Sparkle and Beads

Haven’t done this technique in a long time but taught my class on Monday how to use Angelina Fibres and we also did brayering, the results were stunning.

This is the second image I stamped and instead of putting onto a card decided to use one of my new Tattered Angels Tags, added micro beads to the image just for a bit more texture and colour. One of the pieces of card which the tag is resting on …. butterflies on it …. was stamped with versamark and then brayered, used the big and juicy ink pad – spice, punched out three flowers from this piece of card afterwards. The other bits of card were embossed and then distressed. Made the corner flower with a piece of salvage edged material, coloured with copics and then rolled with a quilling tool. Hope you enjoy looking as much as I enjoyed making.

This is the class card, added a tag pocket on the inside, stamped the background randomly with a flower and then we brayered, ink used was the Hydrangea Big & Juicy.

Something Old Something New

Had my usual crafting day with Jenny on Wednesday and stamped six images ready for colouring, the only one I finished was the Rainy Day, …. can’t you tell it’s flavour of the month at the moment …. because it’s the same image as the previous card …. ah well it’s still cute and at least it’s a different colour.

Something Old, Something New is Crafty Angel’s challenge this week – my old is the material on the card …. so old can’t remember when I got it but do know it is a Laura Ashley, the corner punch is new.

In my sewing phase again made lots of French knots, even in the middle of the little flowers.

Shabby Chic

Isn’t she just adorable, love everything about these new stamped images from Papermania. Papers and brads are also Papermania called Hampstead.

Made the flower from an old Laura Ashley piece of chiffon and cut a little for the tag. Positioned the tag through the aperture which was made with an octagonal nestie shape, rub ons are from Basic Grey. Image was stamped with Adirondack called Noel and then water coloured in. Inked edges of tag with TH inks and whilst still wet added embossing powder also added a rub on and finished it off with diamond glaze.

Very late for Crafty Angels but have only just returned back from UK this week.

Took lots of photos while away so the grandchildren will be impressed because I have just updated their pictures on the right hand side bar. Every time I go home I have such a shock to see how they have all grown …. but this time …. OMG …. Amber is taller than me!!!!

Scarlet’s Letter

Basic Grey and digi whoo hoo …. Scarlet Letter was one of the paper pads that I never managed to get over the years but now I have it forever in digi.

Off home to see the grandkiddies today (4 months since I have seen them), because they are still at school I am having a crafting day with Irene and Diane tomorrow. Made lots of tags so I can colour them in but had to keep them safe so made this book … (wallet really but too many letters for the tag). The book is made from the Scarlet Letter digi papers and all the embellies on the tags are from the kit as well, buttons and brads look so real will be adding the cotton later.

Three of the tags have images which I stamped and then scanned (you can just see a peak of the new stamps from docrafts it’s from the Nostalgia collection called Rainy Day oh so delish) but all the rest are digi images from various shops. Tags are 13.5cm in length (5.5 inches) and the book is 15cm (5.14 inches).

Had to colour at least one of them so chose an image from Phindy’s Place called Romantic Moment …. ahh …. Grande Dame is another of her images and couldn’t resist adding sentiments. Watch out for the image called …. Mrs Comfy crafting …. on my to do list. Ribbon will be added later to the tags.

A big big sorry girls but not sure what has been happening with the Crafty Angels Challenge blog since 7th June. Week 39 challenge for In Vogue Papers didn’t get posted, week 40 not mentioned, week 41 only posted the day before which was too late for me to make my DT card but this week we are back on track yippee.

Crafty Angels Challenge today want to see some red and black on your projects, Laura set the challenge which really went well with my new kit …. must be some kind of telepathy because I could not have chosen better. She has been having a painting session with the colour red, it all sounds really yummy.

Memory Album Day

Hi girls count down to Memory Album Day – Sunday, 4th July.

I will be making a list of materials which you will need to bring with you on the day … on a daily basis …. as I work out what they will be ha ha!!!

You will definitely need two photos size 5 1/4 x 3 3/4 inches …. one photo is for the front of the album so pick wisely.

These two photos are a must but other photos can be added to the album at a later date.

Only one more day to go girls, I know you are so looking forward to it. No sneak peak this time showing the whole of the page. This is my son John-Paul aka JP and as I am sure you can guess it’s a picture from his Graduation Day. Dare I say it …. why not …. long time ago. Can’t stop myself, just had to show you another part of the album …. this picture is of both my boys …. Michael and JP …. but the 64,000 dollar question is …. which one is JP??? Will show all the album put together after the class tomorrow.

Sorry for lack of posting but my brother and his wife literally landed on our doorstep unexpected for a holiday. It was such a lovely surprise, but as usual these things happen when there is lots going on. Anyway girls here is a sneak peak – check out that photo, it’s from Andrew’s 40th birthday party …. we were in Kuwait at the time and the bash was held at the British Embassy, I was working there and permission was given to arrange the surprise party. Andrew knew nothing about it because the week leading up to the bash he was ill in bed. I felt so cruel at the time because I whinged that I wanted to go out the night of his birthday and even though he was only just recovering he agreed …. wow what a night.

Well done girls, a beautiful baby card this week, all your creations were stunning – not an easy card to make as it is soooo delicate …. lots of vellum and ribbon involved, also cutting the card in half and making tags with the waste card …. but you all managed it perfectly, again good work.

Was A Boy … Now A Girl

What a lovely Saturday we had, went to a BBQ at Sandra’s …. it was really for the men’s benefit so they could watch England play but what a disappointment …. should have won …. ah well Sandra and I had a good time. Now I am not a football person but I do love to watch England.

It’s my turn to set the challenge for Crafty Angels this week and as you can see I am still so in love with the Pinkpaislee papers that I thought it would be lovely to see what everyone else’s fave paper is at the moment so I set the challenge …. that it would be brilliant to see your:

In Vogue Designer Papers

Laura gave us this delightful Magnolia Stamp (among other delightful goodies) but because I was in a hurry to go out when it came I hardly glanced at it. Started to make my Boys Card …. decided to paper piece the image, picked the papers and colours, it was only when I stamped out the image I realised Edwin was Tilda. In her hand she is holding a horse halter …. (thought it was a skateboard) …. not sure what that is …. Google here I come.

Used one of my handmade flowers and made my own charm, sentiment is a rub on. Ribbon and papers can all be bought online here

Anyway she turned out quite girly in the end I am sure my granddaughter Lauren has a friend who is into horses.

Chanter Heartsong

I bought this Sweet November Stamp but thought I had lost her. You can imagine my joy when I was looking for another stamp and I found her …. not looking for the other stamp now.

Isn’t she beautiful …. wish I had found her for this week’s challenge at Crafty Angels – My Favourite Stamp

Found a new challenge blog called Tickled Pink Stamps …. made the card …. went to enter …. oops it’s last months challenge …. oh well have to make another card for this months challenge …. what a chore ha ha.

Stamped her onto my fave DP at the moment …. pinkpaislee, paper pieced her, added liquid pearls and lots of diamond stickles.

Anne who comes to my Tuesday class with her daughter Kathleen gave me the lace …. a huge thank you Anne. Added some really stunning pearl buttons and a Prima flower. The sentiment is a rub on from a pack called Enchanting press ons – also from pinkpaislee and what a surprise you can buy them here.
