What am I like, started making my card for tomorrow’s class and then went off on a complete journey of my own. This is where that journey took me, I love it but not sure that the girls will !!!
Oh well back to the drawing board. Will use the same elements but probably make the card a wee bit prettier and more colour!!! Anyway pop back tomorrow and see what pops out of this little head.
Image transfer … never ever tried this before because I have a laser printer and everything I have read about the transfer technique says you need to use an inkjet. This piece started as a play around but guess what the image transfer worked!!!! Not only that but I have been experimenting and using lots of different papers, fabrics, glue mediums and all the results have been amazing. Wahoo one very happy bunny here with another new thingy to muck around with. Still playing with the Frantage such a super cool product plus all the different stitches on my machine.
Don’t you just love it when you find a beautiful border stitch then you end up covering it with loads of embellies … crazy eh, all that work for nothing!!!
The first pic below is the transfer which I did onto a piece of fabric, image is a die cut tag from the Graphic 45 Lé Romantique Collection. After I had exposed the image it was a little light so I dipped my finger into some diamond glaze (as you do), ran it over the image … whoa it just popped off the page like magic. Not only that but it felt like that material which has been coated with plastic. Another plus it became very pliable and no cracking.
Lots of images in the draft stages … just waiting for my little fingers to rub off the paper … yuk this is the only part I don’t like …
hummmm wonder if I can convince hubby that he likes it!!!

Saturday and we all know what that means playtime with the girls.
Sadly a few away this week due to other commitments but my card for the class today is a very girly and pretty card … just what the girls prefer to make me thinks, no distressing or inked edges just old fashioned stamping and colouring.
For all those who know me tea is the one thing I can’t stand … never drink the stuff.
Here is a close up of the card and also the doily lifts up to show more tea cups and a sentiment.
Today the class is more about using the Tim Holtz markers for colouring. All the stamping has been done with white embossing powder and then coloured with the markers. Used Scattered Straw, Tumbled Glass and Shabby Shutters. The stamps are from Stampin Up called Tea Shoppe.
When you start making something do you get that feeling where you know everything is just going to fall into place, well that was the feeling I got when making this tag. Mind you I think it helped because it’s pink and purple.
Used the freebie butterfly from Craft Stamper again (only because it was still on my desk from yesterday) also the dress form again surprise surprise because that was still on my desk from Saturday. The two butterflies with the buttons on were both stamped onto fabric but the third was stamped onto watercolour cardstock. I first inked with various TH DI and then flicked water on … well threw it on actually because the dog jumped up at the exact time I was delicately dropping it. Stamped the butterfly with a Brilliance Ink, Twilight, which is a tri-colour. Waste not want not I say and with the leftovers I stitched it behind the dress form.
Had a play with my sewing machine again and everything on this tag was stitched, didn’t use one bit of glue apart from the little purple rope which has diamond glaze on it.
Used my fave pattern on the sewing machine the leaf which I used to stitch on the linen gauze at the back of the die form, spritzed with glimmer mist first.
I could easily buy Estelle’s stamps just for the way they look when they pop through the letterbox.
When I see the envelope which she sends the stamps in sitting on the mat I just get so excited and can’t wait to open … never rip one of Estelle’s envelopes you open carefully and save everything ready to put onto some crafting goodie you might make. Can you see the little Ophelia stamp well she was on the envelope, cut her with a die, inked the edges and she looks just divine. Anyway this is the stamp I bought Adriana … gorgeous or what.
Teamed her with the freebie stamp from The Craft Stamper magazine this month … do so love these little freebies each month. One butterfly has been stamped onto paper and the other is fabric. Also stitched a few beads onto their wings. What you can’t really see is the beautiful little glass leaves or the distressed background of the tag.

Don’t you just love when that happens, gaily stitching along without a care in the world and then it happens … yikes … no more cotton on the bobbin!!! To make matters worse I had no more cream cotton to wind onto the bobbin. As luck would have it because I had cut the material out with an ornate frame die I decided not to carry on with the rest of the stitching because it looked OK!!! See what you think.
When I was younger I used to love wearing hats so when I saw this stamp I just had to have it, you can buy it HERE. Stamped her onto material because I wanted a delicate look about her.
The chipboard buckle and flower were painted with acrylic paint then triple embossed. On the second layer of embossing I added an iridescent mica powder. For the last heated layer I inked up a crackle stamp with Galaxy Gold Brilliance ink then stamped into the molten powder. The Spellbinders frame was cut from … wait for it … yep the ole cereal boxes … painted with acrylic paint, added a layer of crackle glaze then added a different colour acrylic paint.
I’m sure like most crafters when you give a class you are left with lots of bitzy bits that you have been showing the girls how to make. I usually throw them into my bit box ready for another time … that time never comes. So today I have had a play around with all those bitzy bits left over and made this tag. Only did three french knots this time … one in the middle of the butterfly which doesn’t show up very well … but so pleased because I found 2 little brads that matched them perfectly.

The pocket for the tag was made by cutting out a nestie scalloped circle from card stock then cutting out a plain nestie circle from paper and glueing one on top of the other. You then cut the circle in half and add a score line either side which when folded gives you the pocket for the tag. Because you cut the circle in half you end up with two pockets. I actually worked my pockets out so that they house an ATC and I made the tags myself to fit the pocket. The nesties used are the largest of the Grand Scalloped Circles and the largest of the Grand Circles which I put through my mean machine the Big Shot Pro.

Theresa is either going to love it or hate it, not sure which 😆 Susan on the other hand will love it, the rest of the girls the jury is still out with the inking and painting.

Those were the days ahhhhh!!! Andrew and I lived in Kuwait for seven years and whilst there I met some amazing quilters who had set up a quilting class. I loved sewing and made my own clothes, curtains, cushions, novelty things like rag dolls, bags, Disney outfits but had never done quilting so I joined. Hooked or what, my time spent at those classes were fabulous.
Today I am showing you a Sunbonnet Sue All Through The Year quilt which I made for my first granddaughter a few years ago. Quilting is partly about preciseness and neatness which is sadly how my mind works … a right pain sometimes. Samplers are a good way to start but appliqué was the way I veered off and I loved every minute of the making. Still love my sewing but the cutting out plays havoc on my hands so I don’t make quilts anymore. In actual fact I use my rotary cutters and quilters rule for my cardmaking now (very useful) … I very rarely use a paper trimmer at all.
Lots of photos because this quilt is showing every month of the year, I have even added some cross stitch into the quilt … you do this by using waste canvas which is water soluble.
Can honestly say that each time a square was finished just couldn’t wait to start the next. The part I disliked the most is the tacking of the top layer to the wadding and bottom layer but when this was done I so looked forward to all the hand stitching to attach everything, all those swirls and hearts are hand stitched
