Funkie Junkie 12 Tags Of Christmas – #3

Sorry sweets for bombarding you with three posts in one day but I just had to get this tag finished because it means I am up to date with the Christmas Tags Funkie Junkie style.

#1 tag is here with the rules. Linda’s 3rd tag and the Funkie Junkie Boutique is here.

You all know my predicament with the ole Christmas stamps but in the end this was an easy tag to make because my inspiration came from Linda’s sentiment. Had lots of fun making the tree, used another old sizzix original die. Embossed it with gold then stamped into it with this gorgeous stamp. Painted over with some amazing chalk paints I found before adding crackle medium. The fence die is another olde from Sizzix and the alphabet stamps are from SU. Finishing touches are with Pesto Adirondack Dimensional Pearls and Indigo Treasure Gold.

Funkie Junkie 12 Tags Of Christmas – #2

I love love love Christmas. Such a magical time of the year, … BUT … big but as well … I don’t like making Christmas thingies!!!

I think it stems from a time (yonks ago) that I made and sold loads and loads of cards. Needed the money to feed my habit, … you can breathe again now … I mean the CRAFT HABIT … not the illicit stuff. It got to the stage that I loved Christmas coming around but definitely not the crafting side of it.

Where is this going you ask?

Just finished tag #2 for Christmas Tags Funkie Junkie style, see my #1 tag here and the rules. This is Linda’s 2nd tag and the Funkie Junkie Boutique is here.

Problems came to light when I started #3, I am sooooo struggling. Not with the ideas part but with the very very limited Christmas stamps and goodies I have!!! Everything is coming back to bite me now because I very very rarely update my Christmas stock. Probably only buy one thing each year. Can you believe I don’t even own a Christmas mask or stencil!!!

You would laugh your socks off girls if you could see my Christmas stash.

Anyway this is a challenge and I am going to forge ahead with strong determination and get to the finish line.
This last sentence is for me girls, not you, just to make me feel better!!!

Loved Linda’s colour palette so this was the starting point for my tag. Used an iridescent spray instead of perfect pearls and also an ancient Sizzix Bauble die (now retired) which I triple embossed and stamped into. Don’t even ask about the tree stamp!!!

Along For The Ride

Another fly away week and it’s Friday already. This means you get to see my inspirational Crafts Too Challenge You fun children’s card for the Christmas Festivities theme.

The Old Jalopy which was cut from black cardstock then randomly covered with iridescent medium for the frosty feel is carrying home the traditional family Christmas tree. Crafts-Too die called Flourish Tree.

A Marianne sentiment stamp covers the beer bottle tops … oops I mean wheels … which were cut using a circle punch. Love this Art Impressions stamp Snowy tree for the background

Christmas 5Christmas 6

This challenge is open until the end of October so please come and join in with all the Christmas Festivities.

Behind Throwing With The Funkie Junkie Christmas Tags

Here is the link for the first Funkie Junkie Christmas Tag … Linda is already onto tag #3, got to get those little puddies moving so that I can catch up. Scroll down to see the challenge rules.

I have only just recently bought something from Linda’s Boutique and I have to say the service was quick but she also added some delightful little goodies in the package.

First saw these tags on Astrid’s and Silvia’s blogs and loved the idea so after another blog hop to Linda I decided I was going to have a go. Here is tag #2.

My tag was inspired by the lovely swirls on Linda’s tag but I went with traditional Christmas colours.
Stamped onto the tag … after doing the bis with the DI inks … with gold E P, used a Penny Black stamp called Snow Scroll, then everything went downhill from there as I went floating off on my own little planet of Shirl!!

This must be the quickest time that I have cut into a Graphic 45 paper pad. Only got it a few days ago but just couldn’t wait to snip snip snip with those scissors. Stamped the reindeer onto shrink plastic but also stamped onto cardstock with black E P. After colouring in with DI, Aged Mahogany did the ole snip snip again and glued onto the tag.

Feminine Beauty

Exciting news at VSC this month because we have a new DT sister joining us her name is Viv and she makes the most gorgeous creations.
I know you will all want to hop on over to leave her lots of warm welcomes so click here to see her gorgeous makes.

Such an elegant theme this month at Vintage Stamping Challenges and for my design team card I chose this beautiful image from Flonz Crafts.

My DT piece today is showing you just one page of an album that I have been working on for some time. The cover of the album is velvet material and each page inside will be mostly material with very little card or paper for enhancement. Not sure where this page will sit when it comes to collating it altogether but I am sure everything will fit perfectly … she says …

Stamped the script background with one of my fave stamps Creative Expressions. Didn’t want to mask off the Gibson Girl before I stamped the script so stamped her later. Framed all with a Marianne die.

Made the rose with the same velvet as the front of the album … watch this space for more!!!!

To enter this months challenge just enter your creation with Mr Linky and maybe it could be you who wins the $20 from Flonz’s store.
Visit the DT’s blogs for more inspiration and also it would be nice to leave them some love.

Friendship

I know we all say it, but really where has this fortnight gone? Fashionable Stamping Challenges has another new challenge starting today and it only feels as if it was yesterday that we started the last one!! Stenciling and Masks are needed for this challenge which was the brainchild of Ellie.

Don’t you just want to give her a big cuddle? She looks a bit like “Billy No Mates” and how sad that her friends have just walked away and left her.

“If you have two friends in your lifetime, you’re lucky. If you have one good friend, you’re more than lucky.”

Used a new mask designed by Neil Walker called Wonky Street which was given to me by a dear friend, also used a Dylusions Stencil called Letter Jumble.

Sweet Anticipation Of Christmas

Octobers, Crafts Too Challenge You #4 starts today with a new main theme which is Christmas Festivities.

Don’t forget that we have two different twists for the theme over the month and the first is – Create/Depict a Scene. This could be indoors, outdoors, through a window whatever you like.

My scene is this sweet image of three little girls waiting for Christmas which I printed onto a rectangle of cream material.

Covered a piece of white material with molding paste before cutting with a die, then stitched everything together.

Such an apt sentiment for Christmas time which was stamped and then white embossed.

The beautiful Crafts-Too die is called Flourish Tree which was cut with cardstock then covered with paste to look like frozen snow.

Adam And Eve It

Such miserable and brutal weather here today so a girl just has to do what a girl can do … playtime with another crafterholic. Used this beautiful stamp called Ophelia from the Stampsmith.

Would you Adam and Eve it … that means believe it in cockney rhyming slang … what you can create with a bit of paint, molding paste and ink.

Water Colour Art Stamping

After my class on Saturday one of the girls stayed behind and we had another few hours of just playing. We used some stamps that haven’t seen the light of day for yonks and yonks, they are my Water colour Art Impressions Stamps.

Haven’t finished the card that I started on Saturday but yesterday I made this tag and used the Rocker stamp.

Stamped the rocker then masked off to do the background. As soon as I was happy with the background took off the mask and water coloured the chair.

Used a Peg Tapestry stamp to fill in the cushion. These stamps are a great way to start art stamping here is a link for them.

This is a sneak peak of the card which we started , used the back and front stamp called Annie and the Window. She is on my desk at the moment waiting patiently to be finished.

Absolutely Spiffing Old Chap

Never ever wanted to plonk an image onto another item to alter it, simply because it just doesn’t seem to gel with my brain cells and my eyes. Weird or what!!!

Something in my head tells me that it looks ugly and completely wrong. Well decided not to listen to what my eyes are telling my brain and just went for it.

Coward that I am definitely nothing major to begin with … just baby steps.

For my baby start used this PaperArtsy Mini 03 and this stamp here from Flonzcrafts.

Other stamps used are from Artistic Outpost Generation Redux and another of Flonzcrafts here.
