It’s that time again to show the class project for last week which is all about watercolouring.
You can get some lovely textures ebbing and flowing within your card with such little effort, the water and inks do all the hard work for you.
For my background I wanted the card to be very tonal so only used three colours from the same family of brush markers.
I never refer to black or white when mentioning colours because this is a very grey area.
– black is the absence of colour and is therefore not a colour –
– white is the blending of all colours and is a colour … go figure.
The layering up embellishments are from corrugated card and some stamping.
Simply lovely – the watery inky flower is beautiful in that soft chalky background, and I love the kraft die-cut “branch” emerging out of the corrugate for your bird to perch on.

Lovely ethereal background! Amazing how the snippet of die-cut cardboard adds that special touch, wonderful Shirley!

Hi, Shirl! Your inks look fabulous in the background, and such a lovely creation with those fabulous, earthy textures! xx
Beautiful card Shirley, love the soft background with the tonal wildflower, love the addition of the cardboard embellishments.
