aren’t but the word bugs just puts me off … what a wimp I am!!!!

For my DT card I first painted a chipboard butterfly with black acrylic paint … twice. When dry patted Versamark all over then added black ultra thick embossing enamel … did this three times . For the last time Versamark was patted onto it so that I could add the perfect pearls mica powder … this made it shimmer and shine. Melted all this again then stamped into it with my Artemio Butterfly Collage stamp which was inked with Brilliance Galaxy Gold … you can buy all these items from our sponsor Marina at Cottage Crafts. Stamped and embossed onto a piece of acetate with the same ink pad and added to the front of the card which had been cut out with a spellbinders frame die.

This is a first for me girls … so excited … my very first Video Tutorial on how to make the second butterfly on the card. This is a concertina butterfly and at the moment my favourite item to make … have a box full of them πŸ˜€ If you would like a copy of the Butterfly Template please click the email button above and type Butterfly in the subject box and I will send to you..

Today is the day you have to see all the DT’s creations because everyone is a wowser.

Lemon Meringue Pie Easel Calendar

That’s it 2011 is no more now let’s celebrate
2012
HAPPY NEW YEAR ONE AND ALL
I wish everyone good health, wealth, happiness and peace but most of all have fun and smile.

Thank You and more to all my amazing followers.
Fabiola
and Irene a special thanks to both of you.

Please don’t forget to pop back tomorrow so you can see my finished album (but not all embellished yet) for the
Postcards Challenge 2012 also to see what country we are visiting first and which of my characters will be there.

Fashionable Stamping Challenges has started their New Year with another fantastic challenge … Anything Goes With Your New Stash.

Badly needed a new calendar for 2012 but sadly didn’t get one … so made my own … loved making this easel calendar … not pink I hear you say … nope wanted it fresh and sunny but it turned out looking like a lemon meringue on my desk … still love it.

Threw everything at this card πŸ˜† Stamping, heat embossing, dry embossing, paints, crackle painting, inking, stitching, made flower even personalised the calendar with all my special dates … you can just see the 26th January has a heart round it – that’s my grandsons birthday he will be 12 this year, hoping he was going to be a millennium baby but Claire held on to long πŸ˜†

Wait for it just know you are going to say yukkk!!! … my new foam stamp was stamped onto toilet paper (clean and unused) then carefully pulled apart (delicate operation) to one single layer, taped onto the doily and appliquΓ©d onto the Anna Griffin paper. Bit of a dilemma with the colouring as it is very fragile, used a paintbrush dipped it into a yellow pigment ink then gently brushed onto the toilet paper, added clear embossing powder and heated on a slow setting 😎 tore away all the excess toilet paper after I had stitched . Stitched this onto the background which was painted with MS satin acrylic paint (jonquil) a layer of PVA glue was applied then white paint, left all to dry and hey presto it crackled showing this gorgeous lemon meringue colour.

Made the beautiful butterfly on the front which is a story in itself, going to tell all in my first video tutorial … which I am making for the next challenge at FSC πŸ˜‰

After that marathon you must pop over and see all the Fashionettes creations because they will just wow you even more.

Entering Gingersnap Creations Colour Challenge Soft looking meringue colours … not really … they want to see soft yellows and white.

Travel Around The World

Travelling Around The World is this fortnight’s theme at Fashionable Stamping Challenges. Marina from Cottage Crafts is giving away a beautiful Artemio stamp to the winner so no excuses this fortnight just get out all those stamping goodies and have a play with us.

The amazing Fashionettes have excelled themselves on the catwalk this week and their creations are gorgeous so hop on over and have a peek through the curtains at all the stunning artwork. My DT piece is a centre stepper card made especially for a man in mind.

This time round the card was all experimental for me because I wanted to showcase embossing folders and masks in a different way on a card and lucky for me it worked quite well … eh, I think so but not sure what you will think πŸ˜€ because I usually get comments saying … blah, blah, different … not sure if this is a good or a bad thing.

Maybe it’s because I don’t really have any particular style with cardmaking, I just love to play and experiment, whether it be a pretty card, which I adore making …(but couldn’t just churn out the same old thing, cutesy image, flowers, ribbon in the middle) … an album or manly, the fun of making and being pleased with how it turns out is good for me … but hey everyone is different and it truly is whatever works for you.

Playing around in gimp after I have made a project is also another thing I love to do and at the moment experimenting with layers is my flavour of the month as you can see by all the little scrolls around my pic … will probably tire of this soon as I think it makes the pics look busy πŸ™‚

For my new technique I made a slit at the top of the middle panel on the card and slid the TH embossing folder from Artful Muse through (your slit should only be a teensy teensy fraction bigger than the embossing folder you are using) eg., TH folder measures … 7.2 cm width so the slit should be 7.4 cm … picture 2 should give you an idea of what I mean, then put through your die cutting machine (it will only go through one way ) unless you are lucky enough to have a beast of a machine called the Big Shot Pro … which I had for Christmas last year … or a Grand Calibur from Spellbinders.

Next I used the Compass Mask from Creative Expressions and fiddled around with each section of the card so it looked fairly close to a circle then sponged through with a Soft Suede ink pad from Stampin Up. Also inked, very very carefully the Old Jalopy Car.

Technically this is the second time I have used this technique below is a pic of a Christmas card that I made in October but never showed.
Also showed Claire, Irene and Brenda this technique … cool eh 😎

Christmas At FSC

FSC has a gorgeous challenge theme this time round which is I’m Dreaming Of A White Christmas. This doesn’t necessarily mean an all white card you can actually make any Christmas card or project you want.

Marina at Cottage Crafts has an adorable stamp up for grabs to the winner of this challenge so hop on over and have a go.

We have a new DT member joining us with this challenge …
she is known to blog land already so why not go have a mooch and leave some love for Paula Ephemera’s Attic.

Made a larger card for the challenge and dusted off the sewing machine which I haven’t used for ages. The photo doesn’t show it off very well at all but the Father Christmas image in the middle was stamped onto plain beige material, padded at the back with wadding, then stitched all around the edges to give a beautiful raised effect. Used the Brilliance tri coloured ink pad called Tiramisu and the Papermania stamp which you can find here. Frayed the edges of the material and laid on a layer of gauze. The rest of the stamped images are from the Winter Post collection from SU, these I stamped onto the paper behind which is from the My Minds Eye Signature Christmas collection.

Found these lovely lace flowers and tiny tartan bows from my stash.
