Cold & Frosty Colours

This month is Cold and Frosty Colours at Vintage Stamping Challenges.

That’s what I love about challenges you can interpret the theme anyway you want. Sometimes you might not be thinking along the same lines as others but thinking outside the box is definitely what we love to see at Vintage Stamping Challenges.

How cold and frosty does she look and Mr Owl looks quite chilled as well so I surrounded them with colours that I thought went well with their mood.

So that is where my card started, with that very chilling icy look of hers and his, then I built the colours and card around it. You can find Mr Chilly here at Flonz Crafts. Printed her onto canvas.

The birds are a Crafty Individuals stamp but the tree is so old I am unsure where it came from.

This Is Where I Would Love To Be At The Moment

I don’t do enough of these one layer projects. Not sure why because you can pack as much into them as an OTT layered card.

Fashionable Stamping Challenges this fortnight is:

In The Holiday Spirit.

Our fabulous teamie sister Terry picked the theme this fortnight and all I can say is thanks babe it gave me the chance to get away from those gggrrrr Christmas cards (Christmas I love to bits, cards maybe not) and just play away.

Dot and I went for a holiday theme, mine is a wish you were here Postcard of France and hers is a bathing beauty. Now some of you eager beavers will spot that France isn’t exactly hot at this time of the year but a girl can dream can’t she!!! And it was the only stamp I had with the name of a country.

This image always reminds me of my two granddaughter’s, Amber and Lauren. Getting homesick so I am going to stop right there.

Loved doing this postcard so much that whilst all the goodies were still on the desk I made another, just slightly different.

PostcardPostcard2Postcard1

The Crafty Individuals stamp CI – 283 was just perfect for the postcard. Then came the inks, paint and pure heaven on a piece of card.

Please please pop on over for a peak at what the rest of the Fashionettes have created they are all stunning as usual..

Graphic 45 Today

I know the girls are going to love the papers we are using at my class today but not sure they will like the cutting out. Don’t you just love those little birds, they look as if they are carol singing.

The papers we are using today are from the Graphic 45 collection – Twelve Days Of Christmas, you can see it here. Love this paper because you can potentially make 12 cards from just the one sheet.

That Loving Angelic Look

Printed the beautiful girl image onto canvas paper, you can find her here. I have had this image printed off for ages but only just found her again the other day. It is one of Astrid’s freebies, if you haven’t seen them before they are well worth downloading and using. She has some more freebies on offer today.

This started with very soft and natural colours but just seemed to evolve and take on a life of it’s own. Layered with some fussy ripped napkins. Handmade the flowers using muslin, cardstock and newspaper also added some D I, Victorian Velvet. The ribbon was also dragged into the D I.

I am such a softie when is comes to pretty and feminine.

Tissue Christmas Tree

Forgot to show what the girls made at my class on Saturday.

This centre piece for the Christmas table gave me the inspiration to make the wine glass centre piece here. I know how different could they both be!!!

To make the tree I used a retired Sizzix original die, which you have to cut out twice.
You also need to cut out 16 layers of tissue paper for the middle of the tree. On 4 of the layers I have stamped and embossed with silver E P.

Christmas Centre Piece

The Frilly & Funky have a challenge at the moment for a project that can be found on your Christmas table or Christmas tree.

Found a very plain wine goblet which just cried out to be altered. The goblet is 5″ long and a little battery operated flickering tea light fitted into the rim perfectly. Smear the edges first with some pinflair glue so that it stays in place.

Next came the messy but real fun part, painting the glass with a white and cream paint. When dry splattered/flicked the same two coloured paints down the edges, whilst still wet spoon over some glass glitter. First picture shows the goblet unlit and the second shows the flickering tealight lit.

Ripped a pretty napkin for the candle and adhered with wax paper. Around the stem of the glass I covered this with Frantage Shaved Ice for a real sparkly effect.

Christmas 1

Stamped the snowflake stamp onto vellum … which was a freebie from Craft Stamper last year … twice with Versamark. White E P was added to one snowflake and silver E P to the second. Fussy cut both and layered over the middle of the ribbon. Also entering this for the Craft Stamper challenge, they want to see a splatter technique.

Vintage Christmas At C2CU

November’s main theme at Crafts-Too-Challenge You is A Vintage Christmas. There are two parts to the monthly challenge and today we are onto the second part which is: – Polychromatic

This is the opposite to Monochromatic so now you can use colour to your hearts content for the rest of the month.

Crisp and clean was my first thought when I had finished this card so it sat on my desk for ages because I just wasn’t sure if it was the effect I wanted. Glad that I left as is, because it grew on me.

Could not resist using this angelic image from a Nellie Christmas sheet. Placed behind a very pretty frame which I painted with a rather vibrant red then heated 3 different types of distress embossing powders over it. The chipboard flower was enhanced with the same ingredients.

The rest of the design team have worked really hard to bring you some amazing inspiration so pop here to have a peek.

Funkie Junkie 12 Tags Of Christmas – #9

Christmas Tag #9 Funky Junky Style

#1 tag is here with the rules. Linda’s # 9 tag and the Funkie Junkie Boutique is here. That’s it I am up to date that is until Monday when Linda will be posting her #10 tag.

Loved everything about Linda’s tag which made deciding where my inspiration was going to come from quite difficult. In the end I decided not only on the colour palette but also the rose flower, the raffia and also the huge silver snowflake. This is what I came up with.

You will be pleased to know that I have made three purchases this year to add to my Christmas stash, this Tim Holtz Christmas Blueprint stamp set was one of them. Couldn’t resist some more hand sewing so with some silver thread I did a back-stitch around the sentiment, Holiday Greetings.

Had a little play around in the graphics program which I use … love to play!!!

Funkie Junkie 12 Tags Of Christmas – #8

Christmas Tag #8 Funky Junky Style

#1 tag is here with the rules. Linda’s # 8 tag and the Funkie Junkie Boutique is here.

Wow still loving every minute of making these and following along with Linda’s 12 tags of Christmas.

My inspiration this time round came from Linda’s jolly little fat man on her tag. Of course I am referring to Mr Santa Clause himself … who wouldn’t look quite the same if he was all suave and slim like James Bond … well would he???

Inked the background of the tag with D I’s, Ripe Persimmon, Pumice Stone and Fired brick. Dipped last year’s free snowflake stamp from C S into some white paint to decorate the edges. Used it again then cut out before adding a S U sentiment to the middle. The Holiday Greetings is also from S U. At the bottom you can just see I have used a La Blanch stamp called Unfinished Script with Versamark and white E P.

Now onto Mr Clause himself, a really kind and generous lady called Maria gave each of us at my class last week some Father Christmas paper napkins.
So big jolly fat man himself has been torn and added with M P. How cute are those cheeks, don’t you just want to pinch and say who’s a pretty boy then!!!

Funkie Junkie 12 Tags Of Christmas – #7

Christmas Tag #7 Funky Junky Style

#1 tag is here with the rules. Linda’s # 7 tag and the Funkie Junkie Boutique is here.

Finally got around to #7 with Linda’s 12 tags of Christmas but I am happy to say that I have done #8 and #9, just haven’t got around to taking the pics.

My inspiration for this tag came from Linda’s teensy little tags that she used on her make. I’m a tag kinda girl so any excuse to use them.

Started the background by painting first with a mauve/purple type of colour. When dry put into an embossing folder before dry brushing some white paint very gently over the top.

The little reindeer was stamped onto corrugated cardboard with Versamark then a coat of white E P before heating. All the letters spelling out Christmas came from an M & S Alphabet Stamper Set and the letters spelling JOY came from here.
