New YouTube Video Tutorial

This is the box which I show you how to make on my YouTube channel but there are some extra embellishments on this box which I added after I had finished the video.

The flowers are an added touch which I made with lace and ribbon which are probably my fave embellishments to make they just add elegance to anything you make. Also finished off the back of the box and for this I stamped a couple more of the Flapper girls and then lightly coloured with Copics, one of which was decoupaged over the girl already on the box.

Watch this space I am making another video at the moment … have started to loose the nervousness and so enjoying making this third one which is a fabric album!!!

Victorian Elegance In A New Light

I have used a gorgeous stamp on this card which I bought from here, as you can see she is very demure and elegant, but because I added a pretty edge at the top of the card as you can see the border punch has given her a risquΓ© look … Crafting Porn!!! Get them out for the lads 😳

With the frantage I actually tried something different for myself, I have used it usually with splodges on a card but this time I wanted to try and paper piece her dress with it and wahoo it worked beautifully … apart from the cleavage bit  So instead of paper piecing I have Frantage pieced!!!

Anyway it’s Saturday and so far a glorious day but won’t hold my breath and what is Saturday … class day today at Cottage Crafts and Marina had a new Frantage Embossing kit in so I have used on my card for the girls to try out as a new technique for them. I have also used the Distress Stains which will be another first for them.

More news girls there is a new stamping only (no digi images allowed) challenge blog starting soon with this Stamp Company and if anyone is interested in applying for the new Design Team please e-mail for more information or leave a comment.

Oriental

Sunday 1st July, that’s another month gone already and still no sign of our summer ah well there’s always next year 😯

I have made a video tutorial of how to make this box but it’s not ready yet, hopefully will be posting sometime today … fingers crossed!!!

Our new theme this time round at Fashionable Stamping Challenges is Oriental, below is an ATC box I have made so that I can store all my ATC’s that I have collected over the years … instead of lying in an ole shoe box!! They can now sit on my desk 😎

Can you believe I never noticed that these are my husbands initials until he pointed it out … that’s what comes of being married for nearly 30 years!!!

You have to go see all the Fashionettes creations they are just awe inspiring especially as this theme seems to have been a challenge for even us πŸ˜‰

Sail Away

I decided on a man’s card for this weeks class at Cottage Crafts, it looks quite a simple card but there are lots of different techniques to teach the girls which I know they are going to love My class girls struggle sometimes with distressing the edges so this time round I am going to show them how to blend with a brush.

Have stamped the three images onto watercolour card then used Distress Inks and the Memories Mist Iridescent which gives it such a gleam.

For more info about the classes please pop on over to Marina’s blog here.

Aloof Dressed In Inchies

Distressed wasn’t the word when I dropped a small can of red paint yesterday … Vogue Moulin Rouge … but lucky enough it was emulsion and cleaned up OK but that wasn’t the last of it. Had this great idea of painting some directly onto bubble wrap then running through the Spellbinders Grand Calibur. Guess who put to much paint onto the bubble wrap and it squigged out everywhere, another mess to clean up but the cardstock looked great. πŸ˜€ Couldn’t face making anything yesterday but today I was in the mood and below is my finished piece.

I used to love inchies but haven’t made anything with them for a long while so out came my new Studio 490 Stamps which I bought whilst back in the UK but only just getting around to using. You can actually buy stamps that are the perfect size for inchies but I have made my own. Stamped the flapper from the set onto a 5″ x 2″ piece of painted card (OK stop laughing), used Versamark and black embossing powder before cutting into 1″ squares. Trust me they are evenly spaced but the pic make them look lopsided!!!

Here is a close up of the cut out inchies and the bubble painted card (still hear you laughing). The parasol is from Crafty Individuals but the bumble bee has been cut into from the background paper to give more dimension.

Bookworm

This ATC came about because I saw Hels Sunday Stamper and she wants you to Pick A Pocket Or Two so decided to put a pocket on one of my ATC’s and add a tag … but not just any ole pocket … an acetate one. It didn’t show up so I stamped onto it with a sentiment still could hardly see it so blobbed ink onto it … not to bad … then the problems started how to attach it … remember it is only 3.5″ x 2.5″. I stitched it on but it looked awful so brain went into overdrive and I decided to add some brown lace around the edges … ah but what idiot didn’t change the white cotton. This was turning into a nightmare but then a lightbulb moment colour in the stitching with Pro markers … mmmm it didn’t look to bad anyway judge for yourselves 😯

It is such a surprise to see these colours when the tag is removed. If you look HERE you can see which ATC I have used this time … only five more to go.

Time For Tea With Bingo

What a clever Mr Tim to make these embossing folders a perfect size for ATC’s this is one from the Playing Games set, also have the Poker Face which is brilliant.

Love the Prima clear stamps these are another useful accessory for ATC’s as you can see below … used the Meadow Lark and Nature Garden very pretty.

To enhance the bird and flowers, coloured both with TH Markers then the Bingo, flowers plus the bird were given a coat of glossy accents. Finally another enhancement was to stitch along the little tape measure and the top of the cup … isn’t it always the way when I had finished and was giving the once over I realised I should have used TH Crackle Accents for the word BINGO … ah well!!!

My ATC’s are nearly coming to an end below is the last of my play around backgrounds, who can believe what you can make with a bit of paint, paste, masks, glimmer mists and embossing folders. These are all ready to embellish and you can just see the Little Car and Man on two of them.

Two More

Me again with another 2 ATC’s … ah ha …what is she going to do with these you ask well …
a few of my teemie sisters from FSC are having a swap with me, Claire has first dibs of which ATC she wants so I decided to show them all to let her decide. More to come Claire so you don’t have to decide yet. πŸ˜†

Making these has been so satisfying because I have been playing around with moulding paste, crackle glaze, embossing folders and glimmer mists. Fun and play is the name of the game with crafting and I am certainly having both with these.

Spiffing

This is the other ATC I wanted to show you … it shows more of the background which I made with the modelling paste and acrylic paint.
When I mixed the paste and paint together I dragged it through a piece of sequin waste which gave it dimension and so touchy feely. The edges have been inked with Chipped Sapphire.

This one is probably my fave so far because the background was a bit left over from a piece of card that I gessoed and then stamped into. The doily was inked then the edges were patted with versamark before being covered with clear embossing powder. Placed it onto the card and spritzed with Key Lime Pie Glimmer Mist. Image is from a CD which I stamped over with the Prima Frame Stamp called Believe, lastly I stitched around the image to make it pop more.

Just Thinking

Back from my play day just in time to show you another ATC which I made.
What did I play around with today I hear you ask, well check out that background it was made with modelling paste and acrylic paint. It is so touchy feely and very dimensional, if I get time to take a pick of the other ATC you will be able to see more of the background. Acrylic paint used is docrafts Avocado with Fired Brick distress ink around the edges.
