An Explosion Of Colour

Fashionable Stamping Challenges this fortnight have a fabulous Silhouette theme which was picked by the lovely Ellie.

My fabby teemie sister Avril has chosen to use the same stamp as myself.  How different they both look … mine an explosion of colour and hers (which you can see here) so soft and delicate.  CAS as it should be.

Definitely an explosion of colour going on here girls.  Wanted my silhouette stamp, which you can find here, to really stand out so what better way than to surround her with colour.

First thing I did was to stamp, then mask her off.  My background was made by using an Indigo Blu stamp called Blazing Poppies with a clear Versamark ink pad then embossed with a white powder.

Next came the colourful fun part.  Onto an acrylic block I dabbed  DI’s – Barn Door, Tumbled Glass and Mustard Seed, spritzed water over the colours before placing onto my cardstock.  Leave this for a little while so the colours soak in.  When dry lightly buff so you can see the white pop off the page.

Not sure if you can make out the butterflies around the edges, there are four of them.  These were stamped with a cream chalk paint and the butterfly is from a set called Nature I – also from Indigo Blu.

My flower was made by using stamps from PaperArtsy.  Used two sets one is here and the other is here.  Again these were stamped with a Versamark ink pad then white embossing powder, before being heated and cut out.

I would love it if you hopped on over to see all the DT’s work as they are simply stunning.  Also don’t forget that the winner of this challenge has $20 to choose anything they like from Flonz’s store.

Imagine Being Inspired

I was definitely inspired this morning when I saw what the Sunday Stamper (Hels) had as her theme this week – A Stitch In Time. Sadly I don’t sew nearly enough these days but I love buying the sewing stamps. Especially this set from Indigo Blu called “Sewing Mends The Soul”.

Also entering into the very first challenge at A Vintage Journey with an “Anything Tim Challenge”. Hop on over and have a look at the Design Team’s work because if you are a Timmy fan then this is the place for you to be inspired, the design team samples are gorgeous.

Didn’t clear away the DI colours … Mustard Seed, Tumbled Glass and Antique Linen that I used on my last post which just shows how much I like the combination because I have used the same again. Used a movers and shapers die called Imagine and a PaperArtsy stamp set called Buttons 3. I totally got deep down and dirty with this make but hey that’s what this crafting lark is all about plus I didn’t really get a sewing machine for Andrew!!!!

Wish List Wallet

Fashionable Stamping Challenges this fortnight have an Anything Goes theme which was picked by the lovely Esther.

I have made another project which will sit on my craft desk it is a wish list wallet and inside I have added a little notebook plus pen ready for adding all the crafty goodies I want to buy at Ally Pally in April. Loads of stamping and the little goose in the top right hand corner was made by triple embossing an oval piece of chipboard then stamping into it before adding gilding wax to the edges.

When fully opened you can see my bird has been stamped onto some faux leather card. Used the age ole technique of making faux leather, which Sheena has revived but her method is with glycerine. When I first saw this being done with card it was with the Rangers Ink Refresher and I have now tried both products and the Ink Refresher just has the edge for me but they both do work. Also added a little pocket for a tag I made but forgot to take a photo.

The notebook and pen were bought whilst shopping in Newbridge last week, only €1 for both.

Such a classy image but for the life of me I can’t remember where I bought it. Printed onto canvas paper to give an aged look then stamped the edge with a grid stamp from Stampin Up. The rather oversized bird cage is a Kaiser craft stamp. The rest of the stamps are from Indigo Blu, Darkroom Door, PaperArtsy and last but not least Stampers Anonymous. The background cardstock is of course from G45.

It would be fantastic if you could pop on over for a peak at what the rest of the Fashionettes have created.

Nuts And Bolts Album

I love these nuts and bolts albums but I haven’t got the ruler binder which is how they are usually made so improvised and did my own version.

My crafty friend and I just laughed and laughed when we were making these. Now I didn’t have the cargo die which was needed for the front but she did (have it now). She also supplied the hinge die on the end, this is where I added molding paste through Tim’s Measured Stencil so it looked reasonably similar. What did I supply you ask … the nuts and bolts, oh and the card for the inners. My version is finished, not sure about hers!!! I have also just finished another but this time very much plainer and less inking. It actually looks quite elegant … well compared to this one it does.

Nuts & Bolts Album

Each page is loaded with heavenly collaged stamping. There are more pages to it but got fed up with the photo taking so jumped to the rather plain back page.

Funkie Junkie Bonus Tag #1

I might just make the finishing post with Linda’s tags. Below is one of the bonus tags and that leaves just one more to make.

#1 tag is here with the rules. Linda’s # 1 Bonus Tag and the Funkie Junkie Boutique is here.

All my Christmas stash has been put away and because I am only just making my bonus tags there is not a bit of the seasonal stuff in sight. My inspiration came from the sentiment on Linda’s tag – “Hello Friend”.

Bonus Tag

After clearing away the dust I used another stamp that has only just seen the light of day … slapped wrists because they were bought quite a few months back. The stamp is a PaperArtsy called Buttons. Also used a little gold gilding wax around the edges of the framed lady.

Really have to get my skates on if I want to make the finishing line!!!!

Simply Spiffing

Stamped and embossed this cheeky chappy from Time Travellers with black E P onto craft card then coloured with Distress Inks. For the background I used white E P with this stamp from Indigo Blu (just the music part). Also used Tim’s Journeyman tissue tape which was added randomly but very sparingly.

Part of the Ephemera 3 collection of stamps from Paperartsy was stamped onto a spare piece of cardstock which was coloured also with DI’s then roughed up the edges a little. For the finishing touches I used a few bits from the G45 Typography papers and a framed die before using my fave Alphabet Stamps for the spiffing and old chap sentiment.

Brrr, well this was a surprise this morning. Winter is well and truly here the fluffy white stuff has started flurrying around in huge swirls. Took a quick photo from inside … I was not going outside for anything.

Write Your Story

The little Christmas craft market which I went to on Friday was such fun but it wouldn’t have been so amazing without the girls and men at Elavon who very kindly bought nearly all of my crafty products. I couldn’t believe how much I sold, it was amazing. Wow I now have a little stash of lovely dosh for more crafting goodies.

Thank You Elavon for inviting me – so looking forward to next year already.

It was a real dirty day yesterday with the weather but I had a crafty friend who turned up for a little mucky play which was much more fun. She is experimenting with paint at the moment so we made a couple of backgrounds using paints and crackle.

My first background piece was made with red and black paint, she used the colours of black and green for hers. After making the backgrounds she had to dash off but I carried on playing.

The molding paste came into play with the Tim Holtz Stencil Eye Chart. When all was dry the stamping started, I used a dirty lime green chalk paint to stamp the numbers from Tim Holtz’s Urban Chic collection before dabbing it around the edges. I buy my chalk paints from a beautiful little shop in Camolin where she makes me up little pots of whatever colour I want. The faces are from the PaperArtsy Mini 10 and Mini 05 and both were stamped onto papers from G45 the Typography collection … gorgeous. The Do Not Bend came from another PaperArtsy collection called Ephemera 3.

Touch Of Romance

Haven’t made a little book in ages but I was so inspired after seeing Asdtrid’s gorgeous make that I just had to get stuck in.

This is what Astrid’s little book looks like here and there is even a tutorial on how she made it. You have to go and have a peek it is amazing.

Followed the fabulous instructions on how to make the book but when finished I deviated a little by using the Sizzix on the edge Plaque & Postage die.

No Ink Challenge

Home from my little jaunt away and was greeted with my delicious new stamps from PaperArtsy calledID Dolls 1 and ID Dolls 2 – Simply GORGEOUS can’t wait to use Dolls 2.

Fashionable Stamping Challenges this fortnight is Anything But Ink … mmmmm just had to use her.

It’s not until you have a challenge like this that you realise how much ink you use on your projects. I have my teamie Laura to thank for the theme and for making me use my little grey cells. You really should check out her Cameo piece – it is gorge!

Everything on this tag has been made with paint, ehh except for the string and the beads and the card and the paste …!!! But the wooden beads were given a coat of paint which made them look quite boring so I decided to cover with spots.

Lost count of how many times I picked up an item only to remember that it was an ink product.

Used three stamps on the tag and each was stamped with a chalk paint. The tree in the background is from Stampin Up called Lovely As A Tree and a beauty of a stamp from Penny Black called Harlequin Border which I bought for a bargain price.

Before the stamping and paste were added to the tag I dabbed a watered down version of the paint to the edges and let it run to find it’s own level.

Also instead of gluing the stamped doll image I dolloped some paste onto the tag and sat the image on top.

Absolutely Spiffing Old Chap

Never ever wanted to plonk an image onto another item to alter it, simply because it just doesn’t seem to gel with my brain cells and my eyes. Weird or what!!!

Something in my head tells me that it looks ugly and completely wrong. Well decided not to listen to what my eyes are telling my brain and just went for it.

Coward that I am definitely nothing major to begin with … just baby steps.

For my baby start used this PaperArtsy Mini 03 and this stamp here from Flonzcrafts.

Other stamps used are from Artistic Outpost Generation Redux and another of Flonzcrafts here.
