At last a little peek of Amber’s Memory Album….
Amber is huge into Owls, had to put an owl somewhere on her album.

Happy Sunday to everyone and wow the last two days have been glorious, wall to wall sunshine so my card this week for Sentimental Sundays has a spring feel to it. It’s all about the sentiment this week. Please check out the girls creations for a little bit of inspiration, there is always a lovely surprise to be found when you go blog hopping … read on further to see what I mean.
Only used two colours with my white card and being in the spring mood it had to be lemon and green.
My choice for colouring was chalks because I wanted a soft and whimsical feel for her, netting was placed over the image when completed, which totally gave it the floaty feel. Used yet another one of my fave techniques for this card … masking … just love it because you can achieve such wonderful results.
What am I like for playing … Andrew hates it because he’s the one who usually has to sort out the mess when it all goes horribly wrong … all he hears is this high pitched shriek followed by Andrewwwww … yippee not this time hun … it worked and not only have I made a lovely background but also learnt how to place her separately.
I adore my cardmaking and playing with paper … nothing can beat it … but I also love the computer side since I started my blog, it gives me so much pleasure to display my cards and projects in such a pretty way.
Had a quick mooch around … as you do … to see what challenges she would fit and came across the Make It Colourful Challenge saw Barbara’s card … just another quick hop to check it out … or so I thought … and hey presto my inspiration for trying this new technique came within seconds of seeing her absolutely beautiful blog, with all the extra little images dotted around … just had to try it for myself and so totally delighted with the results … thank you Barbara for such a pretty blog Forgotten Scraps.

Hi Suzanne haven’t done a flag book before but I made this card about 5 years ago.
It works on the same principle as the book, never knew what to call it … now I do … eh Flag Card!!!
Ummmm I feel my third tutorial might be this card.
(Click on image to see larger view)
It works on the same principal as the book, also the left hand topper on the card is the same as the larger image in the middle.

Me chose the colour green option this week so pop over and collect your freebies, see all the loooovely inspiration from the other teemies and don’t forget, if you win, you get to pick four individual sentiment sets from

Please, please don’t forget to add your sentiment, we have had some beautiful creations not entered into the prize draw because no sentiment was added.
Now how cute is he, another Penny Black image called … Fly Away … on my project. The tag has the actual original image stamped and coloured on it, then I scanned it and printed off a copy ready to make the card. As you can see the scanned image is much sharper and the colours have changed a little, but still not a bad likeness. I was also able to change the image so that he looked the other way. Guess what I forgot to do … put my signature on the tag … silly billy.

Michele e-mailed and asked if I could give her a few hints and tips on how to make this card so I decided to make my second tutorial.
A big tip for when you are using your embossing folders – put some kind of mark on the front of your embossing folders … I always put my name … because this reminds me which side embosses … especially handy for when I need to de-boss … this lets me know to turn the folder over and have my mark at the back.
The first picture below shows everything used to make the card and the second picture shows how to put the embossing folder over the card, then put through whatever embossing machine you prefer …. aren’t I the lucky one hubby bought me the Big Shot Pro for Christmas and all I can say is wow oh wow, it is the bees knees. The folder used is by Crafts Too called Swirl Frame. Card used is a 6 x 6 Craftwork Cards scalloped and fits perfectly width ways into your cutting machines.
First picture below shows how it should look when you have finished embossing.
Next picture shows the card on the Big Shot plate with the embossing folder, but this time I used the Crafts Too Daisy folder.
Also I wanted to de-boss my card so I made sure my name was at the back when I put onto the card, all will make sense once you have cut out the aperture.
When the card is opened out … the left hand side is debossed and the right embossed.
Second picture shows the front of the card (which is embossed) then you need to cut out the aperture following the inside lines.
I personally always change my mat when I cut out, to a glass one, the difference is tremendous.
The blade just glides over the glass and through the card effortlessly and also the Fiskars finger tool cutter is the best ever.
This is how it should look when you have cut out the aperture.
Last picture shows the inside embossing through the aperture.
Hope all is clear and you enjoy making this card, if there is anything you do not understand please don’t hesitate, just e-mail and hopefully I will try and explain more.
