ass

Sorry girls for being AWOL but every now and again life has to come before crafting and it has been one of those times.

My DT entry this week for the colour challenge at Sentimental Sunday’s is this cute little bag, I love making these because you can add raised dimension to the inside and it doesn’t get squashed when closed. The tiny little disc magnets from Basic Grey are fantastic for keeping the bag closed. I think the colours, for the challenge, are from Stampin Up, …. which I have very little of, can’t get here in Ireland …. but I have found similar things from my stash.

Take a hop and look at all the DT cards …. being naughty here because I never pick faves …. but if you want something to cheer you up and really make you chuckle in these cold winter months then check out Cheryl’s card here …. see told you it would make you giggle.

Playing With Acetate At Let’s Ink It Up

010421010420

010426

Before I get into my Let’s Ink It Up card I just want to say my I Feel Pretty card was chosen as card of the week at Phindy’s Challenge how cool is that. Note to myself must go back and check the challenges more often!!!

Check out the new logo at Let’s Ink It Up, they also have their first challenge starting today of 2011 …. yay …. Anything Goes …. good one to start the new Year off with and you have a whole month to enter, a teensy teensy little reminder girls no digi images allowed.

Wonderful creations as usual from everyone of the DT girls, they are just simply divine, hop on over and feast your eyes, not only at the projects but also at what you can win this month from our sponsor Zoe from Make It Crafty …. one stamp of your choice.

The first two images of my card doesn’t really show you that it is made from acetate, I think that’s because I photographed them with the wrong background cardstock, the inside image shows it much better. Really into the acetate but will try and improve the photography on the next project.

Wanted to try the new foam stamps …. which are really cheap less than £11.00 for the four, each stamp is 4″ x 4 1/2″ …. very impressed indeed, considering they are foam. Stamped the butterfly image from the set with Brilliance, Tiramisu which is a tri-coloured ink pad then embossed with clear powder. The flower is a decoupaged stamp which was in the sale at only £2.00. Stamped Anna Griffin butterfly four times with the same ink, twice onto matching paper and twice onto vellum, one for the outside and one for the inside, buttons, beads and ribbon from stash.

Come Fly With Me

Anything with wings is the challenge this week at Sentimental Sundays …. went with butterflies …. I think they look adorable on cards …. and the Magnolia image, which I coloured with Pro Markers is one of my favourites, she is so girlie girlie. Up for grabs is four individual sentiment sets from Raindrop Echo Designs Whimsy Stamps Digital Collection and a custom watermark/signature set from Custom Designs at Whimsy Stamps …. worth winning peeps. Not that any of you talented ladies will need inspiration …. but if you do …. hop on over and look at the other DT’s work it is all fabulous.

Papers I used for my card are from one of my fave designer Anna Griffin, butterfly is die cut from some very pretty blue vellum and then embossed, netting, pins, brads and flowers all from stash.

Happy Boxing Day

010417010419010418

Happy Boxing Day to everyone, hope you all got everything you wanted for Christmas and more.

Home with the family and enjoying every single minute of Christmas. It was so magical yesterday, seeing Amber, Alex and Lauren opening their presents.

At one point there were six adults in the kitchen helping with the dinner …. talk about too many cooks spoil the broth …. but this wasn’t the case …. dinner was delicious and more.

One moment was truly magical and will stay in my heart forever, Alex (only 10) bought his mum a beautiful bracelet …. he wrapped the pressie and put it under the tree without a word to anyone. When Clare opened the present she adored it, the bracelet was stunning …. what makes it so amazing is that Clare had told him off during the week for taking money out of his moneybox, she thought he had spent the money on junk. It turns out the money was for his mum’s bracelet and he took the telling off without saying a word …. well as you can imagine I had tears in my eyes …. awwww he reminds me so much of my son.

Onto my card, Sentimental Sundays Challenge this week is New Baby. Made a sweet little tag with a sentiment from Raindrop Echo Designs …. I used the welcome and a cute little baby sentiment, you can find them at Whimsy Stamps it is sooo cute. You will find so much more inspiration from the other DT members please click onto their individual blogs on the right side bar. While adding your creation don’t forget to pick up your freebie digi sentiments.

Mo’s Dream Team

010415010416010412010413

Mo’s Dream Team are having a DT call and this is the second card I have made for it …. where is the first card you say …. well that is where I made the most stupid mistake. Yep the last post should have been my card for Mo’s Dream Team call, as I said nothing wrong with the card, but as you all know by now I put the wrong image on the card …. OK stop laughing your socks off, my only excuse is that I love Mo’s Digital Pencil images and Phindy’s Place digital images …. they are both adorable.

No time to make another but I had already made my granddaughter’s Christmas card …. only had to stick all together, so here it is a stepper card and I used Mo’s Santa Cat image, Amber adores cats. Watercoloured the image then really blinged it up …. Amber still loves bling on her cards. Dry embossed the card and did the same with the sissix die Christmas tree, blinged this all over as well and a few drops of liquid pearls.

Well I really think that lets me out of the running …. who makes a card and then puts on the wrong image!!!! but am entering anyway after all the hassel I have put myself through.

I Feel Pretty

010400010401010402

010410010411

Inspired by a song is our theme this week at Sentimental Sundays challenge and this delightful image called Grande Dame made me think of the song from West Side Story

I feel pretty, oh so pretty, I feel pretty and witty and bright, and I pity any girl who isn’t me tonight

Take a stroll over to the challenge and see all the beautiful creations from the other DT’s, see if you can spot what their songs are …. while there check out the prizes you can win when you enter and the freebie this week is fabulous. Nearly forgot to mention the easy part your card has to have a sentiment on it, can’t wait to visit and see all your projects.

I was sooooo engrossed in making this card …. so pleased with how it was turning out …. totally concentrating on what I was doing, that I ended up making a teensy teensy little mistake with it …. well, it was a whopping mistake really …. pop back later today …. when I will be showing my granddaughter’s Christmas card …. and all will be revealed … then after you have stopped laughing please tell me if you too have ever done this. Unless any eagle eyed person can guess what I did before I post????

If anyone can tell me what I did wrong …. before I post ….I will send you this card for being so clever. OK a little hint for you, there is nothing wrong with the actual card itself, it is what I was going to do with the card, but couldn’t, because of what I did wrong …

My adorable image is from Phindy’s Place …. entering her into their challenge this week which is to use one of their creatures. Grande Dame is adorable, coloured with water colours, flocked her dress around the edges, added loads of micro beads and a little bit of cotton wool for her powder puff. The inside sentiment on the tag is a rub-on.

Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow

010404010405010406

Truly out of the doldrums, who cares about …. eyes really bad …. oil running out and no heating for a week , oil man coming tomorrow …. snow, nearly all gone thank goodness, we managed to get the car off the drive and into the village yesterday first time in two weeks, …. got the best news ever on Friday …. Andrew’s holiday’s have been OK’d and we are off home to the UK for Christmas …. can’t remember the last time I saw the grandchildren opening their presents on Christmas day …. I’m so happy oh so happy and more good news the elusive birthday cards turned up …. only 4 days late but worth waiting for …. three were handmade which was a surprise.

I am really going to miss Andrew’s company, he has worked from home for the last two weeks, we truly get on so well together …. we even share the craft room, even though he still calls it the office …. he has a desk in the corner and selfish me has all the rest of the space.

My daughter-in-law’s birthday card inspired me for this week’s Sentimental Sundays Challenge , Let It Snow …. just not here. Her card looked sooooo pretty and she used material on it which she knows I love, so this is my DT card for the challenge and it is also Clare & JP’s Christmas card …. hope she likes it …. JP won’t he always says haven’t you heard of KISS Mum …. keep it simple stupid. They have four cats in the household which is why I added the little pussy and blinged it up with lots of diamond dust, the charm in the centre of the sentiment was silver so I coloured with copics. Still playing around with my backgrounds.

I think most of us fell in love with the snow sentiment this week from Ann at Raindrop Echo designs, you can find it here from Whimsy Stamps. Oooo nearly forgot don’t forget to pick up your freebie while there, Lisa chose the set of three sentiments for you and they are beautiful …. thanks Lisa.

Here is Clare’s card isn’t it just adorable, and I know that material it’s from Cath Kidston one of my fave designers, thanks Clare.

Birthday Girl & Billy No Mates

010399010397010398

Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me, happy birthday dear Shirley …. sorry just had to do that because I really feel like Billy no mates today …. not one birthday card has arrived for me, boo hoo. Oh well I’d better confess and tell you the whole story before you all think that I have been sitting here well and truly down in the dumps …. had no post for a week because of the weather. Good news is I get to open them after my birthday …. eh not sure about that one.

Wow have I been experimenting with the backgrounds for my cards …. what do you think of the image above …. now some are going to hate it but me personally I love it. Made the background paper from my card then cut and pasted the image into the centre of the paper.

This is another freebie Christmas image from Digital Two For Tuesday isn’t she so adorable. Background paper is from K & Co, Swell Noel and have covered the left hand corner with vellum …. you can just see the little church showing through. Made the bows from a Hot Off The Press template – Fold-It-Bows – they look really pretty …. bit different from all the paper flowers I keep using. Oops forgot to say I coloured the image with watercolour pencils.

Digital Two For Tuesday

010395010396

Wow a Brucie bonus girls you get to see this easel card early, I made this for Digital Two For Tuesday and I had a lovely e-mail off Cora saying she has posted it early, so here we are.

Cora sent some lovely images to make cards with and the first three freebies showing here are the ones I picked for three different cards, you will see one tomorrow and the other Tuesday.

Today is my first experiment with different backgrounds and very pleased with the effect. Took original photo of card resting on a Kay & Co paper …. have been doing this for a while now …. but the next image I cut and pasted from the original photo and layered onto a digital background …. really pleased with the effect, will be experimenting with this some more Hope you like it and please let me know if you like the effect of the backgrounds.
