Gelato’s And Dot

Another fun Skype with Dot yesterday (check her post)and this time it was the Gelato’s that got the full treatment from us both.  She is finally converted and loves them to bits.  I had a sneak peak of her next project with them and all I can say is you are all in for a treat, nuff said.

My first make is on glossy card and the vibrancy of the colours really popped off the page so toned it down by spraying over with Dylusions White Linen.  Used one of the new stamps that I bought whilst at Ally Pally called “Man And Bird” from artStamp.  Stamped with a brown ink pad.  Gorgeous eh, bought three other sets whilst there (loads of other goodies as well) which I am sure you will see soon.

The second make was on Sheena’s stamping card where I used the same stamps but this time inked in black.  Used the same Gelato colours but they turned out more muted.  Also added some molding paste through a stencil in the corners but it doesn’t show so well in the pics.

He really looks as if he might fall over with the weight of that bird on his shoulder!!!  (Or is it that I put him on the block wonky???)

As I said to Dot earlier, I am really not sure who is leading who astray on all these Skype sessions Shirley !!

But judging by the fab results you could both be up to far worse things.

You know I am one for bold colours so both of these appeal and it would be so hard to choose a favourite as they are both beauties. Must remember to use the white linen more often as it’s given a totally different appearance to the first, almost misty which I really like.

Looks like you both had a fun time (I’ve seen Dots make). Also love that stamp have to stop myself keep using it. Can’t wait to see what else you bought, you can’t beat a good crafty spend.
    Love

It is always good to see a comparison – it always amazes me how different colours look on different papers/card. I do love the bold colours on the first card, which suits the muted stamped images. But, I also love the bold stamping on the second one too. They are both beautiful cards Shirl! Hugs, Anne xx

  4. What a difference the card makes! Love the shared experimentation and learning across the globe and I can definitely see Dot’s influence on the first card. You two are fantastic multi stampers and it’s a joy to see xx

  5. hehehe…I can tell you that it is so much fun to have someone to talk to and bounce ideas off while crafting, even though the reception isn’t always that great…this is such a treat for me. Thanks Shirley! I am so going to have to give the glossy card a go now! Still working on mine Shirley, guess what – I added more to it! All good!

Love the vibrant Gelatos colours on glossy but… I love the subtle look on the stamping card too. Great stamps, I am after some Carabelle beauties myself! xx

Oh, loving your ways of using Gelatos too here dear Shirl! Thank you for showing us two different effects depending on the paper you are using, glossy or not..
