Vintage Lady

Stamping, masking, embossing, inking and distressing onto a tag….back into my comfort zone.

I liked this image so much…so feminine… added a few more features….beads, flowers and a lot more embossing on the actual image itself also added a butterfly and stitched on some lace.

Coloured the dress with faded jeans ink and also marked certain areas with an embossing dual pen then added moon glow embossing powder blue gold…did the same with the butterfly double embossed with different coloured embossing powders…effect is really lovely and very shimmery wish you could see the real thing. Masked off the image to stamp the background detail. Other colours used are Victorian velvet and shabby shutters.

Two male cards together….. what am I on?

This is one of the eleven new Ethereal Forest Designs Store digi stamps and totally out of my comfort zone of what I usually like to colour.

Decided to use distressed inks because it was easier and totally surprised with the outcome…very pleased with it….

Hope you like the card as much as I enjoyed making it

One for Sam

Hope you’re all having a well earned break this

Easter Monday

Talking about Monday… we all know what that means to us crafters…. yay!!!

Crafty Angels challenge time. This week we have a sketch (provided by Sandie) for you to follow. As you probably know I am not keen on sketches….only because I can’t seem to stick to the game plan….always wanting to add extra or make changes….think I have done quite well with my nephew Sam’s card.

Used the greeting Farm image… Ian…bought from the Crafty Angels on line store….no colouring this time…. hand not up to it until the stitches come out (only one more week)…. and to make matters worse all my new pro-markers arrived Friday….as you can imagine chomping at the bit to use them.

Stamped onto a white nestie oval, then stamped again…but this time embossed the image onto a smaller orange nestie oval…married up the two images. Wanted some height for the ovals so used pinflair gel to glue together.

I made the letters at Laura’s crop last month…you will find more info here South East Crafters. If having loads of fun.. lots of laughs (especially when Breeda is there)…learning new techniques….then this is the place for you…I just love it and can’t wait for each month’s crop.

The theme last month was distressing…adore it. We used the Tim Holtz grunge board (as well as lots of other goodies)…coloured with paint daubers, sanded and then diamond glazed all over.

Used a blanket stitch for the papers, punched a heart (I’m sure Sam won’t mind this on his card) and the buttons are from my stash.

Added digi sentiments as well which is another thing I don’t normally do…. until I am ready to give the card to someone… but this sentiment can be used for anything so decided to add now.

All new images are available on 1st April at Ethereal Forest Designs Store you won’t be disappointed so go and have a browse now.

Coloured with water colours and added diamond stickles.

Elymira

010149010151

Another stunning digi image from Ethereal Forest Designs this time it’s Elymira…the name alone is gorgeous.

Pop along and browse here all the other creations from the DT’s they are just stunning.

Coloured Elymira with copics, added loads of micro beads to the circles….they actually remind me of my favourite sweet in the pack of liquorice allsorts…they only come in pink or blue and are sooo yummy.

Used the Tim Holtz grunge board for the letter E which I painted with the Adirondack paint dabbers and then covered with glossy accents. Not sure who this card will be for so have left space above Elymira image for a sentiment.

Pink papers are K & Co Amy Butler and the nestie is Basic Grey, flowers, lace, beads and brads all from stash.

Enjoy looking as much as I did making

Easter

010147

Crafty Angels time and this week we would love to see any of your Easter creations.

Very late last night taking the photo and not very happy with it but best I can do at the moment.

Will have to pop back later with info as I am off to the hospital this morning… fingers crossed today is the day the pins come out of my finger.

Back with Update

Trying to type left handed and with one finger….very frustrating.

Seven months later and the pins in my finger are finally out….yippee.

Bandaged, stitched and strapped up but what a relief to finally be free of pain.

My finger eventually realised there was a foreign body in there and an infection set in about three weeks ago…not very nice.

Andrew says… just like me takes a while to cotton on….he can have that one only because he ordered my pro-markers….now you know why he bought me them, to cheer me up…(broke the mold after him).

What am I like…. still managed to do my papercrafting….taking a lot longer though….. colouring, piecing, cutting paper, making bows, sticking and pasting all kept me happy….little voice in the background says…. well most of the time.

Next hurdle is in 2/3 weeks, medication is being changed, wonder what new challenges that will bring.

Easter Bunny Basket

010139

The Fussy and Fancy Challenge this fortnight is Easter and I have chosen an Ethereal Forest Designs Easter Bunny image…been saving this image especially for this challenge.

The Charm Barn are sponsoring this challenge and all charms used have been donated by them.

Made an Easter basket…one side has the bunny image and the other has the beautiful charm bunny ….sooo cute.

Every time I moved the basket to take a photo an egg fell off…so….as you do… I ate it. Didn’t realise until I saw the photo of the side where the charm is that I had eaten all the eggs on that side… oops.

Long story time……when home in the UK Amber’s Easter egg was sitting in a little box and I realised I could take it apart and make a template of it. It was too big to fit on an A4 sheet so after quite some time…. and a few chosen words….Andrew and I made a new template….had just made the basket up with copy paper… just to make sure it worked OK… when in walked JP and Clare and what had they bought me the same Easter egg but in a smaller basket…again a few choice words were uttered.

010146

Coloured bunny with USArt sparkling pearlescent pastels, added diamond glaze to the eggs and a pearl for his eye…..really lovely effect. His ears and tail are covered with flower soft which I then painted over.

Flowers are made with tissue paper and gives a soft and floaty look to the basket….have placed tiny little flower baubles in the middle of each. At one end of the basket there is a huge chiffon bow and at the other another tissue flower. The string of beads along the scalloped edge are stitched in place and also the lace trim beads at the bottom. Petals and white flowers from stash.

Jewel Dirt

010137

The face says it all she looks so pleased with herself.

Another gorgeous digi image from Ethereal Forest Designs and this is where you can buy her.

Wow… sneak peak week starts today so keep checking out all the other DT’s blogs to see what they will be creating… don’t forget to check back here also.

A little bit about Jewel Dirt… coloured her with Copics and Promarkers….. also added a little bit of whining because I don’t have enough of either…. and guess what Andrew tells me to stop the moaning because he has ordered me the whole set of Promarkers. Guess who’s walking on cloud nine and can’t wait for them to come…. me silly.

Used the Magnolia Vintage Yellow Quilt for one of the mats… not sure of the other two and used a MS round the corner punch.

Stitched all the layers together, ribbon, brads, flowers and card candy all from stash.

Stella

010129010127

Here is the card which fits into the Box Envelope ….could not show it before because it is my DT card for the Crafty Angels Challenge today. It’s my turn to pick the challenge this week and I have chosen Paper Piecing……ahhh just love it.

010126

Please hop over and see what the lovely DT’s have created and leave a bit of sunshine with your comments….we could certainly do with it.

Laura sent us this gorgeous stamp, the lace, cream flowers and the delish K & Co papers…. so this is what I came up with.

Stella is so pretty she is from The Greeting Farm… you can buy her here. Stencil inked….(used the edge of a scalloped card for this)…. around the edges of the card…. inked the edges of the circle and also the lovely butterfly. Punched out an envelope and also added a butterfly which looks a bit squashed but trust me it isn’t I folded it so when you open the envelope it pops up.

Willow Dressing Up

010134

Entering for the:

Wow just thinking about next weekend when the clocks go forward….all those lovely light evenings how great is that.

Anyway back to the GD call….think I must have missed something… the brief was for 1 card stock, 2 designer papers, 1 button and 1 ribbon… most of the entries seem to have added extra.

I can see all your little minds going at the moment… where is the button… well look harder and you will find it tee hee…. and the ribbon is just one piece.

Used one of the beautiful papers from K & Co Winter Wonderland Collection and the other is a Fancy Pants… think it’s Crush. Did a lot of ripping and tearing… had to sit on my hands… just wanted to ink all those lovely torn edges.

Well what can I say about the image only…..goooooorgeous….

Willow Dressing Up.

Stamped her onto Whisper White card stock… first time I have used this….reserving judgement until I have tried it with Copics and Pro Markers…. but it works beautifully with my water colour pencils which I used to colour her in.

Off to find some challenges:
