Last week’s class was all about how to use the Gelli Plate.
We made some lovely backgrounds which meant that the girls went home with three very different cards.
We have a gorgeous little art shop in town and Sara, the owner, ordered in enough Gelli plates for all the girls in my class.
Had my usual play around after the class and wahoo the Distress Oxides came out, can’t wait for my new set to arrive from Art From The Heart.
Worn lipstick and fossilized amber are the colours used for this card.
Distress Oxides work really well on the Gelli Plate, my only advice would be, just take your time and steady with the water.
Stamped the girl image with DO worn lipstick, she stamped really well.
Stamps are from from Stampers Anonymous and a Dylusions one, die is a Sizzix Thinlets set – Mixed Media #4.
Stencil is a Crafters Workshop called, Ravenscape … only used the bird part and did some doodling inside.
That looks awesome Shirley! I have been itching to use the Gelli plate with inks rather than paints, but… do the Oxide stain the plate? My plate is virtually new so I’d like to keep it pristine just a bit longer… xx
Hi Shirley, gosh your class must have had sooo much fun using a gelli plate AND oxides too! Isn’t the Spun Sugar a gorgeous pink!!! I love how the oxides have picked up every detail in the stamped image of the girl. I hope the new colours find their way to you real soon.

Wowzer, and wishing we had some classes like that over here, zilch, none at all. So learning the gelli plate is trial and error for me and more fails than success. I am eager to try the IO on the plate and see how it goes…
Loving your gorgeous design and colours used.x
Wowww, this is very beautiful Shirley! I love it.
