Entering for the challenge over at Sentimental Sundays this week they would like to see black white + one and a sentiment. I know quite a simple looking card for me, used an Anna Griffin Stamp which I have had since the ice age …. well a long time …. stamped and embossed it once on a red card, again on a white then cut both down the middle and put back together wrongly …. eh think you get the picture…. Enjoy …

Still a newbie to this but can’t wait to see what number becomes mine when I enter WOYWW this week, last one was 97. It won’t happen this week but my ambition is to try and get the number of Patrick McGoohan from the Prisoner …. I know what number he was but I’m not saying because you will all want to try and get it ….. a little clue …. it is the date of my birthday.

Yes you are seeing double …. one for me and whoopee one for you …. OMG is this ambitious or what, there are two desks showing today, one is full of the goodies I am using for my next project and the other is full of the Blog Candy, which one lucky person will be winning. Everything you need to make the same project is here plus lots more besides …. a huge big thank you to Marina who is the owner of Cottage Crafts in Craanford for all the extra goodies …. wish my desk had the extra goodies on.

Black Rose – Phil Lynott/Thin Lizzy

010332

Well knock me down with those feathers …. I don’t usually take pictures of my commissioned cards but this one is an exception because it is for a very special lady, I don’t know the lady who the card is being given to but the brief for the card was as follows:

A black rose on the front of the card in 3D, the lady is very glamorous and would sometimes wear feathers in her hair, likes diamantés, the rose had to go in the middle of the card, her name, a particular verse and the date of the birthday on it. When I read all of that I thought not my cup of tea …. this is going to be a Barbara Cartland card …. until I read further down the brief and it said the card was for the mother of the late great Phil Lynott, then everything made sense.

Phil Lynott was a rock legend and part of the very huge hit band in the 70’s called Thin Lizzy. Those of you in blog land, unless you were part of the seventies era, will probably not have heard of the band, but all you others will have. Such a brilliant person, and my husband was a huge big fan of his in his youth. If you would like to read more about Phil and Thin Lizzy just take a look here.

Anyway back to the card decided it had to be quite simple looking …. otherwise as I said very Barbara …. you know the rest. Also could understand the brief loads more because one of Thin Lizzy’s Albums was called Black Rose, again if you want to see more info look here. Would have liked to put a black feather with the white but none in stash, tried red ribbons but they didn’t look right so went with the burgandy.

Well that’s my 15 mins of fame …. gonna milk this and dine on it for years …. blah blah …. did I tell you when I made …. you get the picture.

and my first challenge with Let’s Ink It Up is ………

doesn’t have to be a Halloween project can just be the colours

(that’s lucky because I don’t have anything halloweeny)

We are lucky enough to have BIZZY BECS as our sponsor for this challenge.

Bec, owner of Bizzy Becs has generously sponsored us with a prize package of….

thanks so much Bec, we have fantastic sponsors here at Let’s Ink It Up.

Here’s a little about our sponsor, Bec

Bec says, Bizzy Becs sells a wide variety of products that suit all cardmakers. Gorgeous rubber stamps, including Bizzy Becs Stamps, Magnolia, Bildmalarna,

Whiff of Joy to name but a few, Copics, Spellbinders, Cuttlebug and lots of embellishments and other yummy goodies………

All the DT’s have come up with some fantastic projects as always, and will surely inspire you, don’t forget to check out their blogs on the right hand side bar to see what else they have been up to as they are amazingly talented. You will notice Tammy is missing for this challenge, Tammy has been unwell and will retun for challenge #5, get well soon, we all miss you.

For my first project on Let’s Ink it Up I have made a Waterfall Memory Album …. (lots of photos) …. the first photo is the front of the album and then just like a waterfall card you pull the ribbon and the pages flip over. All the pages which are blank are where I am going to put photos.

This was a marathon project with lots of stamping, colouring, glimmer misting, distressing, ripping, tearing, reverse masking, flower soft, rub-ons, punches, stitching, micro beads and anything else I could lay my hands on, last but not least they are all in those beautiful Autumn colours for the challenge. I hope you enjoy looking as much as I enjoyed making and can’t wait to add my photos.

Oops forgot to say I have two more piccies to take of the album but they will have to wait until light is better tomorrow …. Last two posted enjoy.

What’s On Your Desk Wednesday

010320

First time of entering WOYDW and in one way or another most of what’s on my desk is going onto my next project. Not sure how other bloggers work out what to put on their next card or project but this is the way it works for me. I have play days where I don’t necessarily want to make a card but I need to craft and then when it is finished it goes into what I call my bit boxes. These are the boxes I turn to when I am busy and haven’t got time to start everything from scratch.

I usually start with a cleared desk (sorry girls but I am one of those neat freaks but totally wish I wasn’t) then you can find me dustbin diving to see if there is anything I can use from the trusty bit boxes. Today my project is ……… (can’t tell you yet it’s a secret .. he he) …. and a very happy bunny am I because so far all the embellies have come from the bit boxes, even a ready made bow.

Now that I have taken the photo everything will be pushed to one side and then the fun part begins of making something. Sorry girls but will not be posting what it is until Sunday …. watch this space….

Just had to put a little footnote here …. started leaving comments and my number is … 97…. well the first thing that sprang to mind was the TV program “The Prisoner” OK this is an age thing here and unless you remember the program you are probably not going to get the meaning …. would love to know if you do!!!!

Watercolour

010316010317010319010318

This is a card within a card so not sure what you would call it but I liked the wrap idea from my previous card and wanted to do another. Used one of the PB images I bought when in the UK last.

Coloured the stamp with Tombo markers and then spritzed with water for the watercolour effect, managed to get two images stamped, the second being softer, used this for the inside …. neat eh. Papers are Basic Grey digi downloads.

PaperPlay Challenges want to see – Hidden extra, mine is the other card inside.
Stampavie and more – More than one fold

Plain White

010313010314010315

What a challenge this card was to make but very, very satisfying.

I saw the challenge over at Colour Create – All White (with a coloured image) and thought …. I like that idea …. usually all white is kinda not my scene …. only because I find it hard to take photos …. but because of the image part decided to give it a go.

Decided on an accordion fold card because it gave me a larger area to display the huge bow …. not usually a big bow person but this card does it justice. I make all my own bows, I taught myself a long time ago from a super book called …. 101 Sewing Secrets …. bought this in 1989. Embossing folder used is the Do Crafts, Victorian Fleur …. very pretty. Oh so blingy with the diamond dust on the wings of the butterfly and around the edge of the die cut. Put two strips of ribbon on the card and trimmed to size, punched out the flowers and added netting and pearls from my stash.

Incy Wincy – Anything Goes
My Partner in Crafting Crime – Clean & Simple – It certainly looks clean.
Tuesday Throwdown – Punches
Gingerloft Challenge – Glitter & Bling
Stamp, Scrap & Doodles – An open challenge just have fun
Flutter By Wednesday – Sparkle and shimmer with your butterfly, fairy or angel
