Weather Forecast At FSC

Fashionable Stamping Challenges this fortnight have a theme of  “Weather Forecast” which was picked by my fabby teemie sister Claire.

I smiled when I saw this challenge and also thought OMG what am I going to do.  Then I remembered my raindrop stamps, first saw these type of stamps on Dots blog.  (Ashamed to say my set was bought can you believe nearly six months ago but never seen the light of day until now.)

The background doily is from Do-crafts which the girl was stamped directly onto.

Totally in love with the raindrops (now they are out of their packaging) which were coloured in before adding the Glossy Accents.

The larger raindrops were made by using a mask from Creative Expressions called … wait for it … Raindrops and a dimensional paste.  When dry Glossy Accents was dripped over the top.  Other stamps are from PaperArtsy here and here plus the DI Ripe Persimmon was caressed over the top.

I would love it if you hopped on over to see all the DT’s work as they are simply stunning.  Also don’t forget that the winner of this challenge has $20 to choose anything they like from Flonz’s store.

One Layer Or Maybe Not

The girls made a one layer card in my class yesterday but then the butterfly was added later … which technically made it a two layer piece.  They are learning more about blending and inking and I am pleased to say all are enjoying so far.

Fashionable Stamping Challenges this fortnight have a theme of  “Anything Goes” and below is the card we made yesterday which I have added as my DT make.

The background started with brushing/stroking and tickling different colours of distress inks to give everything depth, then came the stamping and finally embossed with white powder.  Once everything was embossed we coloured in with more distress inks.

Scottish Vote

Sadly my Mum passed away 14 years ago and even though she married an Englishman and lived in England for most of her life she was a Scot through and through.  Two of my brothers were born in Scotland and I can remember many nostalgic summer holidays on the banks of Loch Lomond with my Granddad and cousins.  If Mum were alive today I definitely know which way she would have voted in the Scottish referendum!!!!

This is my Mum with two of my brothers,Robert and David.  Mum was extremely beautiful and had the most luxurious thick curly hair.  My granddaughter Amber has inherited her Great Grandmothers pretty looks and also her thick curly hair.

Fashionable Stamping Challenges this fortnight have a theme of  “Trees In Autumn Colours”.

The background of trees is from Stampin Up called – Lovely As A Tree and the adorable young lady reading is from Flonzcrafts here.  Coloured her with copics and used black and white gesso for the hair.  She is also sitting on a bed of distress powders.  Stamped the leaves from the SU French Foliage and cut out before sprinkling with the  effect powders.  Used G45 papers for the background.

Used Tim Holtz  distress effect powders then I found that CC3C has a challenge for these.  Inspiration Emporium

Entering For: Compendium Of Curiosities 3, Challenge II – Effect Powders Technique which can be found on Page 52 of his book.  You can also see all the details of how to enter.  Sponsors for the challenge are: Inspiration Emporium.  Better get my skates on as I have to hop on over to leave each of the Curiosity Crew a bit of love for all their inspirational work.

Not sure if my entry will count as I am ashamed to say that I bought my Distress Powders quite a few years ago and the ones I used on this card had never even been opened.  I did check and he still has these colours which I used.  Frayed Burlap, Spiced Marmalade, Broken China, Scattered Straw and Aged Mahogany.

Fashion – With Everything Thrown At It

“Dress shabbily and they remember the dress;  dress impeccably and they remember the woman”

Have you ever made something and you can’t stop playing with it …well this was one of those makes.  I find making things which are very elegant orientated my type of thing and when it involves stamping, inking, stenciling, colouring, painting, crackle and designing … well I couldn’t be more happy.

So many things thrown at her but soooo pleased with the end result.  Now usually when I’m in the ‘throw everything at it mood’  it turns into one horrible mess but not this time … well, in my opinion it looks rather tasty.

(Has anyone seen ‘The Good Wife’ if you have then you will remember one of the judges kept quoting “In my opinion”)

Fashionable Stamping Challenges this fortnight have a theme of  “Fashion” which was picked by our wonderful DT sister Laura.  Wahoo right up my street sweets!!!!!

Found this image already stamped in my bit box but nothing had been done to her.  (Not sure how long she was in the box as the stamp set is soooo old but you can still buy on ebay here.)    Went about changing her very quickly as I already knew the colours I wanted to use plus that is when the fun started.

Must be in the mood for using my old stash because above her head the stamped flourish is from the Visual Artistry Collection called French Market.

Door Hanger For Lauren

Firstly I want to say thanks a million for all your lovely comments on my posts whilst I have been away on holiday.  All this week will be spent hopping around to your blogs seeing what I have missed and also to leave you some hugs and love.

Fashionable Stamping Challenges this fortnight have a terrific theme of  “Child’s Play” which was picked by our wonderful DT sister Esther.

This is my first time of making a door hanger and it will be hanging on my craft room door until my granddaughter Lauren comes over, if she likes it it’s hers.  Amber is very arty and uses lots of paints with her work but Lauren, who is eleven, loves anything to do with needlework.

Used a few stamped images but the main is from Flonzcrafts called “Girls Sewing” which you can find here.  Used my watercolour pencils from Faber Castelle for the colouring in of the image.  The other stamps are from Stamping Up called Established Elegance.

My crafty friend has a fabulous paper pad from Prima and I used a page for the background with various inks and stencils.

Birds & Bees Matchbook

Fashionable Stamping Challenges this fortnight have a terrific theme of  “Birds & Bees” which was picked by our wonderful DT sister Claire.

Wanted to tell you first what card I used for the Matchbook.  I made faux leather by using Ranger Ink Refresher on craft cardstock.  Have tried the glycerine but for me personally my results are better with the Ink Refresher.

Before you see all the matchbook just wanted to show you a close up of the stamped image which is on the front.  Sorry about the reflecting light.  How fabulous does she look, all cracked weathered and worn … bit like me really.  Added a teensy little red colour to her lips for effect.

The matchbook is a Tim Holtz Movers and Shapers L Die called Matchbook Set.  For my make I used the smaller of the two.

For the inside I made a little ticket strip album which cascades down when you open the matchbook.  Added a little tissue paper bumble bee on the front which was sent to me from my fabby SIL Irene.  It came in a beautifully decorated box with lots of other crafting goodies.  Thanks ‘I’.

Placed the ticket strip on a black frame which you can’t see very well because the ticket strip is black also.  Each ticket has a stamped and gold embossed image on it plus the quote has also been stamped onto a piece of faux leather card then torn around the edges.

Before I go I am leaving you with two sneak peeks of another tarmac project that crafty friend and myself started when I stayed for my sleepover.  Can’t show it all because it isn’t finished yet!!!

All I can say is … OMG I am just loving that tar … keep watching this space!!!!

If you missed my last project you can see it here where you can also find a link explaining about the tarmac technique.

Like Clockwork

Fashionable Stamping Challenges this fortnight have a terrific theme of  “Like Clockwork” which was picked by our very own Yvonne.

Thank you Alison … Words and Pictures … who chose our fabulous theme from last week

Made a canvas book for my FSC piece this fortnight, decorated the front with loads of clocks and covered two of the pages inside with yet more clocks.

A very easy book to make – just cut two sheets of A4 canvas in half, add a cover and stitch down the middle using a running back stitch.  The cover is corecard run through a clock mask which was then sanded away to reveal the clocks before inking.  With the same mask I added texture paste.

Stitching the middle works better than gluing plus I added a calico like fabric to the inside of the cover … purely for strengthening purposes.  Chose a cream material that was mostly plain but had a very bold flower pattern on it.

Canvas BookCanvas Book1

The little stamped face was placed over a die of an alarm clock and the ornate mantle clock came from a Hero Arts set.

Kept the inside pages almost monochromatic because I am in love with browns and blacks at the moment.

The left hand side is the calico material and the right is the canvas.  Gave the canvas a coat of gesso before I did anything with it but the calico was worked on with nothing added.

This shows the cream calico material on the back cover, how gorgeous is that flower?

FSC – Meets Alison

Fashionable Stamping Challenges this fortnight have a fabulous theme of  “3D” which was picked by our amazing guest this fortnight namely Alison from Words and Pictures.

For my 3D project I have altered two bottles.  Here are the bottles in their naked form and below you can see them all dressed in their finery.  I have also included a pic of the stamped tissue paper which was adhered to the bottle after I had coloured in the stamped images.

BottleAltered1

Here are both bottles with some flowers in … stamped flowers are from Stampin Up.  Added some pretty wooden beads for decoration.

Altered BottleAltered Bottle2Altered Bottle7

All the stamps used on the yellow bottle are from Stampin Up and the pink bottle I have used Inkylicious, darkroom door and Kaisercraft

FSC – Circle The Globe Challenge

Fashionable Stamping Challenges this fortnight have a fabulous theme of  “Circle The Globe” which was picked by … ta daaaa … me.

Bought this beautiful World Map from Stampin Up and so wanted to make something with it so I chose the theme above.  I also thought that maybe some of you didn’t have any map stamps so added that you just have to use a circle in your make.  Also wanted to use the Dina Wakley “All The Gals” stamps plus  a stamp from B Line Designs called Rebecca.

My Pro Markers finally made an appearance after being neglected for yonks and yonks.  Not sure why I don’t use them so much nowadays as colouring in is so therapeutic.  Time just floats away and you forget everything except what you are colouring.

Around The World

After making the background with Dylusions ink spray – Crushed Grape, Adirondack Colour Wash – Lettuce and various masks I added two stamped quotes just to tie everything together.

I would love it if you hopped on over to see all the DT’s work as they are simply stunning.  Also don’t forget that the winner of this challenge has $20 to choose anything they like from Flonz’s store.

FSC Flying Things Tag And Holder

Fashionable Stamping Challenges this fortnight have a fabulous theme of Flying Things which was picked by the lovely Laura

This tag holder has been made so that there is enough room on the left hand side for holes to be made with the Cinch machine, then I can turn it into an album.  I have a few of these holders made but have to make one more before I can put together.

BirdsBirds 2

Have used a few of the new stamps which I bought at Ally Pally last weekend.

Fabulous day out, as per usual.  This time I managed to persuade my SIL Irene to go and also met up with Maria, Sandra and Pat.  What a day we all had, maddest ever.

I was so sorry I missed meeting up with Alison from Words and Pictures (which was such a shame).  I decided that this time round I needed a true break so made the decision not to pick up my e-mails whilst away.  Guess who missed Alison’s mail … isn’t it always the way … next time Alison.

Birds 3

I have also stamped onto the back of the tag holder, you know me and stamping, just can’t get enough of it!!!
