Box Envelope

I never seem to get time to show you the box envelopes that I make so this time I have decided to show you the box first and if you would like to see the card which I have made for it, then you will have to keep popping back to see if I have posted it.

I adore making these envelope boxes and because they have depth to them it means you can layer the card quite high.

Papers are K & Co, May Arts Ribbon, cream flowers and lace are from the lovely Laura, orange and yellow flowers from stash, lastly leaves are punched. Nearly forgot to mention I have put two little magnet discs under the paper, one top and bottom so that when you close it stays shut…. cool eh.

Sandie asked the question did I have a template…. I don’t… I actually saw this in a magazine and it was made for an ATC. Light bulb moment and decided to adapt. This is for a 6×6 card and I had to join two pieces of card to make sure the flaps overlap but apart from that not hard to make. Maybe do a tutorial if anyone is interested.

Sydney Snake

Want to say a huge thank you for the girls at Cupcake Craft Challenge for picking my card Sweetie Bear as one of their top 5. The challenge this week is ***Going Green***

Sydney….wow… he is just too delish… I know, I can hear you all say….he’s a snake… but look at his face soo sweet… even I would give him a cuddle or two. You can find him here and all the other beautiful digi images at Ethereal Forest Design Store.

Have used the new ultra fine flower soft all over him and I am very impressed with the results. Was not really into the original flower soft (stop screaming at me flower soft fans) but I did use it every now and again to hi-light certain areas. Now… the ultra fine is a different matter I can see me using this a lot more (hope your all smiling now).

Papers are from Basic Grey…. Marrakech and used a forked tongue stitch….well that’s what I am calling it.

Used another of the gorgeous Nellie Snellen dies… have five at the moment but want more….they are so much cheaper than the nestabilities… which I still love. Used a nestie for the sentiment… which is also another digi image from Ethereal Forest Designs.

Miss Love Anya

Crafty Angels challenge time andSandie has set this weeks challenge, she has chosen….Lace and Hearts….good one….have a confession to make it should have been me setting the challenge but I was so behind with everything because of just coming back from holiday that Sandie offered to do it for me….owe you one Sandie and thanks

Back to card….Love Anya (Greeting Farm Stamp from Crafty Angels Store) is the image I chose and sat her on a nestie, coloured with copics and pro markers (still haven’t enough of either).

Picked up a pack of the red heart lace doilies when I was in the UK…(came in handy) and the lace is from my stash. Stitched the lace to the doily and also stitched on the papers which are from HOTP.Entering for:

Whimsical Fairy

I have to say a huge thank you to the Fussy and Fancy Girls who asked me to be one of the Guest Designers for the month of March.

The Challenge this fortnight is:

Green

(colour or recycle)

Sweet Pea Stamps are the sponsors for this challenge. I have to admit I hadn’t heard of them before but when I popped over to see their products I was just amazed… the images are gorgeous.

I chose recycle because I was given these delicious pieces of scrap material (they were going to be thrown away) so I have recycled them onto my card.

Stamped the fairy onto a piece of sheer fabric and cut it out with one of the new dies I bought when home in the UK. Frayed the edges of the material and then tied all the bits into a bundle (we crafters like to save everything and recycle).

Stitched all the material and the ribbon onto the card… no paper whatsoever.

Butterflies

Evonne has set the challenge this week at Crafty Angels…. pop on over and have a go…. the theme is Butterflies, which I know you will all agree, we adore them on our cards.

This is my first card as a DT Member with Crafty Angels (late because of being on holiday not a good start) but Laura is sooo sweet she has forgiven me…. thanks Laura.

Chose an Anya image…. which I just happened to have bought from Crafty Angels On Line Craft Store…. to compliment the butterfly which is…. I think…. a Cookie Cutter die cut…. It comes with two dies, one is plain and the other is fancy… really pretty and so three dimensional… note to myself should use it more. Paper pieced and coloured the image also added a few liquid pearls for good measure.

No background paper just stamping… used my new toys which I bought from Stamping Up. Irene had a party when I was home and I added a few goodies to my stash.

Sweetie Bear

Had a wonderful time at home (UK), really miss the grandchildren already. Both birthdays went well and can’t wait for Lauren’s birthday in April she will be seven (the baby in the family).

Sweetie Bear is another cute image and you can buy her from Ethereal Forest Designs Store along with other wonderful designs. If you enter our blog hop…. there is still time…. you never know it could be you who wins the $10 voucher and then you too can own Sweetie Bear and more.

For my card this week I printed the image directly onto the card and paper pieced it. Folded it in half and cut around the image through both pieces of card. Left a straight piece either side to give substance. The inside is decorated with two flowers and a bow. Two of the flowers are made by me and two are prima flowers. The ribbon is from my stash.

Inked, distressed and sanded sweetie bear and the eye shadow is coloured in with a sparkly Sakura pen, lace is also from stash.Entering for the:

Mischievous Mary’s turn this time and I have made a four drawer box…. very difficult to take photos of the box…. there is a photo with the drawer open (great place to leave my spare flowers).

Water coloured Mary and again added diamond glaze over the top (the in thing with me at the moment). Added the sentiment….. Things….. because things are what I will be keeping in the four drawers.

Giraffe Love

As soon as I saw Giraffe Love I knew this image was going to be used for my husband’s birthday card… so adorable… I just love the way the two heads entwine to form a heart. I water coloured and then added a layer of diamond glaze to really make it zing, did the same with the letters.

Sneak Peak… Mallard the Duck

Wow the fun has really begun and here is my sneaky peak of MALLARD THE DUCK.

Just sooo in love with all the new digis from Ethereal Forest Designs and extremely lucky to be working with them and also the hugely talented Design Team.

All will be revealed on March 1st when they are releasing 26 new images and sentiments of which some are really cutesy and humorous, I am sure they are going to make you laugh and go WOW. Please become a follower and then you won’t miss out.

Ingredients of Mallard….

Pink Petticoat have a freebie download at the moment and he was printed directly onto the paper and cut out, used a different paper for his beak. Repeated the process but only cut out the top half and hid him behind a fringe. (Sneaky Peak or what).

Made the rosette with ribbon and added a make yourself Papermania brad, buttons from stash.

Stitched background paper and used a wavy punch… a little fringing effect to hide MALLARD…. papers are from Basic Grey… Cupcake.

Don’t you just love how MALLARD’S eye has the flower above it.

Off to the UK today so won’t be posting for the next couple of days… withdrawal symptons have started already.

I am back for two birthdays this time my granddaughter Amber who will be 12 and Andrews….. not saying how old he is…..

More Fantastic News

Well can you believe my day… another blinkie, this one is from Cupcake Craft Challenge…. one of the top 5… a huge thank you to the design team for choosing my card….

It’s just like waiting for a bus… nothing and then two come along at once.

My exciting piece of news is……. I have been picked to be a DT member for Ethereal Forest Designs isn’t it all so yummy. Sneak peaks for the designs start, 22nd February and they will have new images on the first day of every month… wow I just can’t wait. Just had to make another meeee card…. (any excuse).

Anyway Shirl feet back on the ground and mention the card…. don’t you just go all gooey with these fabulous stamps from Whiff of Joy. This card actually opens where the two scalloped edges meet, wanted something a bit different. Paper piecing is my thing at the moment and I think she looks gorgeous…. (just what I would have liked to look like).

Went with the tassles again… oh so love these, ribbon, roses all from stash. All papers are a digi download (as usual).

Challenges to enter so far…. Challenge 91 – Spring is in the air over at A Spoon Full of Sugar also Allsorts Challenge – A recipe of 3-2-1… well I have three roses, two bows and one oh so cute image. Paper Sundaes – Glittery Spring (have to say only glitter on the card are the stars around the edge of the image which were made with a Sakura glitter pen (I’m sure this will count) .
