New Distress Oxides In Play

For this month’s challenge FSC is going with the theme of ‘Use Your Inks Anyway You Like’ which the lovely Dot picked.

My card below uses inks from the 1st set of Distress Oxides – vintage photo, iced spruce and fossilized amber.

Also rearing their heads are inks from the new 2nd set – frayed burlap and antique linen.

My preferred choice of card, for inks, is watercolour cardstock which I use a lot more of since the stamp positioners came into play.

Ring stamp is from Stampers Anonymous and I did the Iron Off Embossing Technique so that everything lays flat on the card with no shiny bits.

The other stamp is from Dina Wakley.

Would really love it if you hopped on over to see all the DT’s work as they are simply stunning.

Ink Art Designs Etsy Shop is sponsoring FSC and they will be offering a stamp for the winner of each new challenge.

Great post Shirl, love this new challenge as I have been playing with all sorts at the moment, from D/O to Alcohol inks, fun challenge…enjoy your Sunday.xx [aNNie]

  2. Just love this! Fabulous color choices and love the overall design. I was so hopeful that my recently acquired stamp positioner would work magic as I too prefer working on water color paper, but my initial attempts are disappointing. I hope I might figure it out though! Any tips are greatly welcome. Best, Yvonne

Hi Shirley. Wow! I love how you have created so many gorgeous layers of inks and stamps on this card. I can’t wait to get the 2nd lot of DO’s, it looks like they compliment the 1st set beautifully. A clever use of the iron to create another layer too!

Hi, Shirl! I love the circles outside of the woman – not just for visual interest – but because they are never ending, and there are multiple circles – indicating that our growth is multi-faceted – never ending – and that we should make room for several areas of personal growth! LOVE THIS creation! huggers, de

I just love how you used the iron off to bring in contrast. I am always too lazy to take it to this step – ha! But such a great result! The circles and face work beautifully together. Hugs, Autumn
